Just a thought.
What's the chances of playing Salah through the middle Gakpo and Frimpong either side, Wirtz in the 10.
Possible option if we don't get an out and out striker that we want.
Have read some reports that we're in discussions with Frankfurt for Ekitike. fairly reliable source.

Well we’ve lost one forward (YNWA D. Jota) ❤️?
And we’re about to sell another in Nuñez
Diaz looks uncertain at best!
So we’re going to have to get 2 forwards because we’ll leave ourselves short. Definitely a central striker. And like you say probably someone in the mould of Ekitike/ Fofana.
Big summer this and yet it all feels weird to even be discussing transfers. It’s a difficult one mate.

Yeah agree bud, the football club has to move on regardless. the pain will ease over time but ultimately, however slowly, we have to move forward.

I think we’ve generally missed several boats on signing a striker: Cunha, Pedro, Osimhen.
There are no many good ones about and we’ve been kicking a few tyres but no bids.
I think Darwin is staying and Danns will join him on the bench.
I think we’ll play Wirtz as false 9 and Salah, Diaz or Gakpo either side of him.

Whatever happens, there will be no panic or rushed buys. Martinez is looking like thw safest bet of all those left, if Isak is not going to be possible.
Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs are going to be better this coming season, as are we.

Still Sessko, Gykores, Etikete, Mubemo, fofana, Mudueke, even, Rodrygo are some of good fwd options in the market.

There is still every chance that Wirtz will play left side of our front 3. Kerkez has a much better engine than Robbo or Tsimikas to get forward and provide the width, much like what Grimaldo did at Leverkusen to allow Wirtz to be more narrow and heavily involved.
It seems unlikely that any of Szoboszlai, Mac Allister or Gravenberch are going to be dropped from our starting XI most weeks. They had a real balance about them as a midfield 3. I'm really interested to see how Wirtz fits into the side. I think he'll either play left side of a front 3 like he did at Leverkusen or maybe as a false 9.
It's a huge waste of his attacking prowess to ask him to do all that running we had Dom doing last season. To me at least, it just doesn't make sense to pay £116m for a player and then not build the team around him.

Not a fan of Salah playing in the CF role.

MK Scouser - Exactly, anyone thinking that Dom S will be dropped to accomodate Wirtz does not understand that our game is built on Dom S heart and lungs, rather than his goal scoring and hollywood passing.
Sure he 'could' score more, but its not essential to our game.
Wirtz is going to be one of the front 3 or part of a 4 man MF, in effect.

So you would ask the best player at the club to move inside from the position where he created a record number of goals and assists? Bananas.
I’d rather play any other forward as CF.

Cunha and Pedro aren't even really strikers, they need to have a lot of the ball to take players on and create. Also they like to occupy similar sorts of spaces as Wirtz, I'm not sure how you can share the ball in between either of those two, Wirtz and Mo. Osimhen would have been a good fit but clearly the club decided we should move on from him and look at options with more upside.

Darwin just cannot be still here next season, get what you can and replace.

Spot on PB, Cunha plays like he's Lionel Messsi. He just goes wherever he wants to get on the ball and then runs with it until something happens or he loses it. He doesn't have the patience to wait for the play to reach him so he's constantly coming deep. Perfect for Wolves who had a lack of creativity in midfield after Moutinho and Neves moved on.
Pedro is more like a Firmino type false 9. He doesn't play with as much positional freedom as Cunha, but he also doesn't get into the box as much as he should do to boost his goal tally with the poachers finishes. He likes to operate in between the lines and he's happy to stay there and wait for the ball to come to him.
I'd not describe either as strikers. Cunha is a complete positional enigma and Pedro is a false 9.
{Ed001's Note - Pedro's shooting is often horrible as well, unless taking penalties (which I am pretty sure the last few of his goals were pens), he is no better than Nunez for composure. Cunha can hit it and hit it well. Much better player is Cunha.}

Best way to put it is no-one at Brighton is crying about João Pedro leaving. I also can't imagine Cole Palmer wanting to give up penalty duty, Pedro will end up getting lost in the rotation with Delap and Jackson. 10 (non penalty goals) will be a good season for João Pedro (my opinion)
Cunha was valuable to Wolves until they realised they were better without him (during his suspension (S) ) . He's a player who can make something out of nothing but will go missing - reminds me a lot of Bruno Fernandes, who I think Cunha was brought in to replace - before his aborted transfer to Saudi. Can they play in the same team, I think you have to go with one or the other or your going to have to carry two players.
Of the two I prefer to watch Cunha, but his disciplinary problems last season put me off wanting him at LFC.
In my opinion, two bullets dodged.
