We all want Isak, but what are our thoughts on a realistic transfer fee? Taking into account, supply / demand, injury history, age etc. I feel £135m would be a final offer take it or leave it. How much would you be happy we went to?

What is a realistic transfer fee these days? I've seen reports that City are offering £170m to resign Palmer but Chelsea want £250m for him.
If we have the money and the club are happy to spend it on a player then I am happy.

To be honest, he's the best striker under the age of 30 in world football. You get what you pay for. He's easily worth £120m if we want £60m for Nunez.
The issue is, he's worth more to Newcastle because they're going to struggle to replace him. So we'll have to pay at least £130m in my opinion. Maybe as high as £150m.
As long as we get our man and it doesn't hurt the club financially, I'm not going to question Hughes/ Slot.

He is a £150M player, but given that his game time needs to be managed and can only play 80% of the time, either by missing games or being substituted in the second half, we should only pay 80% of his worth = £120M.

Why does it matter? its not our money - we want great football and trophies. The club has been run very well to get us to this point, and if it takes 150m, then so be it. Even if he only plays half the games, what it means is that we will take the chances created by this fantastic side. This signing could elevate us to the very top of europe once more.

I would have thought that starting at 100 Million would make more sense. It makes more sense to start low and build it upwards, even if it takes some time. Both sides get the satisfaction of thinking they made the other side sweat and work hard. ?.

I’m trying to looking at it relative to Nunez and Diaz rather than just headline figure.
If we manage to sell Nunez and Diaz and 25/ 30m I think we would all have taken that at the start of the window.
Yes the figure on its own is crazy and is a huge risk, like all transfers. But he’s probably the best overall striker in the league. Haaland is a monster and scores for fun but I feel Isak brings more to the team. So if he is the difference between winning and losing trophies it’s probably worth doing in exchange for a player who wants to go and another it just hasn’t worked out for.

Why are people so hungry up on the fee? . it's the club money, they will spend within their means, regardless of what fans think. It's also likely that the true fee won't even be reported in the media, as their are things like agent fees, add one, bonuses etc. just enjoy the fact the club are in a position to be acquiring world class players.

I'm not really bothered, unless it impacts on our chances of getting the defenders we want.
I fully trust the club to not run foul of psr, so whatever we're willing to pay is ok with me.

I’m not arsed about the cost, I'd expect a prime maradonna / Ronaldo etc for the rumoured £150 million, but looking at recent transfer fees of caicedo / rice etc maybe that’s the transfer market now.
