It's a pre-season friendly for getting minutes back into legs and experimenting with a few things. I wouldn't take it too seriously.
Just enjoy the Rio show when he arrives. With all the signings made and expected. I didn't think i would be most excited about one of our own.

It's pre season. Don't worry about results or performances. It's all just for getting players up to fitness and trying new things.

To be fair I think that main concern for the OP is only having 2 CBs available. It's a valid concern whether it is a pre season friendly or not.
Unless we can sell a couple of non-hg fringe players we are fairly limited in who we can bring in. We are pretty much limited to signing HG/ U21 players at the moment.
With Chelsea looking like signing Hato I'd consider taking a punt at trying to sign Colwill unless Palace drop their asking price for Guehi. Leoni is another I would like to see us sign but it looks like Milan are favourites.
We obviously have Nallo and Stephenson (although he is primarily a DM) but the fact that they were overlooked in the last couple of games suggests that they maybe aren't quite ready to mix it with the first team.
