I have a sneaky suspicion about Fofana, TSR. The Morton deal was a great deal for us with a club that is notoriously difficult to negotiate with. I think it has smoothed the way for Fofana to come to us.
As some posters have pointed out, last year we had Nunez, Jota, Gakpo, Diaz, Salah and Chiesa. Also Elliot who had covered the Salah role a couple of times.
Assuming Chiesa also goes and Isak arrives, we will have Gakpo, Etikite, Isak, Salah + 1 (maybe Fofana) .
But we also have Rio, Doak, Wirtz and Frimpong who can cover some or all of the front 3 positions. I think that looks pretty tasty.

Same Zed. Based off absolutely nothing, but I can’t see a late push for Fofana after Isak and a CB
We just look a bit short still, I know it’s greedy but we’re definitely still short as it stands right now.

Fofana would seem to make the most sense rather than a Bacola type who would expect to start and cost a lot more.
Not seen much of fofana but if he can play all across the front line then he could be very useful.

It’s going to be tough to replace Chiesa’s 104 league minutes.
I’d quite happily put a wager on young Rio beating those minutes this season.
Losing Salah to Afcon will have an effect but I reckon Etitike can replace Darwin’s and Jota’s league minutes on his own which is around 25 league games.
Throw in Isak if that deal happens and we have players who will get far more minutes because Slot trusts them.
