Wolfs rejected a second offer for Bootle Strand Larsen.
“Why don’t Newcastle pay the asking price? ”
Are they unsettling him? Big Champions League cartel club throwing their weight around.
Am I doing this right?
27 Aug 2025 11:01:53
They should stop being disrespectful and stop lowballing Wolves.
27 Aug 2025 11:04:26
Honestly Newcastle need to stop mucking about, the longer they mess around with Wolves with time running out in the window the less time Wolves have to replace him. If they want to talk about having respect for other clubs they need to walk the walk (not that they will, they've probably unsettled the player already the way they did with Wissa and want to get him on the cheap, which they've found isn't really a tenable way of working) .
{Ed025's Note - yeah its all Newcastle,s fault PB, it hey had bent over when Liverpool told them to things would be sorted by now..
27 Aug 2025 11:59:44
Wolves need 2 strikers in before they can sell Larsen.
27 Aug 2025 12:06:25
Am I missing something but isn't this how transfers work. An offer is made and the player wants to come. What is wrong?
27 Aug 2025 11:29:59
Ed025, you know full well this is nothing to do with Liverpool. Liverpool are prepared to pay over 130m to Newcastle in order to get a wantaway player, and there is no suggestion whatsoever that Liverpool have spoken to Isak directly.
I do not agree one bit with Isak refusing to train with the first team and play (though something tells me there is more from Newcastle’s side than meets the eye), but Newcastle very clearly did not take his wish to leave seriously, and their behaviour since is so far from that of a top club its little wonder Isak wants out.
{Ed025's Note - will we ever know the real truth Lowe?, there are 2 sides to every story mate and im just putting the other side and playing devil,s advocate, if the shoe was on the other foot im sure you would be blaming Newcastle..
27 Aug 2025 11:39:10
No Ed025 its all Wolves fault, if they had bent over when Newcastle told them to things would be sorted by now.
{Ed025's Note - they were forced into the situation EOF because someone stole their best player mate.. :)
27 Aug 2025 11:43:33
Ed025, I wouldn’t have a problem bending over if someone offered me a £110mil or whatever the figure was that we submitted for Isak ;-) I don’t think Liverpool have committed a crime against humanity here. Clubs force players out and stick them in reserve when it suits them as well. What goes around, comes inside (or however it’s said) ?.
{Ed025's Note - i suppose that depends on what side of the fence you are on MB, i actually feel sorry for Newcastle, all that building a good side and making Europe then along comes the school bully who robs your Dinner money (or star player in this case) and it all goes tits up, heartbreaking mate.. :)
27 Aug 2025 11:57:23
Ed those Saudi's love a good rogering.
{Ed025's Note - dont they just DrB.. :)
27 Aug 2025 11:59:03
Are you an evertonian ed25 your posts always seem so bitter.
{Ed025's Note - im an Evertonian, a football fan and a champion of fairness, truth and doing the right thing Kopcat, high standards i know mate but thats just me..
27 Aug 2025 11:59:07
Same as Gordon going to Newcastle from Everton Ed025. Players want out. Nought can be done sadly.
Part of the game
Sadly, loyalty was lost with the millions available
Happens in all walks of life. Highlighted publicly as it’s the biggest sport in the world.
{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with that Gazza..
27 Aug 2025 12:28:08
Hard to feel sorry for them ed025, their best player told them he wanted to leave a year ago, they didn't listen to him or take him seriously and thought they could just make it through the season and somehow convince him to stay. They never put a proper infrastructure in place to get transfers done, have sleepwalked through a summer transfer window because they didn't appoint the right people at the executive level, and because of lack of preparation or a plan to replace the player who repeatedly told them he wants to leave they've failed to do so, and somehow still think the right course of action is strongarming that player to stay put and perform on the pitch when he gave due warning that he had one foot out the door.
They're in this position mostly because of their own incompetence, if they had planned properly and done all the groundwork to get the players they wanted before the window opened, or at least in the very early stages of the window, then Isak would have been out the door weeks ago and Newcastle would have a squad to challenge for all the honours. Instead they were passive and want to blame everything on Isak and Liverpool.
They have bought well, buying the best players that they could at the tier that they are shopping in, Bruno, Tonali, Hall, Livramento, Barnes are all brilliant players, Anderson and Minteh have also proven to be excellent players and it was a shame they had to let go of them. Isak was an inspired purchase, they saw that he was a world class player in the making. But they all joined under the understanding that they would be able to go on to bigger things if a big club came calling. That they have got themselves into this position with Isak is just mismanagement on the part of the club, it is irritating that the excuses that they are making for it are being eaten up by fans, pundits and neutrals.
{Ed025's Note - then its a waste of time signing contracts then PB, Newcastle made this guy into a global superstar and a very well paid one then he has his head turned and he the poor guy now who is a victim of modern slavery, it just doesn,t sit well with me mate..
27 Aug 2025 12:29:44
I hear ya Ed. But I am extremely confident the Newcastle owners will have an easy time getting over this heartbreak, especially with the sort of money they have. Money can and does buy happiness. They will eventually move up the food chain in the coming years and will do the exact same to smaller clubs. It’s the nature of the game.
{Ed025's Note - you are probably right MB...sadly mate..
27 Aug 2025 12:33:36
How much do wolves want?
27 Aug 2025 12:40:39
Ed, Hard to feel sorry for Newcastle since this happens everybody unless you're at the top of the foodchain like Real Madrid or Barcelona. the difference is most clubs have a sporting director or a team responsible for planning ahead, selling the project etc.
But from what i've understand Newcastle lost their sporting director Mitchell because of disagreements with the owners. That left them with a player whos outgrown the club and pushing for a move while they've got no plan or person in place to make any kind of decision.
Sure I get that PSR are doing them and Villa dirty, but to blame Liverpool because were interested in a top 3 striker seems harsch.
Newcastle owners has put themself in this position, those poor, sweet, humanrightsloving owners.
Btw are Newcastle considered the bully in their hunt for Wissa? Or Strand Larsen?
{Ed025's Note - yes they are doing the same Kaff, they have been forced into it of course but its still no excuse mate, go down the proper route and ask for a players availability and if its a no move on..
27 Aug 2025 12:54:06
That’s probably the first and last time I’ve ever been right about anything Ed ;-) only took 40 odd years. Things waiting, comes to those who are good I suppose ?.
{Ed025's Note - i think you may have been right about something a few years back MB...but my memory is not what it was mate.. :)
27 Aug 2025 12:54:28
Surely any employee working at a company has the right to leave if he has given due notice, ed? Or do you think that as long as you are an employee you are at the command of your employer? What you are describing does sound like modern slavery to me. The optics of Isak not training and not going on preseason, not playing the way Guehi and Eze did are certainly not good, but surely Isak himself knows that, and he feels that he has good enough reason to behave this way? All the odds are actually stacked against him, so many journos calling him spoiled, a disgrace, etc., he's never directly responded to that and has kept his peace.
You say that there are two sides of the story but I don't think you've considered what he might think. Which I would say is fair enough, except basically everybody takes the side of the club in this instance, so really you're hardly being the 'devil's advocate' when it is a widely accepted opinion.
{Ed025's Note - i just dont know why he never put in a transfer request PB and done the right thing, or is he just a spoilt brat after all and wants jam on it?..
27 Aug 2025 13:06:36
Is there any evidence for Newcastle telling Isak he could leave last summer?
{Ed025's Note - its all a bit he said she said Rigsby, nothing in writing which is a schoolboy error imo mate..
27 Aug 2025 13:11:00
Ed025, contracts are there to ensure the selling club gets some money for the transfer. Not one Liverpool fan will argue against Newcastle getting a very large pot of money for Isak - this is not like Real Madrid encouraging players to shaft their clubs for the former’s benefit.
My take is this: if there is a club willing to pay an agreeable transfer fee AND the player wants to go, let him go. If one of these two things are missing, the player stays. Clubs should never be financially shafted by players doing what Isak is doing, but equally players careers shouldn’t be curtailed (I use that honestly - Newcastle are a good but not top club) because their employers are disorganized. Further, clubs do not hesitate to shaft a player they decide they don’t want any longer.
{Ed025's Note - it is a 2 way street Lowe (or should i say should be), if a player puts in a transfer request and the buying club make a suitable offer then things can progress, this has not been the case here mate..
27 Aug 2025 13:28:21
That's what I'm surprised at Ed25, no transfer request - if he put that in, may have made it easier to facilitate
The talk then is he won't train, play erc but won't put a transfer request in cos he wants his % cut of the fee - not a good look and has potential made the whole affair that bit more sour in the eyes of fans.
{Ed025's Note - yeah Bill its all got a bit toxic now mate because the proper protocol has not been adhered to, im pretty sure hes not short of a few bob so im sure he could have taken a bit of a hit on his signing on bonus...we could always organize a go-fund-me page for him i suppose.. :)
27 Aug 2025 13:29:40
I think you’ve got me mixed up with someone else Ed, I’ve been waiting all my life to get something right. And I assure you, it would’ve got framed and put on plaque somewhere if it had happened sooner ;-) Wish I could be more like Ed001, who is usually right more than wrong. Perhaps in another lifetime I’ll support the blue side and be right about everything… but I’d rather puke ;-)
{Ed025's Note - if you ever get to the Hill Dickinson MB you will wish you were a Blue MB, the home of "scousers" and a monument befitting the best things this wonderful city has to offer mate.. :)
27 Aug 2025 15:16:52
An agreeable transfer hasn't been reached though.
And modern slavery? For not training or playing?
Give over ?.
27 Aug 2025 16:52:13
"Newcastle made this guy into a global superstar"
Can we stop talkimg bollocks here, please? Isak was already a star im the makimg way before to come to the toon
If anything, you can give the credit to Real Sociedad, Ed025, the omes who bet on him as a promosing 19/ 20yo and gave him a platform to shine against the messis and galacticos.
