To agree a fee and allow a medical then pull the plug is so unprofessional of Crystal Palace and their owner. They knew they would need a replacement center back since the transfer window opened and they left it until a couple of minutes till the end of the transfer window. I hope they know that this has cost them millions of pounds and Liverpool may not go back to buy the player. YNWA.

In my opinion, Glasner has acted appallingly in this.
For the record, I totally understand wanting to keep your better players, and I’m sure Palace fans are applauding their manager.
Glasner has made a big miscalculation here. 1. The players now know he will deny them a dream move if it benefits him, 2. They also know that he will be off like a flash if a top PL club offers him a job (the same move he alone denied to Guehi), and 3. Issuing ultimatums to your bosses leads to resentment and new problems down the line, not to mention being a turn-off to potential suitors.
Glasner and Guehi are off regardless next summer, and Palace are left with nothing.

The owner has fallen to pressure from the manager, who in turn will likely jump at any opportunity afforded to him from a 'bigger' club.
Parish had to be stronger imo. In terms of the structure of a club, football managers are equivalent to mid managers who are assigned the team. Can you imagine any large corporation buckling to a mid level managers request to quit because he wasn't happy with their decision? They'd likely laugh and show you the door.
Palace not selling Guehi potentially has long term implications for the club and their PSR and it's been driven by a manager who has got a little big for his boots.
To clarify, I get why Glasner wanted to keep him. But the club has to come first.

I’m with West Derby. Can’t do anything about it, it’s history now, we move forward and jf the opportunity arises in January no doubt we are well placed to take advantage. The player apparently only wants to join us and it will be Palaces last chance to get a fee so we could save a few quid in the process. We’ve got 4 fit firing centre backs so we’re good, and let’s be honest, could any of us have predicted ending the window with the signings we’ve made. Absolutely mad stuff. Credit to all within the club for making it happen. Building while we’re on top feels like FSG mean business.

I feel more sorry for the player. We will be more than fine without him. Just a shame for such a nice guy.

I think we have to ask ourselves this.
If we’d decided to sell Gomez because Guehi was coming in and Palace had pulled the plug last minute would we be happy for the club to still go ahead with the sale of Gomez?
I know what answer I’m giving to that question.
It’s a shame we didn’t get Guehi it was a good deal for us but let’s be honest he wouldn’t even be first choice right now if everyone is fit. Added to that if he had 3 years left on his contract and Palace wanted £70m for him would everyone be so keen to sign him? Absolutely not! He was an opportunistic signing that we didn’t necessarily need but was a no brainer at the price. There are much better centre backs out there.
If we get an even better deal in January then happy days but if not we’ll sign someone better next summer.

This is all about Liverpool missing out on a player. It happens, we signed several other targets so it's not the fiasco some are making it out to be.

Konate was better at the weekend.
VVD is regaining form.
Gomez will be a boost if he can stay fit.
YLFP might surprise a few, he is apparently very good already.
Endo can cover at CB too.
We are ok for now, obviously Konate will be off next summer ? and VVD is getting no younger.
Guehi and Bastoni please with YLFP too sounds like a winner to me.

I have no issue if Konate doesn't sign his contract and moves on for free. Of course, I'd rather we received a fee for him but he will have fulfilled his contract, helped us win the league and cover for Trent when he went walkies.

I think if this summer has taught us anything it’s taught us that players will come and go if we didn’t realise that already.
Konate has his own life to lead and if he sees that as being away from Liverpool then who are we to argue? As long as he gives his all whilst in a Liverpool shirt he’ll have my unwavering support.
By the way, I know Konate didn’t start the season very well but he is a far better player than Guehi. That’s why he’s got teams like Madrid and PSG interested in signing him.
I think some people just got a bit carried away by the thought of a shiny new toy but mark my words there is no way that Guehi was going to be first choice this season. He was being signed as cover for the centre back and full back positions.

My two favourite things about us winning the League last season were:
Macca remaining sat on the bench when the final whistle and just taking it in.
And reports of Konate sat in the seats of an almost empty ground with his daughter taking it all in.
It shows what it meant to them and it meant a lot to me. If someone wants to move on, they should but don't make out as though they never cared when they obviously did.
