Hi Ed's,
Been watching almost every game this season and I have to say I don't feel the comfort or confidence in the team to kill games.
There is always concern when opposition has a set piece, corner and even counter.
Am starting to question Arne Slot management. There was much talk of slot ball, corners etc etc, it all seems to be gone.
Do you believe we can compete for 2 trophies this season?
{Ed001's Note - yes.}

Let me ask you a question- is there any team in the premier league so far that has demonstrated the ability that you are speaking about? Arsenal looked very much like they were going to lose a game against Newcastle despite very obviously being the better team and Newcastle choosing to hold on for dear life rather than play, before Newcastle fell apart a bit for 10 minutes on 2 set piece plays. I can guarantee that every team in the league finds every game tough going for the most part, we weren't comfortable in the vast majority of games last year but we still won the league comfortably.
We have the players to improve on shortcomings from last year and a superb coach who continues to learn in and out of games. I think we'll be okay.

Hope the penny has dropped with Arne that bringing on Hugo for Isak was the wrong call in the CRAP-abao Cup, it should have been Danns and ye inform striker at home resting for palace, the premier league is more important than a cup game.
As it turned out BOTH learnt the hard way, totally avoidable in the first place, the biggest own goal we will probably score this season?
We needed our inform striker to be available for palace as it proved to be, we had a better chance of beating palace with ye top goal scorer than being without him!

Is this where we are after one defeat? All of the optimism with the stellar transfer window has completely gone and we are now questioning the manager who brought us number 20 last season?
A manager’s job is impossible because everyone seems to expect perfection which doesn’t exist. All of the best teams in the history of the game have had bad spells a lost football matches.
We have the best squad in the league and by far the best first 11 in the league. We can compete on all fronts but that’s not to say we’ll win every game.
Football, as with most sports is not an exact science and the problem is no matter how good you are the opposition will always try to beat you and sometimes they will. That doesn’t make us a bad team or Slot a bad manager it’s just how sport works. There’s a winner and a loser and you can’t be on the right side of that every single time.
I’d wait until Christmas and if we’ve lost another 5 or 6 games by then (which we won’t) and if Arsenal are miles ahead of us (which they won’t be) then we can start to question the manager.

Robbo, I dread to think what some of these guys are like down the pub. Mourning the passing of their pint after they have taken their first mouthful.
We have played our first 5 league games and Gary Neville is going ”now the lead is only two points! ”.
It’s utter madness.

"Is this where we are after one defeat? All of the optimism with the stellar transfer window has completely gone and we are now questioning the manager who brought us number 20 last season? "
Robboslostlegs, I guess so. One loss in 8 in all comps. (7 wins) and suddenly, it has become a day of mourning on this forum. Shoot, we even had someone on here saying that Arsenal have been made favorites for the title by the "bookies" (prolly from AFTV) despite them not being top. All this after SIX PL fixtures, btw.
Seems these chaps told themselves we would win all 38 games and that winning the title would be a procession with no ups and downs. If they said/ did all this and that then, they did that to themselves. That's their cross to bear. Me, Im good.

OliRed, Arsenal are favourites to win the PL with a lot of bookies.
Maybe get your facts right before having a go at posters.

As Bill Shankly once said in an interview "aye, here we are at the top of the league with all these problems".
We lost to Forest at home around the same stage last season and things didn't turn out too badly.
To be fair, it hasn't been half as bad on here as I thought it would be, I've seen more sensible posts than I have hysterical ones.
There's a hard core of good level heads on here, some good perspective being shown.

Where has this day of mourning come from.
Liverpool fans don’t need someone who doesn’t even watch games live and follows the club on YouTube talking down to them from their Ivory tower.

Rigsby, Arsenal being favs. for the title per some bookies is not breaking news. What I was saying was that the poster who said it was in panic mode for no reason when he/ she said it.

It was news to you, OliRed, otherwise you wouldn't have said it was prolly from AFTV.
You move the goalposts, if you want, though.

So more people have put money on Arsenal to win the league, than they have on Liverpool.
Woop-de-doo. Bookie’s favourites change like the wind.
