Cor Blimey.

Cooler heads are needed tbh. Yes things are not going well at the moment but everyone seems to have lost track of one thing. We are LFC, we as fans think we are above all other fans because of the way we act.

I'm not saying things ain't going badly at the moment because a blind man could even see that but all this negativity ain't good for the club and yourself. Things can and will change, I have faith it will get turned around. It's not blind faith, I can all see what the issues are. They just need fixing and sacking the manager won't do that.

So let's back the club, manager and players through the storm we are walking through because they need it more than ever.

The negativity comes from the players n management, the fans back them until we can't anymore . n we are at breaking point . do we accept this mediocre football or do we change it . can anyone see a turnaround in the players attitude or general play or can we see slot turn it back around .

highly doubtful on both . I hope im wrong . I like Slot but who could have predicted this fall from grace.

I'd be inclined to agree with you, fields, our manager can't have completely lost the plot in a matter of months, I'd like to believe that he has the sense to make the basic changes required to at least make us harder to score against. Fix that aspect of the team and everything else can follow from that. We can't have every team that comes up against us knowing that if we don't score early and they pack their box to keep us out, once they beat our press they have a free run at our goal, that is absolutely unacceptable.

If we were a gung-ho nonstop high pressing team with an absurdly high line like Barca, with forwards that are always trying to outscore the opposition, then it could be easier to accept if we conceded stupid goals regularly, because we could at least see what the identity of the team was, we loved that for a time with Klopp before he tightened things up enough for us to win the biggest prizes. The problem is that we don't even press, our transition is slow as molasses (yesterday there were at least two occasions when Ekitike was trying to run in behind on the break and Dom and Curtis decided to pause for a second and then pass it sideways instead), and our entire offensive plan is relying on Cody or Mo to turn their fullback and then cut the ball back into a box packed with opposition defenders.

I honestly didn't want to come on here after the game and I held off until the morning after, against my better judgment, because I didn't know if I could handle all the negativity, the game cost me hours of sleep already because I couldn't stop ruminating on it in bed. It's very hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel right now, but until there is no other conceivable reason to stop believing that we can stop the rot I guess I can hold off on panicking.

Does slot seem like he's going to fix it though, I'd like to think he would but with each game and no improvement i don't think he can or will fix things and the players look lost on the pitch, no fight, no hurry, no nothing. These bad performances have been going on for quiet a while now.

23 Nov 2025 13:12:20
That's the trouble though isn't it. We can all see what the issues are but we continue to play the same way every week when it's clearly not working. If Slot's not going to change it then how long do you just blindly back someone who seems to refuse to change anything?

Sorry TF, appreciate your posts but couldn’t disagree more. If we had lost 3 games in a row and played well I could understand a call for cooler heads, but we have lost 6 premier league games out of 7, were lucky to win games earlier in the season and are looking worse as the season goes on. The manager is responsible for the performances and seems to be willing to die on the hill that is his tactics and system. It is obvious to everyone the tactics are the major problem and the manager can’t or won’t see it. He may have won the league last season but you don’t stay at the top being sentimental. The league is now lost but let’s not throw the knockout stages of the CL away, let alone top 4 ( As once you are out of that it can be years before you get back in) . I just don’t see the point of waiting any longer.

Another thing to consider is relegation. 3 points out of 21 is relegation form with only Leeds and Wolves having gained less points in that period. It would be arrogant to think we are too big to go down. The more I think about it the madder it seems to stick with Slot.

Question, is he the Manager? Head coach? Or are they one of the same?
My question being, has the club gone down the path of some European clubs, they buy the players and say coach them?
If Isak hadn't cost 125 Mil would he be starting ahead of an in form and fit Ekiteke! Is slot under any form of pressure to play the expensive purchases!
Slot does have selection headaches with regards to who his best 11 is, however they are nicer headaches to have given the quality at his disposal then some of our previous Managers had, they would have loved the headache.

I really hope he finds the solution soon, in the meantime; we turn up every week, support the team, the Manager, the club and live by the anthem of you'll Never Walk Alone.

No amount of making a circle holding hands and singing kumbaya is going to fix this. This is getting to beyond being a bad patch. How many more abject defeats is palatable?

23 Nov 2025 13:39:46
I'd like to believe that he has the sense to make the basic changes required to at least make us harder to score agains‘

When? Do you not think it should have been done long before now? And at what stage do you start panicking? When we are out of the PL race, top 4, top 6?

23 Nov 2025 13:44:33
The fans do back the club and heavily support the team but we are not stupid Thefields. We can feel and see it’s not working so it’s really nothing to do with backing or not supporting it’s to do with knowing it’s going wrong and wanting the manager to adjust not double down on a mistake.
Up the pool.

He’s officially Head Coach, with two other lead coaches working alongside him. It’s been said he has input into signings, but the main decision maker on transfers and contracts is Hughes. I’d think in this scenario he could choose to play who he wants, but obviously if results went downhill and none of the big buys were playing he’d be out the door really quickly.

When seemingly none of it is working, and even things like fitness look a problem, then I’d be looking across the piece. Coaching change first, but if that doesn’t resolve things quickly then Hughes would have to go as well.

23 Nov 2025 13:52:12
Problem is PB he has done exactly the opposite. Drops the player who has shown the most fight and doesn't change or adapt the system after it failing so badly numerous times.

It wasn't even his squad he won the league with, we should improve with the money spent. Ok I get there is a transition but we look woeful and it's not changing. At Anfield and we don't even look a threat!

23 Nov 2025 13:55:57
The reality is we are losing to pretty much any Premier League team and are shirking challenges. When that happens, it rarely ends well for the coach/ manager.

I like Slot. I like what he did last season, despite not getting the player he really wanted in Zubimendi. My only criticisms of him last season were (i) not tapping into Anfield's energy and (ii) not rotating that midfield which ended up running out of legs by Feb, just when we needed them for PSG and Newcastle.

I also think he handled himself really well through the onslaught of pressers relating to big star contracts, mentions of his predecessor and the Jota tragedy.

I also have some sympathy for him for the summer transfer window. He didn't choose the departures of Trent and Lucho - which are clearly hurting us at the moment. I am also not convinced he asked for Frimpong and Kerkez as the fullbacks. Lastly, it was pretty clear that Guehi was a crucial piece in the puzzle for the build up play. Not signing him has been costly.

Regardless, once players shirk tackles, it's pretty much over.

TheFields, the people are saying what they are saying and giving their opinions on it. That is not negativity. That is how reality is being felt. Just my opinion.

23 Nov 2025 14:12:32
Things haven't been good since before Plymouth thefileds. This has been going on long enough without being fixed. We have been playing 'iffy' for quite some time, except we went from scraping wins to getting battered every match. A change is needed.

23 Nov 2025 14:22:26
Absolute nonsense he signed off on players.

{Ed001's Note - you have admitted you don't know, so why call it nonsense? Nonsense is your attitude based on pure ignorance and decision to have an entrenched belief even though admitting you are ignorant.}

The negativity doesn't come just from the results. Klopp had a similar, although not quite this bad, at one point but there was never a thought about getting rid because the plan, the identity of the team, the willingness to improve through hard work was still there for all to see, we just lost games of footy, which can happen.
Under Slot currently there is no clear plan, no identity to the team, no willingness to improve, no hard work or effort and it is obvious. The high octane performances against Villa and RM allegedly came about due to players telling Slot that was how they wanted to play, so if true that means the poor form is solely down to the manager and his stubbornness.

So the negativity is completely justified in my opinion. I want the best for the club, not any one individual on the payroll for not achieving what they are being paid to do. I had these same concerns and made these same comments after 5 out of 5 at the start of the year.
The only reason Slot hasn't already gone in my opinion is because there isn't an obvious highly reputed candidate to replace him with.
