Hi all I know we won but not much mention of the assault on Wirtz by Gomez and it only being a yellow card. How could that be called a yellow card it was a red all day it was near enough the same as the one on Maca v Man city by Doku when every man and his dog screamed red card and penalty but no he was given a yellow and no pen .

VAR is so poor it has squeezed the life out of the game so much so that the enjoyment has gone out of the game for me five minute wait to see if the goals count . YNWA.

So a way of looking at it @Albey is that there were two fouls that were quite similar and both got the same result - a yellow card. Isn’t that consistency?

Doku wasn't given a yellow card, was he?

15 Dec 2025 07:37:36
He wasn't, it wasn't even called as a foul if I remember correctly.

Nah Rigsby, to give a yellow card it would have to have be deemed a foul so would have then been a penalty - Oliver deemed he got the ball so nothing given

Weirdly then, on the PGMOL website next season, on the section that dealt with dangerous and high tackles/ play the PGMOL thought it a good idea then to use an image of the Doku/ MacAllister incident as an example of this.

I don't think he was booked, Rigsby. If he had have been that would have meant it was a foul and a pen. Or am I looking at it too logically? Either way, it's a s*it show.

Was so Corrupt that Doku challenge. Just plain obvious red card and penalty.

Michael Oliver is as bent as a bottle of crisps. Dirty ref.

15 Dec 2025 12:44:01
That was dangerous play. Catching studs in the chest is always reckless and violent conduct and had a red been given, not sure anyone would have complained. The Doku one was clear as day, as well. Stonewall penalty (and potential red for Doku) on one count. Red card on the other on Wirtz, IMO.

Same goes for Mings a couple of years back when he raked his studs on Gakpo's chest and only got a yellow cos he was "going for the ball", as if that has ever prevented someone from getting sent off.

{Ed025's Note - i see the Liverpool police are out in force again, every other team gets away with stuff bar us..boo-hoo-hoo.. :)

Ed25, read the post again. Nothing I said was wrong and none of what you said is in my comment. All facts.

The "boo-hoo-hoo is on you, mate.

{Ed025's Note - its definitely on me Oli, i dont like all the moaning and trying to make out that you are not getting a fair crack of the whip while other teams are (especially your direct rivals), i would be saying the same thing to City fans (if i knew any) if they complained that McAllister should be sent off every game for multiple counts of simulation mate, all a bit cringeworthy to me..

West Derby I have always read your post with interest but the point was they were both red cards Doku and Gomez chest high tackles . Have you ever pulled a football kit on?
Even in amateur football that sort of high tackle is a red card.

Giving out yellow cards does not justify it is the right punishment! It just says to me the ref and var are incompetent in their task of refereeing to the rules and the safety of the players. YNWA.
