Good result against a form team. No goals conceded and the unbeaten run continues. Yes there was some booing at the game, but I left thinking that we are tighter than Hulk Hogan’s wheelnuts and we are going very deep in the CL.

It was a game between 2 teams with a similar record, and they were the only ones who looked like they had a plan, which almost worked.
We didn't lose, we didn't concede, so we're all good.

In 8 games we have managed to play 1 good game. Its just not good enough. Results will not improve playing like this. I can see us losing to fulham and Arsenal sadly.

I've only seen the highlights but the Sunderland and City game was very entertaining. Ours was not.
We need a few new players. Whether Slot thinks that or will get them is a different matter.

In amongst the gloom there are quite a few optimists on this site, looking for grains of improvement. I end up getting drawn into it myself and live in hope for next week, or the next signing.
One thing is for sure though the football we’re playing is dire, and has been all season. We see glimpses of hope from players like Wirtz but not enough from most of them most weeks.
In bad times it’s often simply the case that the team or squad that’s been assembled just isn’t good enough, almost regardless of the coaching. The coaching fine tunes the talent.
While I think this squad is capable of better in terms of style of play I look around the team and see quite a few 5 or 6 out of 10 level players most weeks. This isn’t new with a number of them but they were carried by Mo, Ali, and VVD previously, or weren’t at the club.
Part of the issue now is tactical but I think three or four of them just aren’t good enough, and won’t win us premier league trophies as we haven’t got exceptional players alongside them anymore.
This team reminds me of Houllier era, a few talents but over the longer stretch just not good enough to win premier league trophies. We always seemed a few players away from having the right team, which is where we are now unless we act in the window.
This isn’t entitlement, this is about a feeling of Deja Vu when we slipped our standards in the past. I hope I’m wrong.

Glimpses of hope from Wirtz. very true Hugo, but those glimpses are when he plays that free role.
Against Wolves, he assisted and scored after playing in the free role.
Last night, we looked dangerous when he was in that free role
In both games however, in the 2nd half, he was banished to the left wing, and we were not able to cause many problems thereafter.
If Slot would simply play players in their best positions, we would be better off, even with these boring tactics- but he refuses to even do that.

I think that the balance of the team is wrong and the summer transfer window has been disappointing, so far.
In the middle of the park, we have three number tens. Mac, Szob and Wirtz. We can't play them all but keep trying to. I will say that I've been mostly disappointed by Wirtz but maybe I was expecting too much.
It's early days- and injuries haven't helped- but the summer investment has left us more with more questions than answers.
We still don't know who the fullbacks should be, we sign another number ten and two number nines. And we still don't know what Slot's best team or way of playing is. We did know that relatively early last season.
Time will tell, I suppose, or someone else will get a chance to do something with them.

There are glimmers of hope - we are no longer shipping 10 goals in four games. The turnaround was bound to be slow.
I don’t know who you expect to want to coach us or play for us - Guehi isn’t coming now, and neither are Alonso or Enrique. Pie in the sky stuff.

Sadly Ed01 and @ArAy, it is posts like ItsSaulGravy's that the rest are being afflicted with on a daily basis, trying to gaslight us into ignoring the utterly rediculous.
And FYI @ItsSaulGravy, I did watch the City/ Sunderland game from start to finish and it was absolutely lights out. Two teams going blow for blow with a draw being a fair result cos either team could've won it. City already smoked us so not sure what your comparison is even about, exactly.
And if anyone thinks we are going to get anything from Sun. with how well they play and how hard they work (coupled with how abject we play then, you are in for a shock. I promise you that.
If you want to lower your expectations all the way to having next to none then pls, do you, mate. But don't come on here trying to wag your finger at those who legitimately disagree with your (lack of) standards esp. with receipts to prove it.

Totally agree Ed01, Klopp would get a great deal more out of this squad than what we are currently seeing, and his tactics would be attacking with bravery to try the forward critical pass, not this dross.
What we are seeing now (as opposed to the first two thirds of last season) is Slot's ideas and tactics, which are simply not good enough.
