Hi ed001
Do you think if the anfield crowd started singing for Alonso the board would act. Remember towards the end of Hodgsons reign the fans always chanting for Dalglish.
{Ed001's Note - if the fans clearly turn on Slot, they will have to make a change.}

Towards the end of the Hodgson reign, the Kop sang "Hodgson for England".
I would be absolutely amazed if the Kop were to sing for Alonso, certainly in any significant number.
I agree with Ed, if there were to be any form of hostility towards Slot, the owners would have to act.

That would be awful and pathetic. I hope not.

I suspect there will be boos if we don't win but I can't see it turning hostile.
Maybe when Newcastle are winning and their fans start signing "you're getting sacked in the morning" some corners of the ground might join in but I can't see our fans starting anything.

I don't think it should get to that point especially at our club as the mangers always get backed by the fans.
And I will say I've been Slot out since November because it is just not working but he deserves to be remembered for what he did last season.
but the longer this goes on the more it effects his legacy with us especially if we fail to finish in the top 5.
If that does happen I would Blame Hughes and Edwards though for not acting after the 1-4 lose to PSV.

A-L-O! N-S-O! It's Alonso! Xabi Xabi Alonso!
I'm at the game tomorrow night, so will be interested to see what the atmosphere is like in person. It sounded absolutely dead on the TV every week for about 12 months.

Bit of an exaggeration there, MK, to say 12 months. The atmosphere in the build up to us winning the league and thereafter was very good.
I had a ticket for tomorrow, but I'm not going. Will be at Newcastle and City. I think these 3 games will determine whether he's there for the rest of the season.

It's chicken and egg @MK. The crowd want the players to give them something to cheer about and the players want us to get the atmosphere up to get them going. The players have given us very little to cheer about of late and it doesn't take much.
They can start small. Just putting a tackle in rather than jogging back alongside the opposition. The ball is very much in their court (pitch? ).

That would be the most cringeworthy thing we could possibly do.

That's quite an indictment of a management that has to be forced into decisions that they are competent enough, and paid extremely well to carry out on their own, without fans having to do things that end up making the club look quite bad. And management lacking testicular bravery.

I think the owners would act should any discontent be shown to Slot.
They'd play the games behind closed doors ????.

'I can't see our fans starting something" ????.
