Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if we manage to get a draw or even a win against PSG, because that has been the theme of Liverpool this season. It's like we go on a mediocre, uninspiring run of form with draws and losses, and then we reach that one match where everyone says it's going to be Slot's last chance to turn the season around or he'll get sacked. Somehow, we manage to win that match. Most people then say that win will be the turnaround we need this season.
And then we go on another mediocre run with some draws and losses. People start talking about Slot getting the sack again. We reach that one match where many say if we lose, Slot is gone. We manage to win, and most get optimistic again.
The same thing happens again, rinse and repeat. You almost have to admire the consistency, though.

Nah, we're getting slaughtered.

Rafa won the CL in 2005 but lost 19 games. Slot has lost 15 till now.
Believe.
We are def on track to lose 19 games this season. ?

It doesn't matter now. Slot shouldn't be retained for a number of reasons beyond performances. He just needs to go and the club to move on.

Can't see it, OP.
It will take just 20-30 minutes of sustained PSG pressure and we will fold defensively yet again.
I predict a hammering 4-0 or maybe 4-1.

On a positive note, Darwin at least the club will save money on that trophy room extension they will no longer need to build.

Before the City game, I would have agreed with you, but this team looks utterly broken right now, all it took was going one goal down for us to start feeling sorry for ourselves, and for all organisation to go out the window. Then again, we looked that way against Forest and PSV too.
The advantage of the PSG game is that I'm sure the players, regardless of Slot, will want to give a good account of themselves under the lights. If we can get a 0-0 or even just suffer a 1-0 defeat, I think it would be a good result to take back to Anfield.

I can see why the OP would go with this outcome.
This is what Slot and the team have been aiming for... CL is the holy grail this season.
I fully expect a totally different LFC performance tomorrow compared to the City game.
Should we lose tomorrow, but keep the score down to a 2 goal difference at max, then the return leg will be very interesting.
A loss with a difference of 3 goals or more, then that's most likely curtains for us in the CL this year.
Again, I only say this because this team is putting all of its eggs in the CL basket.

Cafu, please, stop comparing the 2005 CL winning team and its manager to this one and the seasons they had. Don't let your brain be tricked by nostalgia, my friend.
That team was not flashy, was bereft of top players etc. I get it. However, they made up for all of that with very experienced players who had won things like Hamman, Dudek, Hyppia (won the Cup treble), Finnan, an up and coming baller and leader in Gerrard (won the Cup treble), young Xabi, Rise, and Luis Garcia.
These guys weren't scrubs, man.
Players managed by a very successful manager in Rafa (levels above Slot, btw) who knew how to win in Europe and just game off two La Liga titles and an EL with Valencia. Two different scenarios, teams and managers.
Now regarding PASG, what will be will be and we will all be here to see it. What I won't be doing is getting my hopes up or down. Nope, not doing that.

OliRed, Fully agree, was about to make a very similar comment, spot on.

Against PSG, we will attack from the off, get the ball around their area, won't get a shot off, so the ball will be played backwards and end up back with our keeper. This will happen several times, then PSG will break away, score against the run of play, then we will fold like a pack of cards. Slot will come out and say we had 70% of the ball and PSG played with a low block and we could not break them down, but they are a very good team.
We have Fulham the weekend, we will make sure the lads are up for that match. I will give them two days off to rest and will train Saturday morning before I fly off to Ibiza after the game.

Thanks, Chewy. I know people wanna be positive and all that despite no sign of anything to be positive about, based off of the evidence we all acknowledge, in fairness.
However, like I said, let us not allow ourselves to be tricked by nostalgia just cos we wanna be positive and want the outcome we want.
If we must dream then we should do so with our eyes open under these circumstances. Doing the contrary will only lead to higher levels of disappointment should things go bad.

I like to think I'm a glass half full kind of guy and an eternal optimist. We will only get beaten 3-0.
07 Apr 2026 13:27:51
Why would said poster(s) be bothered with what the result is when they've already stated they have better things to do with their time than watch LFC game.

Oli mate the joke went past you like my nan goes past my blind gdad.
Never said we will win the CL only said we will def loose 19 games. that's the only comparison that will stand?
