Ed's 001, 025 & Seamus. Can you give me your honest opinions on which position Liverpool will finish in the coming premiership season? Thanks

{Ed001's Note - top 4 I think this season, it will take Iraola a while to sort the team out so 3rd, maybe 2nd as Citeh are in a complete restart. Have to have Arsenal as favourites as things stand.}

Set piece fc will be at it again until the league gets hold of their keeper obstruction tactics.

22 Jun 2026 19:53:45
If Arsenal do back-to-back titles, their fans will be insufferable!

22 Jun 2026 20:02:19
Will be insufferable? Will remain insufferable.

22 Jun 2026 20:08:03
They already think they are the greatest side ever even with their shamefully low points tally.

Prime Pep and Jurgen were pushing 100 points per season.

22 Jun 2026 20:34:06
We messed up though. Years of waiting for City to collapse and Pep leave, supposed to be poised ready, and we absolutely s*** the bed.

22 Jun 2026 20:48:49
Lol RolaCola. ?

22 Jun 2026 20:57:48
If Arsenal win back-to-back, we'll have to invent with a new word; 'insufferable' simply won't cut it.

22 Jun 2026 21:22:01
The age profile of the players we are signing/targeting makes it difficult to see beyond top 4 for next season.

22 Jun 2026 21:45:07
Champions for me! By some margin.
Iraola is the right manager for us. He plays aggressive attacking football and he improves players.
We already have some very talented attacking players. Imagine Isak being better than he was for Newcastle. Imagine Wirtz being better than he was at Leverkusen. Imagine Dom Szob being better than he is now.

Imagine Grav being better than he was in the title winning season. That's before we start talking about new signings. We are going to be tough to contain next season.

I'm not worried by Arteta's lot, they don't play good football.
Carrick is not going to do anything at ManU.
Citeh will struggle with Maresca in charge.

22 Jun 2026 22:28:33
I think we should win the League! If we get the right players in, and we can get a tune out of Isak, and, to a lesser extent, Wirtz.
If Iraola can do that, then we are in with a hell of a chance. There is no Man City of years gone by to beat, so it's all to play for in my opinion.

22 Jun 2026 22:39:52
I go into every season thinking we'll win the league, but this season I'm sure of it.

We have a squad who should've won the league last season, but for many reasons it didn't work out that way.

Now, with a new manager who will have us fit and organised, with some new, exciting players, we will rip it up.

Isak will be fit and Wirtz has a year in the PL under his belt. No matter what happened last season, they are 2 of the best players in Europe and they will prove it.

Believe, guys, it's happening.

22 Jun 2026 22:45:02
I'll set out at the start of the season thinking we'll win it. With Iraola, current players, incoming players and coaches, it'll be hard to beat us. We're the champions of 25, after all. We ain't no mugs!

22 Jun 2026 22:54:15
If we get the right signings, avoid crushing injuries and play to the potential our players have, I expect us to be in the mix. However, I'll be happy with a good attitude and to attack each game the Liverpool way.

23 Jun 2026 00:28:03
I just want to enjoy watching Liverpool again.

I hope Iraola embraces the fact he is the manager of LFC, and continues to bring the football style, that has served him well so far in his career.

Knowing that he is big on fitness is also a massive plus, as the levels last season were unacceptable.

Maresca replacing Pep, now that is surely mission impossible.

23 Jun 2026 00:33:41
Loving the positivity, Ron. ? I'll back you mate. ?

23 Jun 2026 00:49:02
I'd be happy with front foot, entertaining football first and foremost, but I echo what others have said here that I think we have a very good squad that, let off the leash and with a few additions, can be a challenge.
I won a bet with a colleague that Slot would be gone, and have another one on that we will finish top 2.

23 Jun 2026 02:44:24
Thanks for reply Ed's. I'm 100% certain we'll come first or second. I could be wrong and willing to take pelters if it doesn't happen. I just think every team in the top 6 is going through a transitional stage and we have to capitalize.

With stellar signings and buying players for the right positions I fail to see how we won't be successful with the brand of football our new leader plays. I refuse to believe Arteta has back to back title wins in his armory

{Ed078's Note - agreed. I can see Spurs will finishing top 6 as well.

23 Jun 2026 05:32:18
Good to see the positivity back. Just over a month now for the first pre season game.

23 Jun 2026 10:27:52
LFC08, that is not true. We didn't "wait" for Pep to leave. We pummelled him when he was here. Twice.

We also smoked him in the CL, FA Cup, won the CL before him, and played more CL finals than he did. Wait? Nah, that's not a thing.

23 Jun 2026 10:58:56
I won't count out United. They are a couple of signings away from a title challenge squad.
I think we will be in the mix for the title next season, too.
I don't think Arsenal are favourites. They surely won't be scoring goals on set pieces next year, as teams will have that figured out.

Their open play football was as bad as ours, just that they had miles better defence than us last year.

So
1. LFC
2. United
3. City
4. Chelsea

Arsenal will have a disaster season in my opinion.

23 Jun 2026 09:45:54
@ED078; Spurs have a long way to go to finish in next seasons top 6. Possible but highly improbable.
