Only one candidate needed, we don't need to replace both as Edwards was brought in for the multi-club model and Hughes was just his sock puppet.

Same prediction I made back in May, Juian Ward (if he wants it).
Not saying he's the best man for the job or a top candidate; I just think that's the way the club will go. If FSG really have an exit strategy lined up, I think they'll favour a smooth transition with a company man over bringing in somebody new who may unnecessarily rock the boat. Things may change post-takeover.

What happened to Dan Ashworth? He was promising at Newcastle. I know he did join the Manc, but is he any good?

There’s an article on the BBC sports page that takes a look at potential options.

Lfc8, Always wondered why Nunez did that Pepto-Bismol ad, couldn't have needed the money surely, maybe he wanted some freebies?
Thought it was only me that spotted him as no one ever mentioned it!!

They don’t have to be called a DOF, but any club needs a top exec to run the club’s scouting, youth, and transfer policy. Arsenal fell to bits when Dein stood down, and the same happened to Man United. Chelsea have also gone haywire since the execs left.

A manager handles the day-to-day tactics, the exec runs a club’s overall strategy. I would argue that we have been accidentally successful since 2019, without someone handling the direction of recruitment etc.

A manager manages the players. If you've ever managed, you know that the people side of management takes up a significant part of the role. Tactics and strategies fall in line afterwards if you manage your players correctly, but it must be difficult managing a load of millionaires and egos.

Regardless of role or job, if they don't like you they're never going to play/work for you, and professional or not, it is a simple human trait.
