I hope we and others sue man city. We should sue them for at least 500M. Its not just the titles and CL we lost its also the amount we had to spend to compete because city could spend half a billion every window. They invented the Premier League tax.

60 point loss this year.
5 year ban from Premier League
UEFA punishment to follow.
If the appeal and lose, punishments are doubled.

As a friend of mine said when u consider southampton where expelled from play offs last season for taking a peak at them training goodness knows the punishment city will get.
It will have to be v severe.

I would settle for a 4 points deduction for each charge spread evenly over a 4 year period. Take them down to the national league.
Also the owners have to sell the club and banned from English football, they are not fit for purpose to ever again own a football team as a result.

Lets make the punishment fun. They start every game 3-0 down for the next 5 years. At least we could see some interesting games.
{Ed025's Note - David Moyes would still play for a draw.. :)

I wonder if Chelsea will seek compensation from them ??
Good call @RonK - back in the good old days of Rugby League. If you got sent off, appealed against the decision and lost the appeal, the punishment was increased. I think that would be reasonable in this instance. The independent panel assessing the charges certainly seem to think that City were telling porkies.

What if one on the punishments is, they have to give 1 player to every Premier League team. Worst teams take the better players.
Would love to see what Haaland does at Coventry under Frank Lampard.

City are the only club whose fans talk about which Barrister they're signing in the transfer window.

If the charges are upheld against Manchester City, this is my take on what should happen:
- All titles that were awarded to them during the time frame stipulated to be expunged, no titles to be awarded the next best placed team for the league standings (ala Serie A 2004/05), arguments could be made for losing cup finalists.
- Financial penalties, all TV money and prize money awarded for each year to be recovered and distributed evenly between all teams that were part of each league season as well as an extra 10% of all monies to be levied as a fine and distributed to EFL clubs. Losing Cup finalists to be awarded the payouts that the winner received.
- Transfer Ban - 3 seasons, squad to be wage capped.
- All entities that comprised the City Football Group during the time stipulated to be found to be unfit owners and give the choice to either divest City from their portfolio of clubs and be banned from owning another Premier League club or the club will be expelled from the Premier League, should they choose to sell, fan groups are invited to form as the new owners with City Group agreeing to leave funding plans and funds to complete said plans in place.
- if expulsion occurs, then loss of money that the remaining teams would lose due to revenue streams to be paid by City Football Group. EFL not obligated to accept registration from next season.
That being said, I do feel for the fans who've been at Maine Road back in the day when they were the absolute s****, they felt the highs of winning, shame their owners have so far found to be fiddling.

Maybe City would have been better off trying to force super league to happen, lol.
26 Sep 2026 11:44:43
I would love to know Klopps take on city being found guilty?
26 Sep 2026 11:47:07
I read that through the process city have failed to provide documentation / evidence. If this true the punishment should be more due to non compliance throughout the duration of the investigation.
If you look T the punishments dished out over last few years they should receive harsh unprecedented punishment. In my view severe points deduction which leads to relegation. Transfer ban for a number of seasons, stripped titles and owners banned from running the club in prem. That is bare minimum. Then UEFA to ac.
26 Sep 2026 19:34:23
You've got to consider Chelsea's "non" punishment too.
I think it'll be something trivial.
26 Sep 2026 20:24:17
Ron, totally different circumstances. Chelsea self-reported whereas city are guilty of trying to hide theirs and the extent that city cheated is still larger.
Not saying Chelsea's shouldn't have been punished, but I just don't see that information the unprecedentedly massive penalty that city should get.
26 Sep 2026 20:33:42
Come now; under no circumstances would such a course of action render us greater than we are. It could well have no little effect to the detriment of our own wellbeing.
26 Sep 2026 11:12:44
Made me laugh Ed025, regarding David Moyes.
26 Sep 2026 12:16:21
Just spat my brew out at that Moyes comment Ed hahaha.
Look on the bright side mate, at least you didn't blow £120 Mill on Germany's next generational talent: Hmmmmmmmmm.
{Ed025's Note - there is that i suppose CH.. :)
