Maybe a bit pie in the sky but I wonder if there is a plan B where Nunez goes, Isak (Isaac, Isaq etc) stays and we sign Rodrygo as a Diaz hybrid striker wide player type?
Al Hilal are ready to submit an offer for Darwin according to this mornings reports.

If we don’t sign Isak this summer, I think the club wait for him like VVD. From reading this page, I get the impression the plan was Kerkez, Frimpong and Isak. They were who the club identified for our positions that needed upgrading the most. Wirtz was an opportunity we couldn’t turn down and had the head room to make work.
Previously we have moved on to plans B and C and they worked out (Salah), but I get the impression it’s Isak or wait. This is purely a hunch though.

Honestly, I just don't see a road back for Isak now. The reputational damage with the fans has been done. I assume it's all part of the plan to allow Newcastle to save some face and that we now have to do our part and complete the deal for the lad.

Is Nunez interested in Saudi though? That is the question.
I really do think he’s going to stay. Unless a European side stump up our asking price which seems unlikely.

Was the plan to lose 4 off the 6 forwards also @Wyred (Nunez, Diaz, Chiesa, Jota)? If we end up with only a 20 year old kid who hasn’t scored more than 15 goals in Germany as the only option upfront then we have massively downgraded imo.

We absolutely need another striker if isak isn’t joining but I’m really not feeling the Rodrigo rumours, it just doesn’t feel like a good fit, admittedly I don’t know much about him I’d rest her keep Nunez.

While Darwin's preference is to stay in Europe, he has shown he was willing to move to Saudi in January in the middle of our title race. So it is safe to assume he would still consider it if the European options are exhausted. I think he and the club need a fresh start.

Nunez to Saudi looks to be gathering pace and the Inzaghi link making it more appealing for him. If he leaves I can only think it is because we are confident of signing Isak. With no other realistic alternatives out there I can't see a situation where we would sell him and not sign Isak as it would leave us far too light through the middle.

Obviously no one can force Darwin out MK but he'd do well to remember most of last season. Arne does not fancy him and a couple of pre-season goals aren't going to change that. And as has been said about a load of players this summer its a WC yearand he needs to be playing more than the odd 5 mins for us to get there.

Most folk on here had knives out for Diogo before his untimely passing. To say we weren’t planning on losing Jota is just a case of trying to say the right thing rather than being honest.
If jota and his brother were still with us I’d say there would be a very highly probability that we would have moved him on.
Not trying to be disrespectful as his loss is far bigger than a football team, but ignoring reality for the sake of looking virtuous is wrong in all walks of life.

Nunez will barely play if he stays. He barely played last year.
At least in Saudi he stays match fit in prep for the world cup.
As is Salah, Gakpo, Wirtz and Hugo are the main 4. Dom can play in the front 3, and then there is Rio.

Jota would have been an excellent back up striker an lots of supporters really rated him highly. His main issue was staying fit which means he couldn't be relied upon as a first choice striker. A back up role would have suited him as he didn't need to be relied upon to play almost every game.
Sadly we'll never know but saying we'd probably have moved him on is just your opinion and not facts mate.

I suggest you consider two things:
1). What terrible fans say on here about a player matters not a jot to the club.
2). Go and watch last seasons goals, notice how involved Diogo was and realise your fetishization about transfers and your desire to see them happen is not important. What the player does on the pitch is, and Diogo did plenty regardless of you not wanting that to be so in order to service your fixation with transfers.

We will sign Isak and we have zero interest in Rodrygo.
Nunez has 2 options, waste a year not playing with the WC on the horizon or go to Saudi, as no other club are willing to match his valuation.

At least two of Jota’s lengthy layoffs were be abuse of crush injuries. The second against Chelsea was nothing to do with fitness.

Why - where did the fixation on transfers bit come from? I’ve not mentioned anything about transfers.
For the record I’m not fussed for izak and wirtz will make me squirt.
Also jota was a top player and the best goal scorer at the club. Still however, I firmly believe we would be looking to move him on this summer given the ambitions we clearly have and will have had for a while now.
I suggest you do 2 things.
1. Change your username
2. Post some good stuff.
Hopefully you’ll go down better on here and might sort your self esteem.
