Bradley and Gomez both travel along with Leoni, apparently no Macca tonight.

Agree13 Disagree0

25 Aug 2025 09:25:15
For a bruising encounter we need our best bruiser - Macca not seen in video of arriving team, and if not playing he will be missed.

25 Aug 2025 09:35:49
Massively missed if true.

25 Aug 2025 10:16:33
It's Macca's wife's turn to have a baby, apparently.

25 Aug 2025 10:12:24
Very worrying if true.

25 Aug 2025 10:27:15
hopefully gravenberch back to take that slot as he was missed more.

25 Aug 2025 10:47:26
Szoboszlai can be more of a bruiser than Gravenberch, I think. I'd assign Szoboszlai to watch Joelinton before assigning Gravenberch, for effectiveness and risk of Gravenberch getting injured (which would not be ideal despite having Endo) .

25 Aug 2025 10:49:35
Grav is of course back. It will be upto Jones to cover Macca.

25 Aug 2025 10:57:51
“Very worrying if true” - we have a brilliant squad for a reason you big fraidy cat.

Ryan

Dom Wirtz

Salah, Hugo, Gakpo

It’s hardly a weak side. Players miss games.

25 Aug 2025 11:11:05
We need a mobile LFC delivery suite that can be towed by the team coach.

25 Aug 2025 11:20:25
Dom will play rb.

25 Aug 2025 11:31:47
Am sure Slot has a plan to at least match Newcastle in midfield. Then let our forwards win the game.

25 Aug 2025 11:32:19
Could be jones at RB like in the Derby last season. I expect Endo to come on the second half in CM.

25 Aug 2025 11:51:41
Gomez will be right back you big silly’s, Bradley has also travelled.

25 Aug 2025 12:37:06
Szob to watch Joelinton?
That's a mismatch if ever I saw one.
We don't have any bruisers in midfield. I wish we did but we don't; as long as they can play, as well.
That's the important bit and what Slot prefers but I can't see us being more physical than Newcastle.

25 Aug 2025 12:52:45
He needs to sign Tuilangi, BundiAki and Fatima Whitbread - add some brawn to the side because that’s what wins titles, massive brawny players.

Ignore all those technically excellent players, get John Cena and the Million Dollar Man in central midfield. Take Joelinton out with a Yokohama Power Slam.

25 Aug 2025 12:54:32
It’s the bench and options that worry me….

25 Aug 2025 12:58:13
Agree with Rigsby, we are a bit soft in midfield. So we have to be clever. I would be getting the players to bait Joelinton and Guimareas then make the most of any fouls, Joelinton in particular he has a short temper and isn’t particularly bright. Get him carded or sent off and they’re treading eggshells, then game just becomes a bit easier.

25 Aug 2025 13:12:56
If Joelinton was any less evolved, he’d have no thumbs.

25 Aug 2025 13:17:32
I think you’re all underestimating our midfield. We have a title winning midfield. They don’t.

They’re good but they’re not as good as ours.

We have an infinitely better team than Newcastle but we have to deal with the occasion. It’ll be hostile and it’ll be a battle.

In the Cup final they wanted it more, we have to make sure that doesn’t happen again tonight.

25 Aug 2025 13:34:27
Yeah, we need to be big tenacious battle midfield warrior team go now.

Like PSG:

Introducing Vitinha, six and half stone of rampant muscle, and Neves, somehow even smaller than Vitinha but able to punch the sun into small bits and Fabian Ruiz who looks like his girlfriend cheats on him a lot and he’s too soft to say anything but is actually Roy Keane/ Kent double hard…or is this too recent?

Behold the behemoths of Man City, Titan extreme model delta, David Silva…. meganaught destructor bot erm, it’s a ginger called Kevin…and Fernandinho…yes him as well.

I mean, they’re the two best midfields I’ve seen in a long time and they are all:

ABSOLUTE UNITS.

25 Aug 2025 13:40:01
Sure Mark 08, If Macca isn't playing then no way in the world is Slot going to sacrifice another midfield player, especially against a team that whos biggest strength is there midfield.

25 Aug 2025 13:50:43
LiverpoolFC8 - is there something you need to tell us?

“it’s Macca’s wife’s turn to have a baby, apparently”

“Very worrying if true”.

Do you need to be worried? ?.

25 Aug 2025 13:53:09
Endo, have you actually seen any close up pics that prove Joelinton has thumbs?
AI works wonders. Apparently.

25 Aug 2025 15:24:12
If it's true about Mac's Mrs having a baby, couldn't she have picked a non-match day, given that about 50% of births in the UK are either induced or elective caesareans?

Brings to mind Bill Shankly's immortal lines "Of course I didn't take my wife to see Rochdale as an anniversary present. It was her birthday. Would I have got married in the football season? Anyway, it was Rochdale reserves. "

25 Aug 2025 15:38:38
We are now having a pop at when a players wife gives birth.

Say it with me: “Terrible Fans”.

25 Aug 2025 16:17:09
I don’t know about thumbs flash, but Joelinton definitely has grazes on his knuckles on account of the fact he drags them.

The one positive is that Gravenberch is back, and he will be a key player as he wins a high percentage of his duels, he is physically strong and defensively he’s sound. I think we don’t have to out muscle them, just out think them. Van Dijk should be in the ear of the ref every time that troglodyte fouls one of our boys, we need to make a meal of every foul committed and go down quicker than an Essex girl in the back of an XR3i at the slightest touch.

25 Aug 2025 17:42:04
Tongue was pretty heavily in cheek Why Oh Why.

25 Aug 2025 17:43:53
You don't have to be a unit to be a bruiser, WhyOwhy.
Roy Keane was hardly a unit either.
If we had either of those two midfields I wouldn't be worried about ours. As I've said, it's not all about size (ooh errr) .
In that City midfield, Fernandinho could mix it, de Bruyne could get around the pitch and tackle (even if it's not what he is remembered for) and they also played with Yaya Toure who was a giant and could certainly look after himself.

25 Aug 2025 17:54:27
Could mix it = Ryan Gravernberch - europes best DM last year.
You don’t think Dom is a physical match for de Bruyne?

We have the joint best midfield in Europe and you want Andre the Giant.

Look at the best Barcelona side ever…. Busquets (like Ryan no? ), Xavi and Iniesta.

As Alonso said, the weird British fixation with crunching midfielders is baffling. We don’t need players like that. Keane was a specimen. He was rock hard. That games gone.

I know you don’t like the side you support, but come on now, the last area you can have a dig at Liverpool about is an area that contains Mac10, Ryan, Dom, Wirtz, Endo and Jones.

Terrible fans on one.
