I haven't posted on here for a while and have a few updates.
We are giving Ibou an ultimatum this week to agree final terms on a contract extension.
We are going in for Guehi around £40m in Jan. This figure will work for both parties, huge fail from Hughes in Summer for not getting that across the line earlier, now we need to go higher and get it done earlier in the window to allow palace the time to replace him.
Trey Nyoni is expected to get more minutes soon to prep him for a larger role next season.
Also expecting more talk about Bastoni in the upcoming weeks, with a possible bid for him before the world cup in summer.

If we were going to pay around 30m six months ago, why would give them 40m in January when he will be free in the summer? Makes no sense to me.
I know it's quite difficult to get players in January but if we can get another preferred target this January and persuade Guehi to join for free in the summer that would be perfect in my opinion.

Hope you’re right on Bastoni.
Hope you’re wrong on Konate, It's time for he to go.

Imagine if during the summer, Hughes and the stat men, would have bought Semenyo instead of Wirtz, J. Pedro Instead of Isak, not tolerated Ibu's nonsense and sold him to Carlisle United for aniseed twists and actual bought Marc Guehi instead of "negotiated to buy", realized that Salah needed an arse kicking and/ or an exit (never understood why they gave him a new contract and not just a "thanks for the memories, sorry your leaving" card) .
Actually watched Kerkez play rather that listened to the hype. and then bought anyone else instead. Looked at the muscle in the Prem and decided that Munoz was a far better option than Frimpong. We've become average on the pitch and below average in the office.
24 Dec 2025 10:25:31
You would swap Wirtz and Isak for Pedro and Semenyo? Lol.
24 Dec 2025 10:34:18
Semenyo instead of Wirtz - Wirtz all day for me. Wirtz is building up and starting to get to grips with premier league now which with hindsight I guess we all should have expected he would need some time.
Ekitike has been outstanding.
Isak is a fine player but injuries were always a risk. He has been shocking this season but he has been behind the fitness curve and injured all season. It was a high risk signing with injuries but hopefully he can spend. The rest of the season acclimatizing to the club once he recovers, hopefully bangs a few more goals and gets going next season.
I would not have signed Kerkez or Frimpong personally however they are here now and trying to improve. I would have gone for different fullbacks but would not write off these two after such a short period.
24 Dec 2025 10:37:36
@Funkster. Yes, All things considered, continuity, spending money in the right places for the right players that are ready to go, yes. I have no doubt that Wirtz will become a very good player IN TIME. I'd be happy to hear your reasoning, beyond your sound-bite, why you might not agree, you might be right!
24 Dec 2025 10:48:35
Nonsense post.
24 Dec 2025 10:59:02
I don’t think many on here would have chosen Pedro over Isak. Although Isak hasn’t set world alight he’s obviously a quality striker the kind of which we’ve been crying out for - only issue with his signing was the price.
Many on here were bemoaning when we were linked with semenyo in summer but were cheering when Wirtz was signed. For what we needed Wirtz was the better option, although again price was maybe a bit steep.
However if I was spending that kind of money I would have been pleased if we’d have followed up on reported links to Morgan Rodgers.
Now we have Isak and Wirtz it would help greatly is the manager would actually play to their strengths because I don’t think they (or anyone else) can show their best in the current style of play.

VR you've started drinking very early today I see. ?.
24 Dec 2025 11:06:33
João Pedro over isak wtf
What's with this obsession with players that will hit the ground running? Is it so imperative that we crush every team in sight and win every game? What if wirtz moved to city and in time became the new de bruyne or Silva? Are we so short of time and patience?
I feel fortunate that I could witness us win the title last year, and I feel fortunate that I can witness us build a team that will be in the uppermost echelons of world football, I feel confident that this will be the case.
And what do you mean 'actually watched kerkez play'? He was the best attacking full back in the league last year.
24 Dec 2025 11:59:17
All experts now. same people were delighted in the summer.
24 Dec 2025 12:30:32
If we’d signed Pedro and Semenyo instead of Isak and Wirtz we’d be a worse team. Isak is a better striker than both and Wirtz is a miles better attacking midfielder than both.
Sometimes it’s too easy to say if we did this and if we did that but the truth is we had a great summer window and it will be proven in time.
Plus, Palace didn’t want to sell Guehi so it was nothing to do with Hughes waiting until the end of the window. They wanted him to play in as many games for them as possible so we had no choice but to wait for them and they ultimately decided not to sell.
24 Dec 2025 12:34:29
LOOOL - none of that is happening btw.
We are not paying 40m for Guehi, and nor will a bid be made for Bastoni.
As for Konate - I don’t know what the club is doing, but he should be told to leave on a free. Nowhere near good enough.

@VR
Wirtz over Semenyo. I just think Wirtz is a truly special talent and a bit of a unicorn. I really like Semenyo and i was hoping we would sign him i actually think his attrubutes would help some of our new signings and some of the problems we currently face but he has absolutely nothing on Wirtz imo.
Isak over Pedro. Aside from the fee, again a no brainer for me. Isak is the only striker i've seen give VVD, Saliba, and Gabriel hassle. I think he's fantastic and a all round belter number 9. His fitness and our tactics are reasons for his poor start. Pity about the injury, i think he was starting to look himself again. Give him chances and play him in quick and he will simply score. His interplay play is pretty good also but we haven't asked him to do it. If we had pacey wingers running in behind i could see him morphing into a Harry Kane. Salah and Gakpo are good at what they do but they are bad for Isak as they want to shoot every time to get the ball.
On Continunity. If we were replacing Mane and Bobby summer gone and wanted to keep our indentity, id agree with Semenyo and Pedro but we are long gone from that style of play. We moved away from that style either under Klopp. Unfortuntely we have to replace the goal monster that is Mo very soon and Isak was always a better shout than Pedro. If we can keep him fit and we play properly for a change next year, then Isak hits 30G/ A for me.
Weve also had to replace a creative unicorn in TAA and although a different type of creative unicorn i think long term Wirtz was the best case scenerio we could of dreamed of.
I agree there's been teething problems but i think long term Wirtz and Isak are a World Class combination. Im more concerned about our build up from the back, imbalanced squad (too lightweight/ attacking focused), absence of a winger who can beat and man and pull it back to one our our belter 9s (Semenyo type), and lastly an identity to our game. Im not sure what we are trying to do at times.
24 Dec 2025 13:35:11
If we're really honest, the summer window transfer business was tragic. We spent over £350m and look progressively weaker.
Spending that much money should have been the start of a dynasty, instead the manager has struggled to incorporate the players and we've no identity.
Isak was a mistake, Ekitike and Isak are the same profile of player. £125m would have been best served to strengthen the glaring holes in the squad. Hughes and Edward need to take accountability, especially if the club fails to achieve Champions league football.
24 Dec 2025 14:39:47
All of our summer signings will come good. Wirtz, ekitike and izak may get right to the top tier of prem players.
24 Dec 2025 14:41:29
Why did Semenyo not choose us? I thouhht he wanted Liverpool?
24 Dec 2025 14:45:55
I didn't mind buying Isak, absolutely top striker. i actually STILL don't regret any of the deals for any of the signings from the summer. All good players. We won't win the league, get over it.
Get top 5 and have a bash at the FA Cup and Champions League. A seasons not tragic if you don't win the league, if it was we'd have had a lot of tragedy as LFC fans over the last 35 years.
24 Dec 2025 14:49:48
Christ not another ITK there growing like herpies.
24 Dec 2025 15:57:36
Can Konate wait a week and one day so that can someone can agree a pre contract with him please?
24 Dec 2025 16:19:45
Merry Christmas to you all, another year ahead, hope its a good one! In my view, we don't need a midfielder or an attacker. A ready to go CB, or two are essential in Jan.
We have a great squad, we must give it time to gel and we'll get there folks. Anyway, really hope you all stay well and have a great time. Take care. YNWA.
24 Dec 2025 18:25:14
Merry Christmas heighway mate.
24 Dec 2025 18:43:00
40 mil for a player with 6 months left on contract who we all but signed for 30 mil 6 months ago?! What are you smoking there bud?
24 Dec 2025 21:52:26
Nonsense Pat. The summer window was stellar. The players we brought in will see us challenging for top honours for years to come.
There are teething problems sure but with patience and a few more defensive reinforcements we’ll be right up there.
25 Dec 2025 05:12:48
I’d say a lot of these posts sound far less fanciful if you stick “In my opinion” at the start of the post.
