Liverpool are expecting to make Alonso the next manager of the club, in the summer.
He has told the club he wishes to join.
Liverpool also on the look for a new Sporting director.
Lots of changes coming.

Suspect they regret Isak too.

Edwards chose Isak but Semenyo and Guehi would have served us better this season. Isak is going to be a bit part goal scorer / sick note. A vanity project in Edwards fantasy football team.
Alonso could be our manager for a decade - let's hope so. We need the continuation and the connection to players and the city.
Slot will be a pub quiz question in years to come, an anomaly. He is a mid level man manager / youth developer / leader of men.

Spot on, Slot is a mid table manager and that's where we are headed this season unless we bring in a couple of top defenders, very unlucky with Conor Bradley, he was definitely starting to improve, and he will be a huge loss, more so if sloto puts Szobo in at right back, which means that the midfield loses out, plus macca has his head turned on real Madrid, tho I think that Grav is starting to show his form from last season,
Really hoping that we do bring in the two much needed defenders or any injuries will mean more drawn games.

Let's not be ridiculous guys, slot isn't a mid level manager.
He hasn't got the charisma of Klopp but he's still a very good manager, I imagine he'll be very successful in his career.
He is not quite gelling with the team/ club culture at the moment but a lot can happen in a few months in football.
I really would hate us to become another Chelsea where the Manager position is a constant merry go round.

Not for the first time to say this but Bradley is not a good right back. Lots of heart but little brain. Unfortunately. Not sure whether it's his natural attributes or a lack of correct coaching or perhaps a bit of both. I like him though. But give me a proper defensive RB any day of the week.

Ed001, you do understand the new players are playing for a new club, and in Wirtz's/ Flo's/ Hugo's case a new league with very different challenges and expectations, right?
All have taken time to settle, but it would be a little churlish to say we aren't seeing improvement in their performances over the last couple of months. Have they hit the heights of last season in a weaker league, smaller clubs where expectations aren't as high, no, but they aren't the first to take time to adjust, but they are improving. Can you understand that?

The poster said they are improving, even the most myopic observer would be hard pressed not to admit that Wirtz/ Flo/ Hugo/ Kerkez performances have improved in recent weeks. Again, they are adjusting to a new team and in some, new country, new league.

I have seen improvement in Wirtz, I'll be honest with that but it's sporadic and not consistent. Hugo is fine tho, he can't do much more and is scoring. Bradley, I love him and I really want him to succeed but I've always said he's a wingback for me but I have seen him put in top class RB performances but he is playing it really safe, looking for the simple pass nearly all the time.
Injuries are ruining his career but it is correct that the level of performance is really low it's not that hard to beat.

Again, you are ignoring the important variable, these players came into a new club with vastly higher expectations, half a new team, a new league, in some cases a new country. It would be nonsensical to ignore that, and yes, even the most ardent anti-Slots have to admit Wirtz/ Frim/ Eki/ Kerkez's performances have improved recently, and again, Isak was very unfortunate to get injured just after linking up with Wirtz for a great goal.

A top notch debate there chaps well done.
Whatever someone's point of view it's always interesting to hear these debates.
I'm finding it really difficult to have a strong opinion either way about Slot staying or going. I'm very nervous that in 12 months when inevitably slot leaves and Alonso joins we are sitting here in a worse position.
But I also feel Alonsos style of football and player management will be a better fit so it'll probably be a good thing.

I have to agree with ED, nothing has improved under AS with the exception of last season moving Gravy to DM. This season he has been allowed to progress further up the pitch with the detrimental effect of making him less use to us. OH Wait, he was better last season than this, that's regression not improvement. If you are so anti the EDs D Day, take a lil walk to a page where yours is the only opinion that matters. I post sporadically, sometimes my opinion is good, sometimes not so but it is mine alone, same as every other poster on here is allowed one, even you, that does not give you the right to bash or insult Eds who give their free time to make this available at all, without which you would probably be crying into your pillow.
End of the day we are all here for supporting the same team, opinions will vary, but if you do not want us to call out blatant discrepencies in your statement. keep em to yourself :)
