Rumours coming out of Brazil that Liverpool are seriously interested in 21 year old left footed Right Winger, Allan, who plays for Palmeiras. The price quoted is 35 million euros. Story seems to originate from a local Brazilian Reporter and Editor, Robson Morelli.

Just looked him up. MK stats are not great: 2 goals, 3 assists in 28 games last season, and up to now 1 goal and no assists in his first 7 games. Turns 22 soon, so not that young for stats like that in the Brazilian league.

Agreed on the stats, Grino. If we are interested, though, and this report is truthful, I'd hope our scouts have seen something in him that maybe stats don't show. I'm certainly not averse to adding a bit of Brazilian flair to our turgid and predictable attack.

Would he get a work permit? We very rarely take younger South Americans from source. The few times we have, we have struggled to get permits. I do not know the process or restrictions, so just enquiring.

No thanks, I'll take Gakpo and Salah over a 22 yr old with 3 goals and 3 assists in 35 games in the Brazilian league. We already have a 17 year old in Rio who'd do better than that. In fact, we've a 15 year old who'd do better than that.

I personally think, at the quoted 35 million euros, he'd probably be granted a permit. Estevao was 45 million euros from Palmeiras to Chelsea and he got a work permit.

No, MK, none. But, seeing as he's 22 and playing in a league comparable to the Championship with those stats, I would not be interested in him. Lewis Koumas has been on loan in the Championship for the last two seasons, talented boy. I'd rather have him back at the club.

No idea if the links are true, but I heard there's a bug in our code which only provides data on Brazilian players with "Allan" in their name. So it could be true.

Cheers MK, I just remember when we signed the young lad Allan (may have the name wrong, apologies if I do) a few years back. We had hopes for him, but then he had to spend his entire time with the club on loan elsewhere because we could never get a work permit sorted.

He would likely not get a work permit. Why would we be interested in him when Rayan, who looks to be a better player and who plays in the same position, went for cheaper? I am guessing Palmeiras are drumming up interest in him.

Gakpo seems to be the whipping boy for the so-called supporters who are not happy unless they have someone to criticise. Gakpo has suffered the same as Mo this season because of the turgid build up. I'm not saying we can't upgrade him if we get someone like Barcola or Gordon, but the disrespect is not necessary.
