I think Carra and co will be proved right and the player brother that wrote that letter is a genuine person with integrity. A very promising player playing in a position that is in short supply.

Copied this from ITK space. Interesting viewpoint as they see it as we've done all the groundwork but his agents have used it as leverage to get PSG to move to a bid...

Inside the Red Bull football group, and particularly at RB Leipzig, there is a growing conviction that Yan Diomande’s camp used Liverpool’s genuine interest as leverage to accelerate Paris Saint-Germain’s pursuit. Personal terms with Liverpool were indeed agreed, which subsequently led to an official approach to RB Leipzig, something that, as virtually everyone within the industry knows, does not happen without a prior agreement with the player. The prevailing belief today is that this sequence of events was designed to increase pressure on PSG to step up their efforts and move more decisively, which has now happened, while Liverpool have already moved on in recent days and shifted their focus towards other elite targets.

It is worth noting that a growing number of senior figures across the European game privately point to the player’s representatives at Roc Nation Sports, the US-based agency handling Diomande, believing the negotiations were conducted with little regard for the long-established customs, discretion and unwritten code that have traditionally governed elite European football transfers, with several figures remarking that the approach felt more akin to an American franchise-style negotiation than the relationship-driven culture of Europe’s elite game, leaving many within RB Leipzig, Liverpool and wider industry circles privately describing the entire episode as an unnecessary circus that, in their view, eroded professionalism and trust.

I'm just hoping our ITK's are on it again. ????

Interesting read.

I would like the ITKs to be right just because I don't know many options at right wing. I would gladly appreciate if anyone could tell me some options at the position just for my knowledge.

I mean, and I know the article isn't writing this from a Liverpool perspective, but it would be fairly ironic to make mention of relationships in football given our decorum in the market over the years.

Well, well... who'd have thought clubs play prospective buyers off against each other? Never thought I'd see the day.

Finally, super happy about diamonde not happening. In hindsight it will be clear we dodged a massive dodo there.
Now let's bring in that elite midfielder first. I don't think that forwards are a problem for us and we have unique solutions.
The midfield though is a problem we need 3 midfielders in 4 3 3 and they need to fit system-i am just not convinced with macca szobo gravy midfield that 4 3 3 works

I think we should give szobo a chance on rw. frimpo and harvey is also there to cover Rw. And isak as cf gackpo and wirtz /munoz on left. Ekitike is a miss and so is salah. But i think szobo can play RW also because he has that shot and impeccable crossing. He has an eye for goals and i want to play him in position that gives him beat cahnce to score. I think szobo is easily a 10-15 goals and 10-15 assist a season player. By playing him midfield we loose that number and playing him RB is jsut blasphemy against football. Also isak will be doing bulk of our scoring 20-25 goals a season so we need people that can supply the crosses
Nunez for free as a backpup is not a bad option to cover for heki. (For free else i would have no interest)

Now what we need is a midfielder and we have to test some teams like psg, madrid, chelsea for there prime midfielders. Vitinha gomez tchoumeni and caciedo is where am looking at.
RB is another position that we need to look at as i am not confident in frimpo and bradley had injury issues which will keep him out. There is a rb i want but its kinda improbable as he won't be welcomed back by fans. But he is the best RB for us. I know it won't work but we could try.

Been saying for ages El Mala is the player we should go for and not Diamonde.
Similar numbers, same age, same league, but he plays for a very average team and has carried them.
Would be cheaper and smart.

He plays left wing, though, which is the position we have more cover for than any other on the pitch.

Looks like Diomande is going to PSG now.
Heard they came in for him and he wants to join them.

Fatspanishwaiter/Robbo/ Carra, Any idea who we will go for instead of Diomande? Assume we knew a while ago that he wasn't serious about joining. Will it be Barcola?

Carra has said Diomande is happening...let's see what plays out.

Robbo has said a bid has been accepted.

Ornstein - Diomande chooses PSG. Minteh and El Mala for the same price would be good business.

Ornstein has got things wrong in the past. We should all know for certain in next 48 hrs, so nothing to worry about as yet.

28 Jun 2026 21:05:45
Minteh not good enough for us.

28 Jun 2026 22:22:16
I agree, Raceylfc, Mintwh is more of a squad option, he cannot replace Mo.

Ornstein - Yan Diomande chooses PSG! If you have read my posts, I have consistently said I didn’t want LFC to go big on this lad. As talented as he is, I always got the feeling PSG or Madrid would be his end game! He clearly seen Liverpool as a stepping stone, which is not the attitude LFC should pay £100m for. Next!
