Morning Eds, Regarding replacements for the RW when ever that might be. Is Nicolas Gonzalez considered an option? Scored plenty of goals in Germany and Italy and is left footed most importantly, or would age be a factor with him approaching 27, potentially be near 28/ 29 when Salah is done.
Look forward to your response and any insights you have about the player.

i missed the Lukeba signing, Leipzig always seem to pick up good french talent.

Bjcd104, it's how RBL rolls. They got Konate from Sochaux in the French second division when he was in his teens and was starting for them (along with a young Upamecano) when he was 17 or 18, I think. It's part of their model.

Lukeba is a big miss by our recruitment team.
Inacio would cost a lot now he has signed the new deal with the larger release clause.
Arthur Theate has a similar profile to Inacio. Worth a look.

Out of interest, are Liverpool included as one of the clubs monitoring Phillip Billing of Bournemouth?
Genuinely think he could add a lot to our midfield, pace, energy, goals.
Just curious if he's on Liverpool's watched list.

I actually really like Billing. Scores, quick, good head on his shoulders and still time to develop. I think there is a top player in there. What do you think ed1?

He is 26 years old, 27 this June, i like him as well but as a back up not a regular, of course if the cherries get relegated he will look for a move to the premier i suppose.
The commentator on Saturday said Gary O'Neil the cherries manager was once Liverpools Under 23 coach it must of been a long time ago because it's no longer the under 23 league but the under 21 league, anyone got any relevant information regarding O'Neil as he has certainly rejuvenated the cherries and is one to watch for the future i would say.

@007, to answer your question, he was the assistant manager to our U23s from Aug 2020 to Feb 2021 so it wasn't that long ago. He moved to Bournemouth to be assistant manager there from Feb 2021 onwards.

Decent player, but looking good against our midfield this season is hardly a badge of honour.
Bit like when Skrtel and Coates made that lad from Oldham look like prime Drogba back in 2013.

I think Alonso plays with a back 3 and 2 wing backs as that is what he has at his disposal. In the Liverpool team he won't have that, his ethos and tactics will stay as in short passing and possession but formations are fluid and change frequently, it's not something I would get caught up on to be honest.

The fact people can't grasp that a Salah replacement needs to be left footed if we continue to have our wingers cut in is mad. Maybe when we have a forward evolution like the midfield we might go to having right on right, left on left to support Nunez, but that makes the overlapping role of TAA and Robertson redundant.
A few players I think would work well on the right for us are:
Nicolas Gonzalez - Fiorentina
Marcus Edwards - Sporting CP
Taki Kubo - Real Sociedad
Leroy Sane (wildcard) Bayern Munich.
Not sure if you have any opinions on those players eds?
