Latest rumours floating around, Bayern have given encouragement that they'd be willing to sell Gravenberch this summer now. Supposedly he's preferred to Kone as an option, Thuram still number 1 priority.

I always get concerned when a player wants to be a guaranteed starter. Earn your place like everyone else if you’re in form and suit the opponent you will be picked.

Feel they lose motivation if they want guarantees.

The other side to that is you could argue he’s more focussed on his own development if he’s willing to leave Bayern (German champions and in the champions league) to join a team who finished 5th and will play on the europa league.

Hard to know for sure. But I’d like to give him the benefit of the doubt if he were to join personally.

Hard pass. I’d rather have Kone as he can play 6 or 8 and is a very hard working industrious midfielder. Gravenberch is lazy and has zero work ethic. Plus he’s a bit of a big time Charlie.

Personally, I'd rather a) trust the recruitment team to weed out any undesirable character traits and b) rely on info from Ed002.

Mo Salah isn't even a guaranteed starter. He starts because he works his tail off and brings it week in and week out. Concerning development RE Gravenberch.

Give him a chance. People such as Mane (Attitude), Robertson (Fee) were moaned about by fans before they had even kicked a ball for us. I rate him and I think Klopp can make him better., and that’s good enough for me.

Perhaps he had been led to believe, when he signed, that he was going to get more game time than he got? Who knows? i tend to agree with the idea that stipulating you are a guaranteed starter before you sign isn’t the best look attitude wise - I think it is fair to say that the best players tend to find their name on the team sheet without making a song and dance about it.

He’s had his head turned by us . Maybe he just fancies the lure of the prem now and the chance to work with klopp . Liverpool obviously see something in him . The guaranteed starter thing is ridiculous though as no one should play for any other reason than they deserve to play . Hopefully if he does come he leaves a bit of that chip on his shoulder in Munich.

This is a tough one because I really rated him at Ajax (haven't followed his time at Bayern) . he reminded me a bit of that Yaya Toure power once he got going with the ball at his feet.

Mainly a 6 but I recall him playing a bit more advanced on the left of midfield at times so I think he can do a job as an 8 too, VV, but I love the look of Kone so a tough one to choose.

Not sure what the fees and wages would be like for him or Kone, but I'm sure the professionals in the club will pick the right one for us.

I personally wouldn't be opposed to him if he came in with the right attitude.

I was in the same camp as Ed25 and KTK but Jones Red makes a brilliant reference re: Mane.

Mane had attitude concerns at Saints and I was concerned about signing him. He’s also got issues at Bayern. But Mane was a BRILLIANT player for LFC, always delivered and never stopped working.

Sometimes it’s just the club, some players suit different club cultures and managers and when they don’t they kick off. If Klopp likes him then bring him in.

Looks like another Keita to me. Not convinced in the slightest. Much prefer to go for Thuram, Kone or give the young lads more of an opportunity.

I think we will sign Thuram, if he wants to come to Liverpool, Gravenberch and Van de avenue.

That would be three mids and an LCB in.

We may sign a couple of youngsters too and maybe one more first team squad player depending on sales.
