1 point off the top and haven't really played consistently well as yet. If we do click 2nd half of season we might even have a say in the title race. though I'd be happy with top four this season and a title push next.

I actually think Arsenal have played the consistently best football. Though their attacking verve is down, it has come with a massively improved defence. That being said, you were lucky to come away with a point yesterday Ed014. But it seems to be shaping up into a really good race.

Didn’t Elliott hit the post, I realise I’m slightly clutching at straws. I think Arsenal have become an excellent team. Think they are slightly better than us. We’ve got issues still in midfield, and seemingly up top. I’d be looking at possibly selling Diaz and Nunez. Neither are doing enough.

Injuries have played a part and we still have Partey, Timber and Tomiyasu to come back as City wait on De Bruyne.

You have a few to, including Robbo and Jota.

If we get a striker, Ivan Toney, then that can only increase our chances as Jesus can play anywhere across the front 3.

Don't think it's moaning to point out reality. The reffing has been terrible this season. Arsenal got lucky with the penalty this week, they will be unlucky in the future. The same for us but overall the officiating is making games less enjoyable. Anyway just my two cents. Merry chrimbo all.

Arsenal are playing as well as they ever will. If anything they will drop a level. Liverpool and City have gears to go up yet.

Liverpool should’ve won yesterday we were the better side apart from the first 5 or 10 minutes. Arsenal are a decent top 4 team that can beat anyone on their day but they are not at the level of Liverpool or City.

They’ll get within 6 to 10 points but won’t win the league.

Ed 14 that ball was not out. There’s no way you could possibly say it was. The foul on Gabriel was 50/ 50 sometimes you get them sometimes you don’t. Joelinton got up first and rode Gabriel’s back you see those not given quite often. We’ve had Jack Robinson literally hanging around VVD’s neck as he’s trying to get the ball and we got nothing so I really don’t have much sympathy for it.

The only thing you could possibly say about that Newcastle goal was the offside. It probably was but because Joelinton’s body was in the way there’s no way they could give it.

When you score a goal that VAR confirm as a legal goal but the ref doesn’t count it on the scoresheet, then you can come back to us.

We should’ve had a penalty for Saliba’s handball at the Emirates last season too. Arsenal and Spurs get preferential treatment it’s plain for everyone to see.

What an excellent signing rice has been for use, thought his game would go only 1 way once he got a big club and it has, and as an irishman i wouldve have much time for him! what's your opinion on drop off of your front 3 this season, last season they on fire, this season ok at best from what i seen. Reason i ask is lfcfront players have also seemed to drop off a mile from what they capable of. Strange front players of top clubs all seem to be struggling, going backways if anything.

I think we’re just taking time to fully gel as a unit and Rice is truly immense.

I didn’t think for a minute we’d even be in the running to get him but so glad we did. If Partey can get fit and stay fit I expect we’ll see even more from Declan.

Are arsenal fans still making the case that ball was in. Neville showed the potential confusion best when they used one single camera to show two different angles of a ball looking out in one angle but in on the other.
And for Gabriel, I think if he times his flop a bit better then he might get the call. He’s a fraction late which makes it look unco lol
Anyways, missed calls happening all over the show. No specific bias against any team imo.

Doesn’t matter Liverpool or arsenal will not win the title…. pep will be getting the brown envelopes out in January and signing atleast 2 players, then blow the league title race up. Arsenal need a top striker and to finally decide who is the main keeper…. neither of which are great. We are still short of a strong big dm and another cb. City will romp it again I reckon…. unfortunately.

Ed14, how you doing, man? Happy Holidays to you and yours. On Arsenal, you are indeed playing good, not great by any standards and yes, LFC should have won yesterday cos we had the better chances (screwed over for the pen) and frankly, Arsenal had NO shots nor real chances on target in the whole second half. Sorry, that's a red flag, IMO. You're going to have to do a lot better than that in games if you want to win the title.

As for us, things aren't clicking on all cylinders yet we are one point off you, joint best defensive record (with Arsenal) and second best attack. Not bad for a team in a first year rebuild rebuild whereas Arsenal are 4 years in and we are still neck and neck with you. Again, another red flag. Had the Spurs debacle not happened, we would be ahead of you. However I agree that all 3 teams are still finding their rhythm as nobody is leaving anybody behind right now so lots to play for, IMO.

@Ed14 - good to see you back mate. I said last season the only reason you mob tailed off was the Saliba injury. I think you lot have improved on last season and if your key players stay fit you are as good a chance as ever. I think we are a season away with the development of our ‘new’ squad, although I think we’ll go close. I think Tottenham won’t be far off - Ange knows what he’s doing - and although City look to me like they have past their peak they might still go close.

My two outside tips would be Chelsea (cracking Academy squad) and the Red Devils - Ten Hag has them playing some brilliant stuff. Anyway, like I say, good to see you back,

WDW3, I have never believed this copium-filled narrative, just like I have believed that Gerrard's "slip" cost us in 13/ 14. As for Arsenal, they crumbled cos when the pressure was put on them, they were nowhere to be found including their manager and that slide started at Anfield. As soon as we take over the game, Arsenal were buried in the storm with no sign of recovering and we should have won that game cos we battered them. Their descent started from that moment we took that game over.

Then, they play away at WH and at 2-1 up, they have a chance to go 3-1 with Saka who missed a pen and they end up drawing the game. Saliba's injry had nothing to do with them bottling the pen. They play the Saints right after and within the first 15 mins at the Emirates, they concede 2 goals with Ramsdale making a mistake for one of them. They come back 2-2 and concede a 3rd and come back to draw 3-3. That's not on Saliba's injury either. That narrative sounds like a lot of copium from many of their fans, IMO.

I’m not actually sure what you mean to say to be honest and what Gerrard has to do with it is also a bit baffling.

Anyway, we all have our own opinions and there’s no problem with you having yours.

And now onto the important stuff - having got Christmas and all that stuff out of the way I’d like to wish you and everybody else a stress free transfer window. In the past they have tended to get a bit stressful but I know that if we all pull together we can get through it together.
