For those that didn't watch the match against Real Betis, I want to point out one player. A young, newly turned 17 year old called Trey Nyoni. Instantly I could tell this boy is some prospect. Yes, he is still young and yes, he has a long way to go but he is press resistant, self assured, composed and his successful passes completed must have been around the 99% mark. Bear in mind some of the passes he pulled off, which were quite a fair few mind, were eye of a needle type passes. If he gains experience through cup games and prem sub appearances, he could emerge as a contender for a first team place in a similar way that Bradley and Quansah did.

I really love this guy. He showed some glimspes last season. And I hope Bajcetic too comes of age this year. He too could be an extremely important player this year.

Loved Nyoni’s cameo. Obviously more challenges to come but you can see already the intelligence and technique is there.
As fans we should prepare for lots of ups and downs. He is very light and at that age his body will be taking shape over the next 4-5 years. Very exciting prospect and well done FSG for enabling the club to recruit and develop such talents as Nyoni.

I too really enjoyed watching Nyoni play Alonso mate and always appreciate when I see posts on hear having a conversation about our youth.

West Ham definitely sold us a top talent whatever the reason was they felt they had to let him go I can only summise it must of been against they're best intentions.

Iron man - if you referencing nyoni I believe he was signed Leicester- but all the same he looks like a real special talent.

Iron Man, it was Amara Nallo (young CB) who came from the Hammers. Jaydee is correct, Nyoni came from Leicester. It seems to be a model we’ve adopted in the last 5 years to plan for the future to poach the best 15/ 16 year olds in the UK. Kaide Gordon from Derby. Doak from Celtic. Clark from Newcastle. McConnell from Sunderland. Elliott from Fulham.
If it produces even 1 or 2 first team players for us and the rest of them sell for a tidy profit, then it will have paid off for us.

@LFCDas and @Faithinworks I agree, we have to be patient with any player that is that young. As Arne Slot said he in the post match presser, Trey is a talent and played well. But it was only 60 odd minutes. He said they will manage his game time as he is still growing and physically will need to bulk up to be able to showcase his talent effectively in the prem.
Like I said, cup games here and there and a couple of prem sub appearances will give him the confidence to potentially stake a place in the first team in a few years. Granted, if he continues on the same trajectory. Long way to go but looks promising.

Spain have just won the euros with a 16 year old so why not put the young man with the first team if he is good enough.
