I think Szoboslai does not want to be at LFC, just his body language. I may be wrong and I hope I am.

He’s fine. He’s a LFC fan where else would he want to be. Whether he is very good or not if a different question.

Salah was as bad as he was all last year and could pass a ball 2 yards. To those being swayed by 2 games thinking he needs a new deal hope this is a wake up call. He is imo done at the top level and needs to be replaced. Hopefully chiesa is that player

Slot took the risk to rest Mac and Diaz after their travel and it backfired. We were decent first half awful 2nd particularly once he made the subs. Gakpo and Nunez offered nothing at all.

Brummy, Salah had played three games, scored three goals and had three assists before Saturday. You can write him off after one poor performance or are judging him on his previous seasons with us?
You know the ones when he has been top scorer in every one?

Sob whinges all the time on the pitch if it doesn't go his way . He does it playing for Hungary. It's poor behavior but that's his personality. I prefer him as a box to box 8 not this new role.

"To those being swayed by 2 games thinking he needs a new deal hope this is a wake up call. "

Yes, it's much better to be swayed by 1 bad game than 3 good ones (or the last 7 years) .

YNWA. Unless we lose to Forest. Then you do.

We can't hide the truth which is he has lost his pace drastically.

However last season and this season he has improved on his assists by providing good key passes. However yesterday was not his day. Pretty awful.

I have been thinking we need to let go off the right wing wide postion he is stationed all game and bring closer to the edge of the box and make it narrower. He is no way going to beat fullbacks with his pace at this age. He would offer more to the team if he is involved in the middle and higher up but in a norrow formation than this wide right side he is being asked to be fixed at all times.

Someone has to make this call and change.

Where would we be without body language experts?

16 Sep 2024 13:47:30
Seriously @Iwillbeared and I know this is what you do and post outta of the blue but sincere question. Of all the nonsense you (and those who support your weird) saw with your own eyes where NO outfield player played well vs Forrest, Szoboslai is the only one you singled out with such an accusation, one you cannot even prove to be anywhere near being 1% credible esp. "judging by your area of expertise", right? Outstanding.

So based on the above, did you apply this unique assessment to other players who were doing the exact same thing (s) Szobo was doing out of frustration? And are these players also fed up of playing for LFC? Or does this assessment only apply to players you dislike or want gone? Please, advise.

Indeed, @Faith.

16 Sep 2024 14:22:55
@rigsby - Salah had a system geared towards him under Klopp. Every season for the last 3/ 4 years he has gone missing when we’ve needed him and form dropped off a cliff. He no longer has a yard to beat a man but I agree does still have moments within games where he makes the difference. Just a shame he is so bad for the whole other 80 mins.

16 Sep 2024 14:50:47
A bit OTT there Brummyred, don't you think? "Form dropped off a cliff". Salh's standards are thru the roof and it would take a whole lot for his form to you know, "drop off a cliff". Man, you're doing too much here. The fact of the matter is that he like near all the other 10 outfield players played poorly. Expecting Salah to dig us out all the time is an unfair criticism of him, IMO. It's the manager's job first and foremost.

Should he have done better on Sat? Of course but that applies to every single player and most importantly, the manager who seemed to ever do it with his sus and frankly, made us worse cos the shape we were in was strange.

As for him losing pace, what else do you think should happen to a player in his 30's? Run as fast as his early 20's? Salah still scores goals and has improved his game mainly cos he did not only rely on his pace and hence, has still a very effective and dangerous player to the opposition, plain and simple. Just ask the 3 teams we played this season where he scored and assisted. Again, we lost a game. It happens. We need to learn from it. No need to go all OTT about it. Relax.

16 Sep 2024 15:56:24
Brummy, yet Salah is still our top scorer. If some of the others contributed more we might not need to rely on him so much.

16 Sep 2024 16:27:31
Salah travelled 15 hours and was at Liverpool on Thursday. Same for Luis Diaz and Mac-Allister. Slot should have kept this in mind and played other players who would have been more fresh and brought them on if needed. They looked knackered, specially Diaz who is usually a bundle of energy. As to the rest of your post about Salah, it's so disrespectful it actually doesn't warrant a response because its sadly just gibberish.

16 Sep 2024 17:57:37
I believe Victor and Negative don’t want to be Liverpool fans judging by their keyboard language.

I could be wrong they might be the happiest people in the world wearing full kits 24/ 7 for all I know.

16 Sep 2024 19:27:33
Beckers, I think some on here are just contrarians and bomb throwers for no reason. Just my take.

16 Sep 2024 19:51:52
Re this topic, but different slant, anyone think if we had a captain that has capability to be aggressive with his own players. Kick up the arse type thing.

I’m not aware if Virg is like that, Trent as Vc doesn’t strike me as that way, I’m possibly barking up wrong tree.

I find it hard to accept that every player had a bad day at the same time.

Love Mo and want him to extend.

However, there were plenty of games and long stretches of games as well, when he went absolutely missing.

That long period of not winning in that season we lost all our defenders. that was bang smack in Mo's prime and you'd think for the guy that had wage demends that other big clubs scoffed at, that he would step up and be the difference maker when the team really needed him.

Same last year in our dry stretch, just goes missing, then pops up for a penalty or a scrambled goal.

etc and so forth.

My real point here is that we've seen this before from Mo and in a system that suited him. So I don't think this is anything new. he is going to be dribbling straight into the defenders legs every game. I think he does need to wisen up and adapt his game to be more about 1-2s an creating space that way.

17 Sep 2024 00:08:28
I was just thinking that same thing Kew. We miss that kind of person on the pitch, someone who would give a rollicking to the rest when things aren't going well. Virgil does it sometimes but on Sat, he was getting sucked into his own frustration too.

17 Sep 2024 09:06:17
I don't think Salah is the type of player to take control of a game, Faith. He's not a Souness or a Gerrard.
I know he can be frustrating but he's the type of player that scores and sets up goals. He has continually done that at Liverpool.
We do need a player, or two, to take control of games though, I agree. That should be a midfielder, imo.
We should looking at the likes of Mac and Grav to do it and good early balls into Salah.
We still need a dominant midfielder.
