What are peoples opinion on our front line getting a refresh in the summer? Who do you think goes and who stays? I’m thinking that we could see Jota, Nunez and Diaz all depart With possibly Chiesa leaving too.

Difficult to see 4 going. Jota is so off form but I like him as a sub. Chiesa has potential with a full pre season. Diaz and Nunez will never be good enough imo.

Depending on replacements (and I think it would be important to have at least one replacement who has PL experience) I could see Jota, Nunez and Diaz leaving.
Perfect scenario: Jota + cash for Isak. The cash for Isak (probably £50-£70m on top of Jota) to come from Nunez to Saudi.
Diaz off to Barcelona - he is one I would have kept, but his heart seems elsewhere.
Chiesa becoming more of a regular - he proved on Sunday that he has still got the game, we just need to see if he can do it week in weel out. I think he deserves a run at least.
I would bring back Doak and give him a chance in the squad, along with Danns.
Oh, and I would renew Salah!
So, that would give us Gakpo, Isak and Salah as our starting front 3, with Danns, Doak and Chiesa as rotation.
I would then see what 'speculative' forwards could be available for a decent fee - one I keep going back to is Bakayoko as I do think there's a player there. Also, Wolves look safe now, but if they do go down, I would defeinitely be looking at a deal for Cunha.

I think Nunez and Diaz should stay as squad players however I think Nunez is done, he hasn’t settled. Diaz will want Spain if they want him so I’d suggest probably those two will go.
Chiesa is a strange one, how do you judge when we haven’t seen him? He showed a desire yesterday and a hunger that Salah didn’t show all game. Jota I would only ever have on the bench as an impact sub so sell him if a younger lad coming through could do the same job. Obviously Isak would be the first choice up top, in terms of replacing Salah long term I’d actually like to see a right footed player there to be honest, if TAA leaves then we need delivery from wide and pace.
Out of all of the contract debates I’m on my own saying I’d rather keep TAA out of the 3. Yesterday we badly missed his passing range, VVD lost Isak twice and Salah was just Salah. It amuses me the talk of Balon D’Or because he needs 5 clear cut chances to score one goal, his numbers are so good because Liverpool dominate most games and create 10 chances (4 of which he misses on his own) . Against PSG we created two clear chances in the first 10 mins, Salah missed them both and that was that (the second one I’ll give him credit for creating it himself however both should have been buried) . Great player (especially in his early days with us) but very selfish, this is the first season he’s passed the ball for others to score.
We need to finish off the title race asap and then Slot will rebuild. The big test is next year, this was a bonus but Slot won’t have the luxury of resting on it, he needs to build a squad to challenge every single season. I’m excited to see who we get in, hope it’s not 5 Dutchmen though!

Salah needs to go now. Nunez Jota unfortunately haven't got what we need. There's a lot of changes needed at LFC. The question is can Mr Slot and others in charge be able to balance the outgoings correctly.
Maybe best to let two in each position go over the next few windows.
I don't think we can let 4 forwards and 3 midfielders 4 defenders go all at the same time.
Hopefully over the next 3 windows Mr slot had the team he needs for us to succeed.
I actually think next season we have more of a chance of winning the league than when we did this season. This of course is dependent on if hopefully Salah Trent and a few others are moved on.

I think Nunez possibly brings in the highest transfer fee which could be critical in the replenishment of the frontline/ squad moving forward.

I think Chiesa showed more than just hunger and fight. His positioning, movement and finish for the goal were top class. Remember we're talking about a player who was one of they key men in one of the best international teams in the world not so long ago, and is still young enough; not some plucky journeyman who got a lucky break by ending up at Liverpool.
I've seen enough of him to think he'll be an asset if he establishes, and maintains, fully post-injury fitness.

Can we really afford an £80 million footballer as a squad player? I mean for that money he should be playing and some other player in the squad to give him a break, not the other way round.
I think Diaz is certainly the one to go, I like him, he’s a grafter but we need more from him up front. We might be able to get £50 million for him?♂️
I think Jota stays, just my opinion.
17 Mar 2025 12:52:02
Jota 30m
Nunez 50m if we lucky
Diaz 50m ish
Gomez 30m
That just about covers Isak who Newcastle would want near 150m for. Then we need a cb, lb, cdm, lw, 1 more striker and maybe to replace mo, vvd, Trent and at this point maybe even konate.
Busy summer ahead.

Jota goes his injury record is abysmal. Diaz goes a great worker but his end product is terrible. As much as I love Darwin he's too expensive to be kept as a squad player. So unless Arne preforms a mericle of Biblical purportons Darwin is gone aswell lad's.

Nunez will probably leave, it's clear as day that Slot doesn't rate him, and to be fair, he hasn't done *a lot* to persuade him otherwise. I'd have still been picking him with Gakpo out, but says more about the alternative options than about Nunez.
Diaz is toiling ineffectively and has been linked with a move for a while, so he could go.
Jota should really go, but with his injury record he mightn't get much of a fee and despite being terrible in his last few games, he still has the potential to break the deadlock against a looking for a draw and playing a low block. So it might make more financial sense to keep him.
Chiesa took his goal extremely well yesterday, but he's barely been used and I'd be surprised to see much of him in the run in. So what would be keeping him for?
17 Mar 2025 13:05:16
If it was my choice, Salah renews, I’d move on Diaz, Nunez and Jota, keep Gakpo and Chiesa, then bring in Isak, Mbuemo and Semenyo, both Semenyo and Mbuemo feel like the kind of under the radar players who would do really well for us. Both have got goals in them and Semenyo in particular is a menace for defenders with his pace and physicality. But can’t for the life of me see us making that many changes or spending that kind of money.
17 Mar 2025 13:25:56
If rumor's are true of the extent of Jota's injury back in Oct then he might never get back to the player we saw before and it might be difficult to move him on in regards to passing a medical.
17 Mar 2025 13:46:38
I suspect we'll sell anything that isn't nailed down to a long-term contract this summer.
Can see all 4 of them moving on - although I would keep Chiesa. Unfortunately, I don't think Slot wants him.
I also think Gomez and Elliott could be moved on too along with Tsimikas, Morton, Doak, Gordon, Kelleher, Jaros, Bajcetic, Koumas, Chambers and Endo.
Assuming Mo and Virg stay and Trent heads to Real Madrid we will have a huge amount of work to do at both fullback positions, deepening midfield and almost entirely replacing the forward line.
I am concerned!
17 Mar 2025 14:02:29
VV, I'd hardly consider Semenyo and Mbuemo "under the radar".
17 Mar 2025 14:31:57
Pelican, I have to agree with you I think there is a massive rebuild on this summer and it does concern me if the manager will be backed or not? For me Trent is leaving, Tzimikas and Gomes gone, Elliott and Endo are both getting sold and Jota, Nunez and Diaz are up for sale. Personally I don’t thing Diaz is something the club necessarily want to do and is more player/ contract driven.
That means potentially needing a RB (1st team), a new LB ( 1st team) and a CB over. In midfield we need Slots midfielder that Zubimendi type player that slot identified last summer but never got (1st team) and the we need 3 attackers if all depart, hoping Diaz stays and then we focus on 2 Cfs …this is a lot to do in one window but is there an alternative?
17 Mar 2025 15:14:41
Dow-ney - exactly. There doesn't seem to be an alternative.
