With transfer rumours going into overdrive at the moment and everybody and his dog knowing the reds have approached Messi, Harry Kane and Issak are we being given too much information these days?
What about surprise quality signings over the last few years?
Please share your thoughts.
Last one I remember was King Kenny replacing Kevin Keegan, ha ha.

There is definitely too much speculation. I'm not sure the there is much decent information, just that there is so much speculation that statistically some of it ends up being true.

I didn't follow world football as well back in the day but xabi Alonso was way better than what I was expecting.

Surely robbo has to be top of the list when it comes to signings in the last decade, nobody would have expected that a good, but not spectacular, left back from unfancied hull would turn out to be one of the best full backs in prem history.

Fabinho. Literally out of nowhere. He was the signing that put everything together.

I remember us signing John Scales and no-one knew about it for months.

Absolutely Victor. That second half performance against Barcelona in the CL semi final at Anfield, best I have ever seen by a defensive midfielder. How we miss him today ?????.

Oussama Assaidi, first thing I heard about it was when he was announced on the official club website. Absolute legend.

Suarez?
I knew he scored a lot for Ajax, but it was Ajax.
He looked good in the World Cup but was public enemy after the QF vs Ghana.
I didn’t expect him to be so good for us. He was a special talent, but a flawed human.

Tbf, a lot of our recent signings have been under the radar. In recent times, we have had Gakpo, Diaz, Endo, Szob, and Chiesa all being kept under wraps until they had almost signed for us.
