Just reading an article about Nunez. His stats are seven goals in 47 appearances, only 17 of which were starts. Life is a funny old game and not just in football. I'm sure in one game he hit the post and crossbar 4 times, that in itself is a record for the season and I believe? I have watched him fluff so many chances I was sure he would bury in the back of the net. In another world if he converted those chances we would all be singing his praise. Not knocking him and wish him well wherever he goes, it's just such a fine margin between hero and villain. You know if he drops his toast it's landing butter side down haha ? crazy how luck or chance paints a story.

Last season vs Chelsea weren’t it the woodwork one.
Lots of fans believe him to be a superstar and the hardest working player.
Slot only starting him sparingly and calling out his work rate shows that his opinion couldn’t be the polar opposite.

Yes JK I was there celebrating my 40th, couldn't believe it haha.

Suarez repeatedly hit the woodwork in his first half season (he was a January transfer) .
Then he couldn’t stop scoring.
There’s unlucky and then there’s just inaccurate.

After a certain amount of time on the pitch, you create your own luck. The reality is he hasn't been good enough.

You are correct about the Chelsea.

Silly Monkey true, but then that is just if, buts and maybes. At the end of the day he has the raw ingredients but lacks that consistency when it matters in front of goal. This trait is what separates good players from world class, we simply need to sell…. it doesn’t help that his link up play is virtually nonexistent too. Not a dig, I like him but it hasn’t worked out which is a shame because in the two benfica games against us he seemed unplayable, and clinical in front of goal.

The premier league is too fast for him in terms of finishing. He doesn’t have the same time as he does in other leagues or in training.
He’ll do really well in a league with a slower tempo.

Fully agree, Man. of. todd. Love Darwin to pieces and he is a fighter who does not hide in games and will stick it out until his moment comes and then, he takes it. The evidence is there for us to see.
However, he has serious confidence issues. Already, he is not scoring enuff and when his confidence goes, he simply becomes useless to the point of not being able to make a 5 yard pass. He has all the ingredients like you say BUT his issue is what's going on in his head. That is the part he has to fix and I think if he finds a team where many of these issues get mitigated, he would bang consistently. We already had 3 years of him. It' ain't working so better to cut ties and we all move on.

He would miss a chance but get his head down and work hard and keep pressing defenders and linked up well but since the turn of the year his work rate, attitude or whatever just seems off - his pressing just no effective anymore, link up poor too
The truly irritating things are the sheer amount of offsides he gets and obviously the finishing. The finishing so frustrating as he misses sitter after sitter then scores two clinical crackers tbf like in that Newcastle game and we are all left going wtf?

I don’t think he works hard enough on his finishing simple as that. Footballers throughout history have improved on their weaknesses and become better players for it.
He has great speed, strength, movement is okay, he’s tall and can head a ball.
I just don’t think he’s Working hard enough infront of goal behind the scenes. If he put 2/ 3 hours a day into shooting practice he’d be better simple, regardless of confidence or not, he’d be better infront of goal by working on it repeatedly.

I'm prepared to wait for him to do what we bought him for and what be is paid to do.
With him not speaking English, I think he thought we bought him to get booked and be caught offside.
If he knew he was supposed to score goals I'm sure he would've come good because there is a player in there.
Just not at football.

His shooting is a really good in training so I don't think it's an issue of him not putting in enough effort during training. He just can't replicate that during matches which indicates that it's more a mental issue than a skill one.
