If I kinda relate this to Kelleher - he has just joined Brentford, I’m sure after discussions with Thomas Frank - Thomas Frank is now the front runner for the Spurs job, if this happens I really hope they get a new manager who sees Kelleher as a number 1.

What I can’t get my head around is why Thomas Frank would want to take the spurs job - Brentford finished 10th this year, I know Spurs had a really poor season with injuries etc but I don’t get this “bigger” club thing what everyone says - Thomas Frank is doing a very good job at Brentford and then goes in to spurs who do go through managers like no tomorrow - if Eddie Howe was approached by Man Utd now would he take the role due to it being a “bigger” club? Thomas Frank has built up this reputation to then go and more than likely shatter that at a club where you really aren’t destined to do well ? messes with my head.

To make this more LFC related, I do hope that he either stays for Kelleher point of view or the new manager sees what is in from of them that he will be a quality Milner 1 for Brentford ??.

Maybe he sees his best players being sold and not replaced this summer and thinks bows a good time to double his salary, stay in London so doesn’t have to uproot family and take over a team where the only way is up which makes his job easier with their fans?

Tottenham are a more prestigious club than Brentford have better resources and facilities plus the champions league next season, the right manager should be able to steer them back to being competitive. If Frank has faith in himself then why not? Eddie Howe has given Newcastle a trophy and champions league football so as things stand it would be a downgrade for next season. Would Ireola go to Man Utd? Probably.

Tottenham is still one of the big six.

Ultimately if he wants to move up the levels of club. He isn’t getting a city/ chelsea/ utd (still a big job) / lfc. That is apparent where they’ve mostly had chances to hire once or twice recently and none have gone for him.

Spurs whilst in a mess, are a far bigger club than Brentford and he needs to prove himself somewhere like there as a stepping stone to a bigger job.

I don't blame Frank, Spurs are a bigger club. They could be run better but will he get this opportunity elsewhere? Would United or City go for him? Hopefully we won't have a need any time soon and he doesn't seem a Chelsea manager which probably leaves Arsenal next season if Arteta doesn't win.

Spurs will give him a 2-3 year contract, and if it doesn't work out he gets a heap of cash with very little reputation damage, as they all fail at Spurs anyway. From there he would probably walk into any lower half Prem team and he probably doesn't need to move home. No brainer for me because in all reality how much further can he take Brentford?

European football may be a big draw for him. You do see it a lot where managers feel they have taken a club as far as they can. possibly sees spurs as a "stepping stone". Lots of reasons why he would move.

I think Frank’s has taken Brentford as far as he can and Spurs whilst not being a sleeping giant are still hugely below the level they can and should be.

They have significant wiggle room with PSR and are in the CL.

With how their league campaign went last season now could be the time that the purse strings are loosened and a manager like Franks will definitely make Spurs a tougher opponent to play against.

Playing CL and PL football is a tough ask and it caught Newcastle and Spurs out.

If Spurs don’t strengthen significantly then it could be a similar season next year.

The problem is Frank works best as a coach where he doesn't have to make the transfer decisions, and there is an excellent data team, sports science and infrastructure around him to maximise resources. Brentford are one of the most advanced teams in England at doing this.

I don't know who bought the likes of bergvall and Grey and odobert and vuskovic, if it was their transfer team then they appear to be doing well, if it was Ange then who knows how Frank is going to fare without a setup determining the best players to go for.

Kelleher signed for Brentford Football Club, not Thomas Frank Football Club.

"Ditto" Ray Kennedy was signed on the same day that Sir Bill Shankly resigned! in other words the Club "PAID" for the signing not Sir Bill Shankly, same as above!

All very good points - with him apparently never managing a club with European football I guess he would see it as the next step for him.

I’m sorry but yes Kelleher signed for Brentford football club 007 but hasn’t Wirtz agreed to signing for LFC after having discussions with Slot as he was more impressed with Slot over the conversation (project) with Kompany?

Guessing Kelleher will still be happy then 007 if a manager comes in who wants to bring in his own number 1 making Kelleher the number 2 as he signed for Brentford Football Club not Thomas Frank ?.

sofa fan, Lucky Sir Bob Paisley kept Ray kennedy and not a "number two" in the reserves as you say above, as Ray went on to win three European cups with LFC and umpteen leagues and cups, in fact Sir Bob converted him to a midfield player from a striker, Gravy ring any bells Sofa, as he was a "number two" also for Klopp till Arne's conversion.

Brentford are coming up in the world, signing Kelleher as a "number two" in your words, must mean Brentford are signing a world class goalkeeper so Caoimhin to be in your estimations a "number two" also like at LFC.

In a roundabout way that also means the "eleven number twos" Jurgen left, was turned into eleven "number ones" by Arne last season, of course the same can happen to Kelleher this season, but his worst outcome will be like his last club LFC where he was sadly a "number two".

You haven't read my first post correctly have you Sofa, Liverpool Football Club are signing Florian Wirtz, unless Arne Slot Football Club has circa £120 million in their " number two" bank account that is?

So there you have it Sofa, "number two's" can also be more successful "number one's", as all the absolute winning history above has proved!

? maybe I haven’t read your post correctly but also vice versa mate ? or we both have a lack of understanding what the others point is… never mind eh ? we move on ?

Just hope it turns out alright for Kelleher as I think he deserves to be a “starter” in the PL.
