Whilst excited about the potential Isak, we do really need to address the CB area. Slot didn’t impress me today talking about midfield cover. Just buy players and replace those you’ve sold! Who needs another 2021 crisis which cost us.

It does feel like we are walking into a massive problem, one of our own making. We have needed another centre back for years now, to combat Gomez and Konate's injury issues. Now, we have sold Quansah and Slot is talking about Grav and Endo playing centre back. Grav? The best young player in the prem, awarded as such, and we are planning to utilise him as a back up centre back, when needed? And Endo, love the guy but he is unbelievably slow, and if Leao can have a field day, then I can only imagine what genuinely good footballers will do with the unoccupied space.

Hopefully just a distraction to throw people off the scent. But, it makes no sense to completely overhaul our offensive unit, and ignore the issues that have been plaguing our defence. Right and left back have been covered accordingly. Now, centre back has to be addressed not with 1 but 2 signings. 1 ready to challenge Konate, and the other to take on the Quansah role, to learn and develop in the background.

VVD is 34 and once again we rely on him to carry us over the entire season. We need two top class CB additions. Made a Himalayan blunder not to accept £40 mill off from Newcastle for Gomez last year.

There’s still a long way to go, but I’d be going all out for Guehi. I understand price may be a sticking point currently, but try and force their hand. The young lad from Parma would be good also.

Eds and ITK on here have all said we are going to sign a CB to add to the mix which gives u 4 senior CB including Gomez who has a minor Achilles injury . We also have young Stephenson as cover for the cup games.

The young lad from Parma will solve everything.
While never having seen him play I understand it takes a team of forty elite internationals to get the ball past him and there is absolutely no need for a goalie when he plays.

Guehi, we are still in for him. Palace need to lower their asking price tho. Ait Boudlal, Zeze and Leoni are still being "monitored".
Update to that is with rumours of Zeze going to Arabia. I think we can rule him out now. Lukeba I mentioned a while back as being another option to Guehi.

Less than 3 weeks to the start of the PL, we have two first CBs - if either or both pick up an injury we are in trouble., as I said on the rumours page. Like I said last week + who’s doing the defending?

If Konate signs then him n VVD are the first choice, Guehi mighnt want to come to sit on the bench for the main games . think we'll get a young center back not an established one.

Today has been more like it - we’ve managed to find something to worry @bout having spent in excesss of a quarter of a billion pounds … phew, at last.
I should add that I think the defence has been a problem waiting to happen since we got rid of one of our four CBs without - to date- replacing him with, at the very, least a better option.
