Right. Well here goes. Richard Hughes, I apologise for doubting you repeatedly.
I didn’t think he had the minerals, I’m scranning this humble pie and I’ll tell you what, it tastes Ducking Awesome!
What we’ve done here is set this club up for the next 6/ 7 years. It’s not even about this season. Which I expect will be very successful.
But we’ve formed the core of the future, at the exact right time, where VVD Salah Ali Robbo can all pass down the standard set by Jurgan, and now Arne.
All I can see is success. With this Manager, these players, our fans, and now Hughes and Co backing it. All I can see is Titles Upon Titles.

But we would’ve won multiple Premier Leagues, La Liga’s, bundesliga’s, serie a’s and Johnson paint trophies if we’d signed Marc Guehi.
Apparently Wirtz, Isak, Ekitike, Frimpong, Kerkez and Marmadashvili mean nothing without Marc. He was the glue. Our title winning centre backs of last season are clearly going to fall apart at the seams and I fear for us without Marc to hold them together.
I’m putting my money on Palace for the league. How can the fail with such a player in their ranks?

I don’t see why you’re apologising, mate - I’m certainly not. We went through a period of genuine uncertainty, and in that context, questioning Hughes was absolutely the right thing to do. None of us had the full picture - everything was speculation. Some chose patience, others voiced concerns, but neither camp had any more insight than the other. That’s the reality of it.
That said, we’ve since gone on to have a very good transfer window, so there’s no judgement from me now. Who gets the credit though? I honestly don’t know. If it’s Hughes? fair enough - he deserves it. But from what we’ve been told, there’s a whole recruitment team behind these decisions, so I don’t really understand why he alone is being singled out. All last season we were reminded it wasn’t just down to him, and yet now it seems he’s the one being painted as the architect.

@Salah, I generally agree with what you are saying but the criticism of . Hughes was way out of order.
The club had said that they wanted to assess the squad they had before trying to sign anyone which they did.
Then Hughes was criticised again for not buying anyone which was just factually wrong - he bought a very good young keeper who is already an established international and he brought in Chiesa on a relatively risk free (in terms of cost) established international player who is now starting to prove his worth. Hughes also tried to sign a very good DM, in the days before people stopped slagging RG off as being a waste of money. Zubimendi agreed to join and then changed his mind saying he wanted to stay in Pain.
Hughes did nothing wrong.
A year later and having made some excellent signings with massive potential to kick on, we are very well placed. We are in a much better position now than we might have been if those clamouring for Hughes to buy someone, anyone, just for the sake of it and hadn’t had the funds available to us in this window.
Anyway, as things stand we are in very good shape so perhaps all’s well that ends well.

I like how Salah was just voicing concerns and how those concerns were voiced about one man when they have been told 'there's a whole recruitment team behind these decisions' when praise and apologies are given.

Spot on, WDW. I have no idea how one can criticise someone's job perf. with absolute NO clue of what his actual job functions are. I thought it was just gratuitous slander and i never participated in it.
Now people can apologise for their bad takes on RH and that's all grand BUT I think the lesson here is just not to get caught up in all this drama. Cos at the end of the day, literally nobody (apart from the Ed's and others who share what they say they know) knows what tha football is going on.

Salah, why was he singled out for all the criticism last summer and in January then? Even though 'none of us had the full picture' it didn't stop the 'speculation' and you were one of those guilty of it.

No one expects you to apologise so you don't need to announce that you are not doing so ?. If someone else wants to, to show some humility and consider that they could be wrong, what's it to you?
I mean, someone told you there's a whole team behind the recruitment decisions, the transfers were easy to do anyway and we are champions of England and that would have happened if you'd had your way and sacked our sporting director last summer, wouldn't it? ?.
