Realistically what minutes do you see Leoni getting this season now it’s clear Konate wants to leave. If we go two up against Burnley in 60 mins. Could he come in and see the game out? I think he could and should. Get him in asap he could be the Bastoni! Yoro is playing at 18/ 19 in a poor team with next to no keeper but playing well. If your good enough your old enough! 3 yes senior to Rio.

people realize we play in the premier league aye? do you recall very many easy games where we can take off an established senior first team CB and throw on a teenage CB in the game to help protect a 2-goal lead for 30mins?

We have our best team in years. I don't think we should risk winning the Premier League and Champions League by unnecessarily playing an 18 year old new to the league just to prove a point. Right now Konate gives us the best chance of winning the biggest trophies. He hasn't done anything wrong, he's fulfilling the contract he signed.

To be fair Faith, how else is he going to get the minutes to develop?
The YLFP has played first team football in the Serie A, I don't see him wilting and surrendering leads left, right and centre if he replaces Konate for 30 minutes if in a reasonably comfortable position (which will happen over the course of the season, we will blow some teams away) .
I also don't think we'll spunk £26m on a prospect with no real intention of playing him in the first team.
He's probably 4th choice at the moment, but once Joe Go is fully fit again, there's probably more benefit bringing YLFP off the bench than Joe in some games.

CB is one of the hardest positions to come in and do well since so much depends on how well they can sync with the other CB (s) . But we do have the advantage of Vvd though and he has shown to be able to raise his game when talking through younger up and coming defenders. But I'd either start him or not at all. I'm not a fan of subbing out CBs in the middle of the game.

I'm sure he can do a job, just like Rio did. Are people saying that throwing the kids to save a game is our approach to winning titles? They will form part of the story but are no way going to be the norm
Leoni will get plenty of opportunities in training and in cup games.

From what I’ve heard there is a lot of belief in young Leoni from around the camp and at 2-0 with the players we have around him and the money we’ve spent is like to think he could do a job. Just my opinion.
