A question for the EDs, I take it arsenal are the team to beat this year for the prem and maybe in Europe. What is it about them that is separates them from the rest? Is it mainly how strong defensively they are? And can anyone stop them?

{Ed001's Note - squad depth in every position except striker. Of course they can be stopped and Arteta still has a tendency to play with the handbrake on. If he didn't, then they would be almost impossible to stop.}

After spending over 1 BILLION POUNDS! It’s the least that they can do.
Pep gets a bad rap for it and rightfully so, but his right hand man Arteta is of the same ilk. Don’t develop players, just spend 100s of millions on players.

God I dislike him.

Thanks ed01, much appreciated.

Arsenal are in a sweet spot in terms of squad depth. They have enough quality from the backups who are content to fight for a place for now, but this won’t be the case forever. They need to win it this season.
A firing Liverpool are still a better team than Arsenal, however, despite the latter club’s pretty astonishing spending since 2020.

Erm, we stopped them. We beat them 1-0.

08 Nov 2025 18:51:30
Artitty will fun it up for them. The ego has landed.

08 Nov 2025 19:31:16
Doesn’t matter that lfc beat them
The rest of the premiership will struggle to take 3 points and Arsenal will easily win this league as they are too far ahead and it will take 2 losses and maybe 2 draws for anyone else to a catch up and that ain’t happening.

08 Nov 2025 19:59:19
How are people giving up on title in early November and when they just dropped points come on. Even if they had won I wouldn’t be giving up at this point of the season. This is the best squad we have had in decades. Fair enough they haven’t yet gelled but I’m still confident we will win the league this season.

08 Nov 2025 20:13:01
They will have an off period, they always do. I think we'll beat City tomorrow and if we do we'll soon be catching up to Arsenal. They have a really good squad of players but with Arteta I just can't see them winning the league.

08 Nov 2025 20:26:26
I can see Arsenal winning the league. I don’t think it’s time to give up but our little meltdown has seriously dented our hopes this season. Our new team needs time to gel.

I wouldn’t be too surprised to see the champions league take priority this season for us, as the season goes on and players start to click with each other we will be getting to the later stages in Europe (hopefully)

08 Nov 2025 22:31:40
The nearer it gets to the pointy end of the season the more Arteta starts to lose the plot. I wouldn’t have Arsenal as favourites to win the league.

08 Nov 2025 22:32:20
Well there’s one of the draws.

08 Nov 2025 22:35:42
"Arteta still has a tendency to play with the handbrake on. "

Ed, you mean like he did today?

{Ed001's Note - exactly.}

08 Nov 2025 22:36:49
Well, this thread aged badly.

08 Nov 2025 23:01:05
Yes Redrebel, no chance Arsenal get two losses and two draws now that there's only 27 games left to play. I’m surprised they haven’t had the trophy presentation already ?.

People thinking arsenal are prime Manchester city and are going to go on a 27 game winning streak lol.
