2 wins and 2 draws from 4 games and a great result tonight. Can we just have some positivity tonight?

09 Dec 2025 22:08:29
For sure Flo but why do we FINALLY start Hugo and Isak together and bench the playmaker for the playactor? I can get behind Slot when the decision making makes sense. It never does.

09 Dec 2025 22:11:14
@Florian, I said it the other day, the win against West Ham and the draw against Sunderland weren’t bad performances.

Tonight was a good result and wasn’t a fluke.

The social media lead storm aside the past couple of weeks have been encouraging.

09 Dec 2025 22:15:10
Because hadn’t Wirtz started the last 3 games in a row and had only just come back from injury two weeks ago….

09 Dec 2025 22:17:50
Not in the slightest. Hate to be negative, but we just play some horrible slow football. It’s not how we play.

People were saying “oh it’s the San Siro, against Inter”. Rubbish, we have been playing like that for a while.

09 Dec 2025 22:19:43
Agree Red

Perfect game for Wirtz to start -
Positives - if we were riding high in the prem we all would say that was a perfect European away performance

Negatives - is there friction betweem Issac and Ekitike? Just nothing in their body language that suggests they get along?

09 Dec 2025 22:19:50
Tightened up aswell over the 4 games besides the mental 20 mins on Saturday. Subs did well tonight. Oh a good win is food for the soul.

09 Dec 2025 22:20:05
Suits me, Flo.
Good European performance, that. We got a bit of luck with the penalty but we'll take it; especially after the disallowed goal.

How did it not make sense, Flyer? We won and kept a clean sheet. We had more midfielders and defenders out there for a change.
And we'll never know what you'd have done differently would have made sense.
Enjoy the win, mate.

09 Dec 2025 22:28:00
Cherish the result. We've beaten a top team in their back yard. Keeps our CL hopes alive.

09 Dec 2025 22:29:29
No Salah last 4 games, unbeaten. It's been quite clear the two wingers and CON-ate have been the biggest problems.

The suggested all season Diamond System 4-4-2 was the biggest winner and the future.

Regarding Souness calling us LFC fans muppets, there was only ever one muppet when you were LFC manager Graeme!

09 Dec 2025 22:41:01
007, Souness said Liverpool fans who wanted Slot sacked were muppets. Just to clarify.

09 Dec 2025 23:03:08
Good result probably unexpected if being honest, no matter what side of the fence we sit on we all have to support the team.

09 Dec 2025 22:56:11
And a clean sheet, against a team that has won 4 of their first 5 games in the CL.

It’s a bloody good result and a better performance.

We’re not dominating games, but that would be unrealistic. Take the positives, work on the negatives.

09 Dec 2025 22:56:32
And for once I totally agree with Souness. Slot masterminded that victory and the players were right behind him. Without individual errors we would have won the last 4 games. Give the guy time to make a post Klopp team. And ignore all those who think every manager under the sun is being contacted.

09 Dec 2025 22:57:52
Regards to us playing "horrible football", I'm not bothered so long as we win. I've said on here many times, football under the legend Bob Paisley was boring to watch, but we didn't care because we conquered all before us. If you also want entertaining, that's your prerogative. It's great if you can have both but, to me, the important thing is winning.

09 Dec 2025 23:24:09
Correct, Rome.
Watching Liverpool is the entertainment. The result is the most important thing and watching and not knowing is my entertainment.
If I'm a neutral then I want wide open and frantic three all draws.

09 Dec 2025 23:59:31
Different back then Rome with passing it back to the keeper but we played some great footy under Sir Bob.

10 Dec 2025 01:08:36
Why can't we be entertaining and still win though Rigsby? Those things aren't mutually exclusive. The peak Klopp years were a joy to watch and we won our fair share too. Even in his later years where we slowed down we still played decent football. Slot ball is even slower compared to that.

Granted I wasn't complaining last year when we won the league but this year is just way slower with players taking two or three additional touches before passing the ball back to the CBs. We are unbeaten in four which is nice but performances have not hit the heights we know our players are capable of.

10 Dec 2025 02:48:06
I'm shocked at people so starved for any positives they rewrite the recent past.

Good result today, but we looked terrible again and there's no improvements beyond the result to point to for me.

10 Dec 2025 03:12:42
Rigsby, you're correct. Thx for straightening me out. Lots of positives.

10 Dec 2025 06:21:24
The best football we’ve played in years was for about 3 or 4 months leading up to, and just after winning the World Club Cup just before Christmas 2019. We seemed to play matches about every couple of days and not only did we beat all comers (except the League Cup match against Villa when we played our u-12’s because the senior squad had gone to the WCC), we played the best football we’d played in about 30 years.

My own opinion is that if you play great football you’ll win things and both style and winning can, and should, co-exist.

10 Dec 2025 11:46:54
Wdw we also had a set 11 basically the same team every week for the past two years up to that Christmas of 2019.I would argue a much better team than today. A far better team than ANYTHING in this league at the moment.
