The level of Anti Slot, get Slot out, Sack Slot on here now is just getting silly!
Has he made mistakes? Definitely!
Does he need to identify and remedy these mistakes?
Definitely!
He needs to find a system that works to implement our better players. A System to get the best out of Szobozlai and Wirtz.
The team needs to be built around these to players.
The biggest problem is our centre halves. As amazing a player as Van Dijk has been for us, I would say our greatest ever centre half, he is now just an average Premier league player! The fear factor has gone.
The less said about Konate the better. The pair would certainly been dropped if there was any competition but there is none. They have to play every game.
Add to that the fact that Mac Allister seems to have been replaced by a bad acting doppelganger and we have problems everywhere.
The football is poor and extremely slow but given all the problems he has had to deal with he deserves more time to put things right.
If he is here until the end of the season, which it looks like he will be, we should all get behind HIM and the TEAM

Magic words from the midfield wizard. I like Slot - seems a decent bloke, measured, and often quite funny. So, I really dislike some of the personal arrows being thrown his way.
That doesn’t make him a great manager, and some of the results, and performances, this season have been truly horrible. So, I do empathise with fans who think he has run his course.
But I want to see him turn this around as there aren’t many managers out there who have won titles in two countries, and he was as tactically smart last season as adrift this one.
Apart from City, every team seems to be playing a low block this season. That makes fast counter attacking football impossible, which - combined with injuries to Frimpong etc - is why we are playing so slow. I definitely don’t think it is the intention - Slot wants pace, and speed of thought.
I think it is absolutely possible not to be 100% confident in the direction of our travel under Slot this season, while also not denigrating the man or the achievements of last season.
At the moment there are just so many people castigating Slot for random stuff (youth team, his delivery of English in interviews), and not a single argument as to why the club would benefit from sacking him mid-season, and who would actually be better right now.
Slot had to get us back to basics (as Pep had to do same time last year) . 7 games unbeaten. It’s a start, and I for one am glad for that and the greenshoots in some of our attacking play (Wirtz, Eki and Frimpong all improving rapidly) .

Our football is abysmal! Every game
When winning we constantly look like imploding! Worst team in the league had us against the ropes for 35 mins Bradley saved us! It looks like 11 pish heads just got together for a game of Astro!
Yeah slot seems a nice fella but so is me mate Tony doesn’t mean I’d want near LFC!
We’ve not played one game this season I thought wow!

Some fans have standards and expect more from a title winning team after hundreds of millions spent on it. Some fans didn't expect the manager to sabotage the season.
And other fans are happy with the slop being served up, each to their own.

Jay, I thought Inter away was pretty wow. Beating a Champs League finalist on their turf - that’s the kind of rare achievement we would have applauded under previous managers.
We have to give credit where it is due, and point out when no credit is warranted. We are clawing our way back - let’s not turn into Man U and sack a manager every month or so. If you want Slot out, who do you want to replace him?
He has titles in 2 countries, so let’s set the bar at that level, and let’s see who you can come up with.
It’s great fun being an iconoclast and ripping stuff up, but you need to have a plan on what to replace the old stuff with. Otherwise, you end up with something like Brexit - ie let’s get rid, but let’s not think about what to replace it with. We hate the building! Let’s burn it down! Ah, shucks, does anyone know how to build a new one?

He’s massively underachieving and playing dreadful football as well.
The supporters are right to question if he’s the right person for the job.
I imagine he’s gone near the end of the season or when we inevitably crash out of the champs league.

I really really like him as a person and he is not clueless or anything of the sorts.
But I think many can only call what they see on the pitch right now which is subpar for the players we have and also incredibly boring.
I'm always rooting for improvements. I have succumbed to the slow buildup but now I need it played well with attacking intent when we get control high up the pitch.
Always hoping he turns it around.
I do complain now and then as the football is so so boring. No one can deny that. That's not an attack on Slot directly. That's a fact right now.
Slow buildup can be more exciting than what we are serving up week in week out. Hopefully he gets there.
Results have gladly taken a turn . For now at least.

Yes, mikey, the team is underperforming - I think every fan agrees with that analysis. But so many posters seem to hate Slot so much, when they were loving him back in May.
Frankly, it is a ghastly look. Sorry, but fans on here need to grow a thicker skin, and take the bad, with the good. Let’s by all means criticise the strategy, or even tactics, but the Playstation approach to sacking the manager, with no one having a replacement in mind, strikes me as self-destructive.
I have said it before: I measure a manager’s support from the fans who pay ridiculous money to attend away matches in Europe. And at Inter they sang him to the rooftops, long after the game was over. If they start jumping off the bus, then it is over.
Until then, let’s ride at dawn with Slot.

And we are a worse team! I thought the inter game was meh! So I’ll still stand by we are a mess! The team has no balance it looks akward and tired and boring any team the play us will think we can do these! We’ve lost that fear factor where teams would go balls LFC next!
Yeah he’s got some results but by the skin of his teeth!

That’s fair enough monstersouness. I certainly don’t hate the guy and can’t understand anyone that does.
If he turns it around then fair enough, excellent job. I wouldn’t call our little good run a turnaround though, this is a team capable of winning the lot year after year and it’s being wasted.
I do know from someone inside the club he was to be sacked during our terrible run and a replacement/ interim was being sourced.
That decision seems to have been put on hold, I dunno if it was the results improving our Salahs foot in mouth moment but I do feel the club have made the decision he’s to go at some point now.

So, basically no one on here has a brilliant suggestion as to who should replace Slot - apart from Enrique, who won’t be leaving PSG and was seen as a dud manager until 12 months ago. And may be a dud in 6 months from now.
But let’s sack Slot: he’s been rubbish since he won us the title for the 2nd time in 35 years. Let’s then rebuild, like Chelsea do. A five year plan, with Rio and another random youth graduate as the basis of the team.
Bring back Quansah, Morton, and Clarke. I mean, really?

Not once has anyone in my memory on this site commented on Slots English. Secondly we've a manager who is way out of his depth with the players he has. Thirdly if he doesn't know what to do with them he needs to go.

Monstersouness, I don't hate Slot. I don't know him and "hate" is a word I try not to use on anyone esp. when it comes to something as irrelevant as football in the bigger scheme of things as in, life.
However, I expected a lot more in terms of perf. levels from a title winning side and not the cowardly dross I keep being subjected to. I like Slot. I have nothing personal against him cos again, I don't know him. Sadly and it pains me to the bone to say this, he has turned us into a team scared of its own shadow to the point of being scared of the worst team the PL has ever seen.
Sorry, I ain't having ANY of that, good results be damned. Or are you sayin it is too much to ask for a team with talented players entetain us a bit more?
What I wanted Slot to do was learn from his mistakes and do better and get the players fit and firing. Slot refused to change and in fact, doubled down on this dross and from then on, he lost my support cos to me, he made it all about hilself gaslighting me about how well his style is working whereas my eyes bleed to death whenever I watch us play.
Whether he is sacked now or in the summer, is not under my control. If he continues to screw up then, he will get the sack on his own prolly in the summer and he would have deserved it cos he did it to himself.

People say it to each other every day and nobody would have a problem saying it to you in person. Ge a grip, or a dictionary ?.
