My 1st watch of any Afcon game Egypt v Senegal its like chalk and cheese Senegal all over Egypt, Mane giving everything he has for his country bursting his gut after everything just like his Liverpool days and has just put Senegal into a completely deserved lead. On the other side you have Salah totally ineffective ok not getting much support but doing absolutely f##k all to get involved and to try and get his country back into this tie.
Im not picking on Salah who I have idolise his whole Liverpool career I'm just stating that the drop off this year isn't just at club level but at international level also his time may well be up.

I think Salah had 4 goals at this competition. He literally had no service today. Not sure what he can do without the ball.

That Egypt team is terrible though, only three of their squad play for a European team. Prime Maradona couldn't win AFCON with that lot. Salah could do all the gut busting you like but he'd still have no one to pass to.

NOTSOZIPPY I just don't think Egypt are a very good team think they was lucky to go through the last round. Am just glad he is coming back soon to add an extra forward to our squad and I hope he can start scoring again for us. As we need all the players we have that can produce magic moments to counter act Slots tactics.

Egypt are awful when it comes to playing good football and since they offered nothing vas Senegal, the team that went for it eventually won.

There is a huge difference in the squad between Senegal and Egypt. Almost all of Senegal's players have played or are playing in Europe. The only two players I can recognise in Egypt's squad are Salah and Marmoush.

Is the level of AFCON really high, I haven't watched any of it. Although there are lots of good African players out there, it surprised me a bit to hear the likes of Mane were still doing so well. Great as he was for us that was a while ago now, and I hadn't heard much of him since.
{Ed025's Note - its about the standard of League 2 i would say Hugo, some very good individual players mind but the teams and standard of play is pretty poor imo mate..

Yoh Ed lol kicking my continent in the shins there :p In all honesty it is for sure not as fast and robust as the prem and other leagues. Just take it easy on us tho ;)
{Ed025's Note - it was not meant as derogatory MrJ, its obviously up an coming continent but still has a fair way to go i think, some of the best players in the world are African but you do need better coaches and infrastructure mate and a good showing at the world cup would help, but i do wish you well even though you are the Everton of the football world at the moment.. :)
