Hi Eds, Carra, Fields. Now that Egypt is out of AFCON, do you think that the issue around Salah interview will surface again, both with possible departure in January and or continuation of the Bust up with Slot? I saw Ornstein article yesterday, and he said that the club do not expect salah to leave now, and that he will stay for his entire contract. but it felt very much like an "narrative" handling piece, if any problems with him will surface again, or that if he will leave, E&H hands will be clean because it came from him not them pushing him out.
Also, the silence ever since he joined Egypt in AFCON, was quite bizarre, not only about the bust up, but also the rumors about Saudi and Turkey just vanished, nothing about what he "supposedly" feels after everything. Nothing nothing nothing. I find it very bizarre.

Did Slot and Salah not speak and clear the air?

He's played for us since the interview so why would it suddenly become a problem again? I expect it to be business as normal until the summer whilst others try to make a big deal out of something that the club, the manager and the players have moved on from.

Salah and Slot cleared the air. I don't expect him to walk straight back into the starting 11 but he'll be back in the squad.

Slot might not be everyone's cup of tea, including mine, but I don't think he's a liar. If he says it's cleared up then I believe him. That said I don't think Salah is an automatic starter and I still think of a good bids comes in for him he'll leave.

Egypt not out of AFCON yet, they play in the 3rd place playoff on Saturday.

@OP, no.

Salah not been very good or imposing himself on game. Something seems broken about him.

Rubbish Happy Peter you weren't saying that last year when he was breaking records. He's played well for Egypt and whilst he has been out of form when at Liverpool, so has half the squad. We know who that's down to.

Certainly not even one percent down to the players of course. Totally blameless.

Not watched any of the Afcon. How's Salah's performances been?
15 Jan 2026 12:07:57
against benin he was very good. got 1 assist and 1 goal, taken very well by beating keeper with ouside left foot shot from a center position. watch in YT, looks very good. Created another good chance for Marmoush or someone who could not score.

Some people, cough, Florian Musiala, can't seem to wrap their heads around the fact that an entire squad is not going to start underperforming at the exact same time without some sort of common denominator. Nor does the squad choose the ineffective tactics.

Using your logic then, chewy, does Slot then deserve at least a bit of credit for how Salah performed last season, or was that all down to Salah? Just asking.

Cheers Sami.

@Chewy, I assume Dom, Hugo, Wirtz, Kerkez and Jobes didn't get the memo then? Not all the squad have been as bad as they are continually being painted.

Mo's form always dipped before AFCON and after it . He was managing himself so he was ready for Egypt he is a god over there and around Muslim countries so you can understand it but i think he will be ready to come back to us determined to get back on the goal trail and bury the hatchet .
Congratulations to Sadio for reaching the final again here is hoping he wins it again . YNWA.

I would say Alli (when fit), Mama, Bradley (when fit), Frimpong (when fit), Virg, Kerkez, Jones, Szoboslai, Wirtz and Ekitike have had decent to good seasons. that's half the squad and im probably being a bit harsh on a couple more. that's half a squad but whatever fits the narrative.
