Here's a stat in light of the whole "12 unbeaten":

Liverpool have 5 wins and 21 points in their last 17 Premier League games - 1.24 pts/ game.

Roy Hodgson averaged 1.25 pts/ game during his 20 league games as Liverpool manager.

That's pretty grim reading that Wassa. Bring back Konchesky and Poulsen ay!

In all seriousness though, despite my above post on the performance/ style being better today, I still think Slots a dead man walking.

17 Jan 2026 19:41:48
Wassa, there are so many other stats (even tho, Im not a stats guy) that make this poor excuse of an "unbeaten run" look even worse.

17 Jan 2026 20:56:35
Although I kind of agree Oli it does show how entitled we've become when we are on a 12 game unbeaten run and we still moan.

I get it, we should be beating Burnley and Leeds at home but we must be doing something right if we haven't been beaten for 12 matches.

17 Jan 2026 21:38:00
What do you think we are doing right Sean Dundee? I really can't see what it is, so would love to be enlightened.

17 Jan 2026 21:51:10
Sean, stop with the gaslighting. Don't insult me. Also, how am I entitled exactly? We are crap and have been crap all season yet you say we shouldn't moan about the dross we are being served on a weekly basis. And Im entitled? Mate, don't get sloppy.

We have been doing near sweet nothing right. Look at the much vaunted"unbeaten" run. Do you know that if we fail to beat Sun. away (which is very likely), we would have failed miserably to beat all promoted teams combined only once?

Also, had Chiesa not ran he gonads off to thwart Sunderland from scoring a goal, this whole unbeaten run wouldn't be a thing, right? There is a lot more stats I can give you, btw BUT I'll stop here cos if I keep going, it could get really dark.

Of course we are Sean. Not saying were playing great ball but to go 12 unbeaten with away games vs ars nd inter in there u hav 2 b doing something right. Disappointing results in there aswell. its the 9 defeats in the 12 games before it that have caused the most damage.

As i said in another thread if they were going to sack him it should have been then. i thought tbe 1st half today was as good as we've played this season.

17 Jan 2026 22:24:08
People want the team to play good football and I think we played reasonably well, better than we have done lately, but, of course - to be expected - criticism is levelled at the team not winning. It's the old adage 'You can't have your cake and eat it'.

17 Jan 2026 22:41:32
WDW I'll be honest mate, Burnley today are one of the worst teams I've seen PL wise come to Anfield.

We did play some nice stuff but we also could have played a lot more.

At one stage one of our corners ended up back at Alison and we had about 7 opportunities to break and chose to turn back on 6 of them despite almost scoring on the one we did let the handbrake off for.

And I have no idea why every time a Burnley player ran with the ball our players just shadowed them and made no attempt to tackle.

17 Jan 2026 23:25:12
It's five wins in the last 17 PL games. You can spin your win against Inter all you want, which again was a fair performance not great. And Arsenal, we didn't register a shot on target all game and you're celebrating it. It's dross.

17 Jan 2026 23:33:26
If that first half of football was as good as we've played all season then we can kiss goodbye to CL football next season. Papering over the garbage we're looking at by referring to 12 games unbeaten as a positive is just cracked. If our bar, as a club and as supporters, is now that low, then it's a sorry day for all of us.

18 Jan 2026 00:09:02
Why would you start a point to throw shade at the "12 games unbeaten" and then use the previous 17 games to reinforce your point?

18 Jan 2026 07:42:44
Because Faith there are people using the "12 unbeaten" as evidence we are on the right track. We aren't.

It's a bit similar to the point you can go unbeaten all season and get relegated.

Just not losing isn't good enough.

That's the main point - and reinforcing that our run is as bad as a period when every man, woman and dog wanted poor Roy gone and he had such a poorer squad at his disposal.

West Derby Wanderer IV, actually you can. We have seen, continue to see and will continue to see teams playing well and winning majority of the time esp. with the type of talented players we have.

Let's not start twisting known facts and history just to placate this feckless manager and his feckless tactics and gaslight us into believing in the utterly absured and ridiculous.
