You're not missing anything. We're no further on in squad planning than under Jurgen when we ended up with two kids, and then a midfielder at CB.
Actually it's nothing to do with squad management, it's risk management. Our DOFs are told to keep the squad as lean as possible, don't reinforce defensively, it's the attackers who statistically win games, and we'll take a risk with three CBs, one of which is injury prone.

Why did they do that though Ed, is it to keep the wage bill down, or do they think we don't need a CB for the first team. I think it could be money driven, but the alternative is they're just incompetent in which case why is the likes of RH still here?
