This is a contentious post, but if we go out against PSG I would rather lose badly than lose by a single goal. Reason, I want slot to have nowhere to hide, he has to go. If he's in charge next season, this supporter since 1974 cup final will find something else to do with his time every week.
06 Apr 2026 22:19:48
I point blank haven't got it in me to wish defeats of any type on my own club. Even if there's a concept of 'greater good' that can be argued.
As far as I'm concerned, Slot has nowhere to hide *as is*, and unless by some miracle we win the Champions League - and we won't btw. I know we won it in 2005 with a far worse team, but at least those players who believed in their manager and were coached to put in a shift.
At the moment, we have a manager who's been encouraging the players to 'conserve their energy', and has now lost them cos that doesn't bloody work - he won't have anywhere to hide.

When we lose, you mean.
06 Apr 2026 22:28:00
Personally, I would rather we go through to the semi final.
06 Apr 2026 22:33:37
Same, but as I said, If we lose.
06 Apr 2026 23:17:02
I want us to win.
06 Apr 2026 23:32:13
I think it is fair to say most LFC fans will want LFC to win.

It astounds me how often this season posters have stated they want us to lose, or take a beating, to achieve some other outcome.
I wouldn't want us to lose even if it prevented Utd from winning the league. Slot is highly unlikely to be here much longer. Why on earth would you invite a humiliating defeat on the club and supporters?
It amazes me how often this season posters have said they will stop watching Liverpool play games (and then pipe up some more negative comments after the next match).
Try being a supporter of some lower league clubs who stand in the sleet and rain, watch dire football week after week. The term 'fair-weather fan' comes to mind.
We are poor, the football is boring for the most part and Slot needs to be replaced. However, the club and team still need its support through tough times and good. The club and supporters will be here long after Slot, Hughes and co have left the building.

Nobody actually wants us to lose, but sometimes it's better for the long run. A few weeks back I said the best thing that could happen for us is dropping to 8th and FSG cleaning house.
I'm sure plenty of people didn't like it, but look where we are now. I hate losing, I'm fiercely competitive, but not for the sake of ignorance. Sometimes you have to cut off a limb to save the body.

Darwin, watching a lower league club would be a hell of a lot more entertaining than what we've seen this season. The lower leagues are way more founded on passion and hard work, which has been lacking all season, which is the main reason the posters who remind you of fair weather fans have been so upset this season.

You are crazy. I def would accept losing by one goal. That gives us everything to play for at Anfield.
We can 100% get through in Anfield if we support the team.
07 Apr 2026 07:54:15
We just got stuffed 4-0 by ManCity - Slots still here.
I hope we win every game. Presumably then you'd want to keep the manager in charge?
07 Apr 2026 08:09:41
I just hope the away travelling fans don't let me down again.
I'm not spending 3 minutes of my life looking for a stream for them to travel all the way to Paris and leave early.

They're no better supporters than we are, JK. The sacrifice we make. I don't know about you, but I sometimes get a bit stiff (make your own jokes up) sat on the sofa for 2 hours.
Those that have to take time off work, spending hundreds of pounds to watch us in one game. They're still no more of a fan than we are. People on here say so.

I can understand some frustrations. Slot should have been gone after Christmas with a caretaker in.
This was poor from the heads.
It does feel like Slot / LFC needs an absolute pasting and to lose several games before we get rid.
Why he was kept on after Jan, I can't fathom.
Especially after City this weekend; some conversations should have resulted in him leaving. We can still finish in Champs League places, and it feels like we need this pelting for any change to happen.
This is, for me, on management though, who should have read the room and acted long ago.
07 Apr 2026 09:20:20
To be fair, JK, I live in Asia and I have to wake up in the middle of the night to watch these games, try to get some sleep afterwards (which is difficult when we lose, because try as I might to calm myself down through meditation or whatever, I do feel sad/angry when we play badly) and then go to work, sleep-deprived, later in the morning (sleep deprivation was fine when I was in my teens and twenties, but it's not so fun when you get older and have other responsibilities on life on top of it).
So spending 3 minutes looking for a stream isn't always a walk in the park, though, of course, nobody is taking anything away from fans who pay their hard-earned money and trek through the country waiting hours on highways or public transport stations back and forth. We all try and support the team in whatever form is available to us.
07 Apr 2026 09:57:26
I'm with you, Patrik. They really let us and Slot down, mate.
Just hope any fan going tomorrow night has taken Becker the Pecker's advice and learnt the true meaning of YNWA.

@barryw33, I think he has had nowhere to hide since October, based on his own body of work this season. It is his handlers that have protected him, so even if we lose, he is still protected.

Champions League kick-off times are typically kind to us Downunder :)
Now with daylight savings ended, it's a 7am kick-off.
And it's the school holidays.
And I am on leave.
And I am going to watch with my boys, win, lose, or draw.
We will celebrate, or yell at Mo, or hang our heads in disgust.
And we will do that together all in the excitement of another Liverpool match and in hope that the lads put in a performance they and us can be proud of.

"I know we won it in 2005 with a far worse team, but at least those players who believed in their manager and were coached to put in a shift".
SR, I get, but let's not act like that 2005 team were full of scrubs cos a lot of them weren't. The team had experienced winners who had won in England and Europe (Hyppia, Hammann, Gerrard), Finnan, in addition to promising young bucks like Gerrard (again), Xabi, Luis Garcia, Rise and even young Sinama Pongolle & Mellor chumping at the bit to make their name etc.
Some of those guys could ball esp. and were well-coached by a manager who knew how to win in Europe, as well where two legged ties were his speciality. Just making a small distinction, man.

Lucky you, Faith, I'd love for the games to be at 7am, much more manageable than 3 or 4 am. :(
07 Apr 2026 19:01:42
Match going fans letting other (super) fans down at 3am and 7am.
