Liverpool need to seriously fix up and start sorting that defence.
We need a right back plain and simple, not Frimpong, not Bradley, as they are both inconsistent.
We also need a left back with Kerkez.
You would have thought with the injuries and about of goals conceded that would be the priority.
We move too slow in my opinion.

Been saying this, relying on an aging VVD, two kids coming back from injury and surgery, and Gomez, who's injury prone (who also covers two injury prone RBs, one of which isn't really a RB), is absolute madness.
25 Jun 2026 11:15:51
We definitely need a RB and CB added to the squad.
I will say it's early in window, and not many teams have actually done business yet.
But equally, I have been regularly disappointed with us taking risks with positions in the squad, resulting in whole seasons being affected.

If the club buys a new right back, then what is the manager going to do with Szob and Jones?
He'd have to start putting them into midfield.
25 Jun 2026 11:51:21
No idea why we weren't in the conversation for Senesi on a free. Already knows the manager and system, and replaces another player who had just left without a fee... Not a perfect signing but a pretty safe one.
25 Jun 2026 12:01:54
Because we are after somebody else who is better and is considered a long term first team regular, I'd suggest Brown Jesus. Why after an average player who has already gone to another club? Just because he was available for free doesn't make him a viable option. There is a plan in place, you know.
25 Jun 2026 12:04:18
We have 4 senior cbs and 2 left backs and 2 right backs already on the books.
Then, we have the kids outside of this also.
We are not Chelski, we won't just stockpile players and inflate the wage bill without shipping out others first.
The club is clearly working on YD currently. From there, they will move on to the next target, which seems to be a central midfielder, not a defender.
Keep calm. It's a World Cup window; business is slower. We will get there in time.
25 Jun 2026 12:07:11
We have been short a centre half for about 5 seasons now, SG, so please enlighten me on this grand plan.
25 Jun 2026 12:24:42
I'm not trying to say oh because Chelsea buy two defenders we need too as well I can't stand their model.
But,
Senesi, Lacroix, that's Prem experience, we need that.
Hence my frustration at LFC sleeping.

Personally, I'm still of the opinion that Frimpong can be a good rb in Iraola system.
He has good speed and energy to join attacks and play a high line.
He needs some added focus on his defending and some simplification on his attacking decisions. I also think his attacking style will be far more effective at rb arriving late.
I'm not blaming all his performances last year on style of play, but I definitely think he is not a winger. I still think there's a good rb there though.
Still would like to buy a competition option though.
25 Jun 2026 12:52:45
Brown_Jesus, that's cos (and this is my opinion) Senesi is simply not who we need as he wouldn't improve us. He is simply not good enuff.
Now, we may need a CB to come in, and I agree with you there, but that doesn't mean we should just bring in any CB out there, esp. one who isn't good enuff to improve.
25 Jun 2026 13:00:32
Haven't we signed 5 CBs in the last 12 months? If so, I can't see us buying any more unless one leaves. A right-back, on the other hand, should be a priority. I don't mind Bradley or Frimpong, but their injury records are horrendous, and it looks like (unless Iraola's fitness coach can turn things around) we cannot rely on them to be available.
25 Jun 2026 13:05:01
Postklopp, Window's not been open 2 weeks yet, calm down. We have been linked with both RBs and CBs, clearly the club is in the market. We don't need an LB as Tsimikas is back off loan.
25 Jun 2026 13:08:46
We don't have infinite money though, Oli, we have to compromise somewhere.
Many would say we need a CB, RB, 2 Wingers, a backup striker and a midfielder minimum. And that's without any sales. There's an argument to be made that Munoz ticks one of the boxes.
Nobody is suggesting players like Senesi and Darwin improve our starting 11, but they're warm bodies that the squad is desperately calling out for, and leave funds to go out and buy players like Diomande, Barcola, Palestra etc.
25 Jun 2026 13:09:10
He PostKlopp we have VVD and Gomez with bags of PL experience, then we have two of the top young CBs in world football with Serie A and Ligue 1 experience under their belt.
We can't take players on who don't improve the side just because they have played in the league, it would not make financial sense, both players mentioned don't improve what we already have on our books.
Obviously, we are all very much entitled to an opinion, and I do respect everyone's, so don't take this the wrong way.
I just don't see value in spending for the sake of it when we have 4 senior players in that position.
The young Austrian kid also seems to be very well thought of!
25 Jun 2026 13:11:34
We have enough CBs imo, with 4 senior players and just as many youth players. We have Vvd, Gomez, Leoni, and Jacquet with Adekoya, Ndukwe, Ndiaye, Nallo, and Lucky filling in when needed.
As it stands, I think Jacquet and Vvd would be our first choice next season while Leoni recovers from his injury and Gomez plays the utility role.
Unless one leaves, I don't think CB would be a priority, especially since there are more pressing issues in the squad at RB and RW, we have yet to address.
25 Jun 2026 13:53:04
Surely it's the midfield what needs fixing. Grav, Macallister, Slobz, Jones n Endo is our midfield, id only keep one or two of them as it stands. Then we need at least 2 top quality strong midfielders, that will help the defence out massively.
25 Jun 2026 15:39:19
I don't need to enlighten you, Brown Jesus. Just think about it yourself for a bit. The answer is not hard to discover.
25 Jun 2026 16:05:19
How are Liverpool sleeping? We've been working hard on getting our top target this summer, which is progressing well behind the scenes despite being a very expensive and complicated deal, and we signed another extremely promising player without any fuss whatsoever. Do you expect there to be 5 deals in the pipeline at one time?
25 Jun 2026 20:32:57
Transfer fever showing already.
