Do you think it's possible Bezos could get Amazon on the shirt as sponsor? If so is there any limit to what it could pay? Like could he decide 200 million yearly or would that be against the rules. I see the Standard Charter agreement ends May 2027

I'm not an expert in these things, 420FL, but I think it has to be "within fair market value". So the answer would be no. But it could be higher than the Standard Chartered deal.

This is what we're up against. All some are interested in is how much money they're potentially bringing in so they can boast on X saying we've bought this and we've bought that.
The look at me culture these days is absolutely ridiculous!
Personally, wouldn't want Bezos anywhere us, but me cancelling my Amazon subscription probably isn't going to hurt his pocket that much unfortunately.
{Ed078's Note - Agreed. Have never purchased anything on Amazon. That's not just anti Bezos and toxic capitalism, it's a desire to support local and small businesses.
Hurting his hip pocket isn't the point, the principle, the ethics... they're the point.

Yes you're right there. Call me lazy, and using it as an easy way to get things next day etc, especially around Xmas time. Appreciate what you're saying though, I do try and support my local businesses where possible, but I'd be lying if I said it was always the case.

I'm pretty shameless. I hate what Amazon are (a tax avoiding mega corporation destroying local businesses), but by god is it practical. For less than a tenner a month, I get a really good TV streaming service, next day delivery on pretty much anything, and a few live football games a year.
I'm not even going to pretend I'll ever boycott it, because I won't!

I use my local town shops as much as possible, even if I'm paying more, I don't care. Sometimes it's worth it. It's socially and soul destroying having small retailers struggling and eventually close down, but local authority rates and government taxes, pay scales, and the scurge of online retail means it's only going one way unfortunately.
I don't know how they survive in business, tbh. My town is now predominantly full of nail bars, vape shops and barbers! A lot of us here believe it's money washing! In contradiction to the above, I still have a bloody Amazon account!! Even though I don't use it, it's still shame on me.

Ed and Ashy, I agree along with you, MKS. I wouldn't let that Bezos guy fund my kid's lemonade stand. Can't stand the guy nor his ilk esp. that meth head Elon.
As for Amazon, I no longer shop there anymore after I heard and read about the despicable way his workers are treated. Full and total boycott for me, personally.

I don't think anyone can avoid the exploitative nature of capitalism.
Sure you can avoid Amazon and support local businesses but those local businesses will be supplied by large international shipping companies, multinational suppliers.
And those shipping and supply companies will almost certainly rely on child labor, resource extraction, exploitative labor practices, tax evasion, etc
The teat is the problem, not the people suckling from it. There's no such thing as non exploitative capitalism, it inherently relies on exploitation to function. So saying you wouldn't use Amazon because you want to support local business when local businesses rely on the businesses you're trying to avoid is good natured but ultimately misguided

I am not going to run on Twitter and run my mouth about anything. I was simply curious if it is against the rules for Bezos to put Amazon on the shirt for 200 million a year. Everybody wants shiny new toys year in and year out...
As for the morals of Amazon and Bezos owning the club, I could care less. I want LFC to win every time they play, and could care less about the morals of the owner, company, etc. At the end of the day, sports is entertainment, not a moral compass.
