I reckon our next home game might break records for the most watched prem game of all time.
I've seen so many rival club fans say would kill to have a ticket that day.
The world's watching and we just know the home crowd is going to put on a good show.
I'd like the cheats bus to have to drive down the street lined with thousands of our fans, all chanting "cheats" the most intimidating as they can do it without actually tipping over the bus.
I hope our players refuse to shake hands.
No let up in the game with boos and cheats chants all the way through.
I really hope there's loads of new banners and some home made ones and the tv cameras make a point at showing every last one.
I hope Anfield absolutely rattles them and we smash them 5-0.
And I hope city has to face that every week until they get relegated.
What are you lot hoping to see on the day? (Serious and unserious please)
Maybe an open top bus parade celebrating the trophies we should have won escorting the city bus into the stadium? Could have a tipsy Klopp stood on the top deck posing with 3 Premier League trophies? Haha.

Lots of Cheetos pelting the bus as it arrives at Anfield, maybe a few hundred inflatable giant Cheetos too.

I'm no lyrical genius so can't work out the first bit, but 'dont look back in anger, you cheating *unts' does have a ring to it even if it is a word I wouldn't generally use.
The game is going to be wild, and could be right up there with one of the most hostile days we've seen towards an opposition team. I hope no one crosses the line but can almost guarantee some will.
As for city, the biggest issue for me is, they have falsified the foundation of the success. So yes this period under investigation is in the 2010's but everything is tainted. You don't get peps success without the financial doping that comes before.
But some of the excuses I've seen to minimise the punishment are laughable. Trying to connect it to groundsman or the players didn't cheat. It will be the everyday staff that lose at most, as usual, but it cannot be used as a way to lessen what city have done. £100s of millions added wrongly, they cooked the books and need the book throwing at them to suit. And let's be honest, that's only what's been found I can only imagine it's deeper.

Would love to see the same.
Though its a bit harsh on the players. They not the ones doing shady stuff so trying to intimidate them i think is going a bit too far. I'm sure they are not feeling too great and feel ashamed themselves already.
Then again this may also backfire and give them a firework up their b#m to stick it to the Prem and we may fire them up if we confront them.
I watch sport for sport not for the drama, that's why this is so stupid its turning the game into days of our lives and i hate it. What happened to no politics in sport noise.
The club needs to be punished so severely no one would ever think of doing it again. It's brought the game into disrepute.

Mikey, there is no way our players will refuse to shake hands, neither would I want them to.
{Ed025's Note - why not have their players hung drawn and quartered?..ffs, this has nothing to do with the players, its the owners and hierarchy that are to blame ..

MrJones, actually there was at least 12 players who were (knowingly) benefitting from sham image rights deals, which were through shady additional contracts, what we don't know is the true extent of it. Also, the case only covers up to the 17/18 season, so whilst we may not (yet) be able to prove that the current roster of players are receiving additional unreported payments outside of their contracts, given the extent of the deception the length of time it went on for, I would be very surprised if they weren't.

Lots of 'Sham-chester' chants hopefully!

A good performance and 3 points is all that matters. There's no point forcing this game to be symbolic when the protagonists are not present.
30 Sep 2026 12:39:14
Some of them will be present FPF. There's usually a few executives in the Royal boxes. Those who aren't will be watching along with a worldwide audience! Are ya mad for it??? Absolutely!!
30 Sep 2026 12:41:26
And I agree fully FPF 3 points is the right way to end the day! I hope Gakpo makes this one he has proven integral to many positive things this season. He'd be a loss.
30 Sep 2026 12:42:14
And I fully agree with Rome too regarding the pre match handshake.
30 Sep 2026 12:46:41
I love all the above posts. Most especially ED25s idea of a William Wallace style execution! A mighty suggestion altogether!

We have a new coach, new coaching team and a lot of new players, some very young, that need to settle at a club that has been through a difficult 15 months. Personally, I don't expect more of them that we'd normally expect - good performance and 3 points. Expecting them to deliver some form of retribution to City on the pitch would be a bit unfair.
Regardless, I expect the atmosphere will be feral. Hopefully the players use that atmosphere to perform at their best.

Fair play Chewy (something city know nothing of). I loath City because they have been found guilty, i'm not going to paint their staff with the same brush unless they are found guilty themselves. Innocent until proven guilty and all that. I do suspect some knew but i'm not jumping on any bandwagon doing speculation and spew vitriol at em.
That being said i do hope the largest hammer comes down on them and it will hurt the non playing staff and playing staff unfortunately, that makes me dislike them even more that they have betrayed the people who have given them so much.
I want Liverpool to win fairly on the pitch without showing hate and show the City owners how it is supposed to be done.
30 Sep 2026 14:13:42
I honestly won't give a toss about all the Man City stuff that day. Three points would have us 3 off the lead and continue Andoni's good start. couldn't care less what happens to city. if the atmospheres a bit more electric because of it then so be it.
30 Sep 2026 13:49:13
Ed025, thinking the players had nothing to do with it or didn't know what was going on is just naive beyond belief. For starters, Yaya Toure was named as a player receiving external payments from the to City owners. If other players received payments beyond what was specified in their Man City contract, then that would be definitive proof they knew the whole place was operating dishonestly.
The players are not directly to blame as they had no control of the clubs finances, so what you say is correct, however.
{Ed025's Note - I think it’s very seldom that a player will get involved in contract matters Lowe. They have a plethora of advisors and agents who deal with that lark mate. The players are only interested in on field matters I expect..
30 Sep 2026 14:26:29
Iron man, and you know the City fans are going to call the Wham-bulance about that.
30 Sep 2026 14:02:31
The biggest question mark I have is what happened to the accounts after 2018?
It appears the "sponsorships" appeared to grow at a steady pace. We know know they were topped up by the owners considerably up to 2018, but surely the same was happening after? So is there going to be another investigation into the later years?
Sorry ed025 I have to respectfully disagree about the players being completely innocent, they knew exactly what they signed up for, the massive amounts of money they all got is tainted, that makes them cheats as well for me. Refusing to shake hands is a symbolic gesture that's going to be seen far and wide and is absolutely the right thing to do for me.
{Ed025's Note - i think thats very harsh Mikey, i cant tell you how to think of course mate but for me they are just employees who play for the club and are completely blameless..
30 Sep 2026 17:27:55
I genuinely hope that City are met with a chorus of cheating chants for 90 minutes of every game until they are put out of the league. As for the players, whilst I'm a little on the fence about what they knew and didn't know about contract details etc what the current crop of players did know is that City were under investigation for 115 charges of cheating and many decided to turn a blind eye and sign there big contracts.
many people will say that city were innocent until proven guilty but unfortunately people are also guilty by association, we all saw the leaked emails long before yesterdays official statement, City also dodged other sanctions purely on technicalities so in my eyes players can take a bit of chanting and jeering from opposing fans.
{Ed025's Note - how Thuggish..
30 Sep 2026 21:16:41
Winning the match and, at the same time, expressing an opinion about the owners is Manchester City aren't mutually exclusive.
