Been trying find out if a bd has gone in for Isak and I'm told an offical bid has not been put in but negotations have been ongoing, with an agreement reached. Contract has already been agreed. An official bid will be put in within the next week, its expected to be accepted and Isak will sign before the league kicks off.

Nothing really new but hopefully it clarifies the situation a bit.

I'm also told Zabarnyi, Lukeba are the backup options to Guehi if we can get a non-homegrown player off the books. If not Konsa and Cresswell could come into play.

Wirtz Isak Salah
Gakpo Etikite Chiesa/ Rio

Maca Gravy Sobo

Robbo Virgil Konate Frimpong
Kerkez New CB Gomez Bradley

Alisson
Mamar

This squad looks very nice to win everything.

What are Newcastle doing about a replacement though? Are they closing in on somebody? Because it seems Sesko is going Utd. Surely they can't accept our bid without one or better two strikers secured?

30 Jul 2025 17:36:50
It's becoming apparent that letting Quansah leave so early in the window was shortsighted.
I appreciate sometimes you have to speculate that things will fall into place, but it's looking a bit dicey atm.

30 Jul 2025 17:38:52
Agreement reached with who mate? Newcastle or Isak? Cheers.

30 Jul 2025 17:43:48
Thanks thefields ??.

30 Jul 2025 17:46:28
I would think Zabarnyi is a far better player than Guehi, but what is his transfer cost?

30 Jul 2025 17:54:38
I like the sound of Zabarnyi, prem experience and tall according to Google. What side of CB does he play? Is he a ball player like Virg?

30 Jul 2025 18:36:03
I think United may struggle to add Sesko unless they manage to get some of their players off the books? Hopefully that will give Newcastle the upper hand.

30 Jul 2025 18:37:01
Are PSG not closing in on Zabarnyi?

30 Jul 2025 18:37:28
Konsa is decent as a third/ fourth choice. I’d take him vs our current options.

30 Jul 2025 18:54:14
We have an agreement in place with Newcastle to sign Isak Marty, just not been officially submitted.

Not been told any specifics on CB and I don't know much about Zabarnyi tbh.

30 Jul 2025 18:57:30
Wirtzenjoyer, it doesn't matter as that ain't our problem. We will still get Isak even if they don't sign Sesko. I know one thing tho, if he joins a team that was fighting relegation last season over a team that's going to be in the Champions League next. he's an idiot and will probably waste his potential ?.

30 Jul 2025 18:57:31
Cheers Fields. hopefully your gut instinct is wrong about him and we get him in before the Newcastle game fingers ??.

30 Jul 2025 19:28:38
Hi Fields, thanks, so you saying we have agreed a price etc and we just need to formally submit it? What are we waiting for? Thanks.

30 Jul 2025 19:57:28
Hope so 2shoes haha.

Aye, giving them time to find a replacement is probably why Marty. I think the tour and impending Adidas deal could of had a slight impact on it as well.

30 Jul 2025 20:11:02
Waiting for the Nat Phillips money to arrive to pay for Isak.

30 Jul 2025 20:54:24
Cheers Fields. I don't just mean Sesko tough (99% sure he's going Utd, they'll sell someone to raise funds), I mean just anyone. These fools couldn't pull a pint in a brewery it looks like.

Just a bit nervous about this deal. We really need this to happen as we can't go into a season with 3 senior forwards that Slot actually rates and there's nobody left on the market whos good enough. You could say Rodrygo but I doubt they want to block Rio like that.

30 Jul 2025 20:54:52
I just don’t really understand why a club would negotiate a fee and reach an agreement but not submit a bid.

Unless, they were trying to be a tw@ by speaking to the player and then low balling with “an official bid”.

I don’t believe any of it, if it happens then great but one day we’ve made a bid, the next we haven’t made an official bid we’ve just reached an agreement and we’re waiting a few days before putting in an official bid.

Just weird stuff.

30 Jul 2025 21:05:10
If i'm Newcastle I want no positive confirmation of an agreement until after main business is done. Prices will already be high, imagine them after a £100m+ sale and the look of desperation is apparent.

30 Jul 2025 21:18:23
Still weeks to get a Quansah replacement. Because of his contract situation Guehi'll probably cost £30m less than Zubarnyi or Konsa, that's why it'll be him.

30 Jul 2025 21:46:41
If you're Newcastle, then selling Isak without a top class replacement is costing you a lot more than £150m.
Without him (having lost Wilson) they are toothless in attack.
He was their best player and game changer for them multiple important games.
They will be playing CL this coming season and trying to stay top five.
The cost of a bad CL versus a good one is huge.
Compare our 2023/ 24 income from Europa League to our 2024/ 5 income from doing well in the CL league phase (£100m or thereabouts) .
Plus, if Isak leaves without a top class replacement, other world class players in their squad - Bruno G, Tonali - start wondering if they are better looking elsewhere too.
All of which means, if I was NUFC, I would not sell Isak, even for £200m, without being sure I had a replacement - probably two new strikers - absolutely nailed on.
So I don't agree that Newcastle failing to sign people is not our problem.
If they don't sign a replacement, they won't sell Isak.
Far better for them to have a slightly disgruntled player - who's in contract - who will still want a crack at a good PL and CL campaign, and then plan properly for a replacement next summer.
(Which by the way might suit LFC too. )
Personally, I think this one has a long way to go.

30 Jul 2025 22:16:47
Why do we need to understand the situation of agreement and official bid. Just let the clubs sort that. At the end of the day the take from this is we are getting the player at the end of the day. On Quansah maybe he was seen as not good enough or the money offered just couldn't be turned down. Or he wanted out but there wasn't a big deal made about it cause he was a 3rd/ 4th choice player.

30 Jul 2025 23:09:33
Nothing in the Zabarnyi to Liverpool rumours. PSG is the only likely destination but even they’re being priced out having discussed £55m and Bournemouth wanting £65-70m. If the fee drops he will be off.
