Rumours that Ekitike is to be fined two weeks’ wages.
I’d be surprised if that was entirely true, but I can’t say I’d have much sympathy with him if it was.
The celebration was entirely unbecoming of a Liverpool player having scored an open-goal tap-in against a lower division club in the Carabao Cup, and such a self-absorbed display cannot be happening again - he needs reminding that we don’t do that at Liverpool, the team is the main man.
We needed him this week, because the trip to Palace just became substantially harder.

I trust 2 things:
1) Slot will deal with it in the most appropriate way
2) Unless it is reported by the club, all other media outlets are probably just making stuff up to get clicks.

Young lad gets a big money move and a second chance at a big club. He has real competition for is place from the record British signing. His start at LFC has been good, the fans have taken to him and he is delighted to score the winning goal for the club.
A bit of a mistake removing his top but this a non story.

First yellow shouldn’t have been a yellow. The second was just naivety and plain stupid but he isn’t the first to behave that way and I would rather he builds some passion and support with the fans than run off smiling for the cameras.

I have a vague memory of a stat that At one stage salah had more yellow cards from taking his shirt off at old trafford than manu had scored goals against us. Personally I think it’s an out dated rule. Id much prefer them to start handing out cards for flops.

He has shown a touch of Darwin there - the fine is a good call and should help him learn to reign it in. He seems quite egocentric and needed a dose of humility, it will serve him well in the long run.

It is very common for players to be fined for getting red cards - think I heard Ben Foster talk about this in his podcast - and given how needless it was I am sure Ekitike will get fined. I get it the emotion of the moment, etc etc but he’s a pro, and we’re now an important player light for our next game - he has to make better decisions.

@Why, So you're saying that Eki-Techy wasn't going to get fined after all? So it was all fake news from the beginning? That tracks.
As for the overblown nature of the story, a mountain out of a molehill, really. Must have been a lot slow days at the office for all these days after the storm in a tea cup happened.
