Hi Ed 01, what can be the reasons why slot has not been relieved of his services yet?

{Ed001's Note - because they want to give him every chance to turn it around.}

28 Nov 2025 16:40:53
Madness he should have been sacked weeks ago.

28 Nov 2025 16:48:31
That’s pathetic . a win here a few losses after that it’s not going to change it really won’t the whole set up is wrong it’s just perpetuating the issue. these games are just awful to watch and the players are defeated before the games starts. it really is going to
Be an insufferable long season isn’t it.

28 Nov 2025 16:52:40
He doesn’t change anything to alter the direction.

West Ham away will be the same formation, same Line-Up, same tempo, same style, same Result.

28 Nov 2025 16:54:13
Give Slot 4 more years!

He's obviously just giving everyone a chance so his 2nd title win is more impressive, I thought it was obvious.

28 Nov 2025 16:54:50
Ed, do you also think it's because they haven't lined anyone else up yet as well? Do you think they could be talking with a few agents/ clubs? I honestly hope Slot turns it around, but not sure that he can.

{Ed001's Note - no, when they decide it is time, they will worry about that afterwards.}

28 Nov 2025 17:19:29
Ed who would you get in temporarily, if we have to wait for Iraola, or do you think Iraola signing mid season is well possible?

I understand that there are not lots of options at this time, but Slot has lost the plot.

{Ed001's Note - I would think we could get Iraola immediately, but if not, then it would depend if it is just while details are sorted or to complete the season. If it is the rest of the season, would perhaps a Dalglish overseeing any coaches be a decent option? Unlike Klopp, who does not want a return, Dalglish would absolutely jump at the chance. Or maybe Rafa? I don't see many options really for interim.}

28 Nov 2025 18:16:55
I am informed 2 games to save his job, 6 points required….

28 Nov 2025 18:33:18
Ed, I'll admit I haven't watched Bournemouth very frequently, but you seem sold on it.

What makes you confident that the style of play will translate well with this squad? I'm not doubting it at all, just genuinely curious.

{Ed001's Note - because it is very similar to Klopp's.}

28 Nov 2025 18:41:25
Thanks Ed -Do you think the interim would have to maintain the vision for tactics / style that edwards and hughes are trying to implement, or could Rafa do Rafa things?

At least Bournmouth would get money for Iraola if he leaves now - interim sounds unsettling and riddled with issues.

{Ed001's Note - interim just has to get the best results possible, however it happens to be.}

28 Nov 2025 18:42:56
Funny ed1 I thought if going for an interim manager for a shortish period daglish would be good bet. His enthusiasm and old school outlook to football maybe just what we need at minute. I don't think gerrard r klopp would be right choice for the role unfortunately and that's my head ruling my heart.

With daglish we would all, as supporters, be v clear it's a short term thing whether he does v well r not.

28 Nov 2025 18:51:38
Ed, Rafael is a no go as he only recently started a new job.

{Ed001's Note - mate Rafa would dump any job to come back. I just don't think it would be the right choice, even on an interim basis. Love the guy, but his time is done. It was just if an interim was required for the rest of the season there are very few options. Personally I would not want to wait that long and I believe a deal could be made with Bournemouth.}

28 Nov 2025 19:33:17
Although our power structure is normal there much be a few coaches who would prefer to stay where they are rather than working with Hughes and Edwards. And Hughes and Edwards probably don’t want anyone that challenges them too much, or gets in their way.

That must be massively in Iraola’s favour. I couldn’t see Rafa putting up with too much for too long without speaking out, but agree he’d jump at the chance to come back in any capacity. I wouldn’t mind it interim wise as he’d tighten things up and grind out wins.

28 Nov 2025 20:03:05
Would you just get on and do inevitable ed? Sack him and get Iraola in?

{Ed001's Note - yes, I would.}

28 Nov 2025 21:01:13
I hadn’t taken much notice of Iraola and in particular his tactics but in recent days I’ve been reading up a lot about him and as Ed’s have said he appears to favour a Klopp style of football and loves high press, physicality and flair in the final third. After reading everything I tend to lean more towards him than alonso as I don’t think our squad is shaped for Alonso, I also think alonso appears a little weak or naive in Europe.

I’d rather get Iraola now rather than wait on the possibility of Alonso. Wild card of inzaghi, loved how his Milan team played but again favours a back 3 which will never work in our league.

28 Nov 2025 21:54:35
Zidane until he takes over France. After that Alonso or Fabregas. Ariola and flasher aren’t it.

28 Nov 2025 22:03:43
I totally agree ED01. I believe he can do it. Zero problem. It's a risk, but one very much worthwhile taking. It's a no brainer for all parties, Inc supporters. Well, me anyway.

28 Nov 2025 22:32:57
Jerry, Zidane barely speaks English and his style of football is every bit as dull as Slot.

29 Nov 2025 13:38:36
Ed001, would you favour Iraola above Alonso?

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

29 Nov 2025 16:22:27
I agree Ed unfortunately alonso had his chance and chose Real Madrid, very silly decision but being Spanish understandable. Bournemouth are really the only team that plays very nice attacking football, and are entertaining to watch, iraola is the style we need. We still need guehi and go for semenyo also.
