Is everyone nailed on for xabi, who else anyone thinking de zerbi anyone personally like the attacking football.

{Ed025's Note - not for me Mj, his teams can get beat by some very average teams 3-0 mate.. :)

27 Jan 2026 17:41:16
Rather have zebadee.

27 Jan 2026 18:04:12
I'd rather keep Slot than De Zerbi an utter fraud.

27 Jan 2026 18:15:17
Prefer a Zebra.

27 Jan 2026 18:23:25
Brilliant Ed25 ?.

{Ed025's Note - cheers mate..

27 Jan 2026 18:25:16
99% of time it's a horse.

27 Jan 2026 18:46:57
Iraola at the moment.
Worked with Hughes before, seem comfortable managing a lot of regular squad changes.

Both are big gambles unfortunately. There isn't the slam-dunk talent out there like there was with Klopp. I don't know, maybe Enrique comes close to that.

27 Jan 2026 18:55:20
We'd be better off hiring DeVito.

27 Jan 2026 19:06:46
Xabi all day. Im really hoping we move Slot on and employ Alonso as manager/ head coach. I think we will enjoy his style of play. YNWA.

27 Jan 2026 19:15:14
No way he dezerbes the Liverpool job.

27 Jan 2026 20:22:40
Rafael as interim.

XA for next season.

I'm mega biast though.

27 Jan 2026 20:29:46
Hold your hand out fatwallet let's see how old you are.

27 Jan 2026 20:54:59
Agreed Ron.

27 Jan 2026 21:15:56
Why don't we just go and get a proven trophy winner with good Premier League experience who can work well without money, organise teams and get te players playing for him?

Ooh You Are Awful Emery.

27 Jan 2026 21:49:26
Brilliant queen of scotty road.

27 Jan 2026 23:43:58
Xabi has it all, least not the conection with L4.
He is a deeply intelligent man with fantastic man management skills, and plays football that will suit the league.

Slot got lucky during a perfect storm - he's just another average Dutch manager who is incapable of running a giant club like ours.

28 Jan 2026 00:02:33
Ron Keague - Hughes is on his way out mate, and Iraola has no experience winning trophies. He's never done anything to prove he can handle a club like Liverpool.

28 Jan 2026 01:08:02
Alonso hasn't done anything to prove he can handle a club like Liverpool.
In fact Alonso turned the Liverpool job down previously and then got his chance at a big club and failed miserably.

Iraola hasn't had a chance at a club which challenges for trophies.
Alonso blew his big chance because his man management skills weren't up to the job.
Alonso has one one league title in Germany.
Slot has a league title in Holland and England.

If you think Hughes is going then that's news to me. Edwards favours Hughes. Unless you're going to turf Hughes and Edwards out and start again.
I think the board would think it's better to give Iraola a shot that he deserves.

28 Jan 2026 05:06:40
Did Xabi Alonso sleep with Ron's wife? That's the only explanation for such continued resistance despite multiple people explaining why he failed in Madrid.

28 Jan 2026 06:06:32
So Alonso won one Bundesliga and Klopp two but Alonso didn't do anything to prove he can manage a team like Liverpool. You spout some nonsense you really do.

28 Jan 2026 07:22:09
Ron mate, your opposition to Xabi is bizzare mate.

Explain how he failed miserably at Real? His win % was extremely high. The only thing he didn't manage to do was to get spoiled brat kn@b heads to work hard and take on board a culture of respect and his vision. That place is toxic and an embarrassment of an establishment with their behaviour. This is the club who actively as a whole abstained from the ballon dor ceremony when they realised they weren't going to win it. The club and the coach were ok with that? To lay that as a failure at his feet is extremely unfair. If you're not backed by the higher ups to change a culture, there's nothing you can personally do to make people who are kn@b heads, not be kn@b heads.

Then we move onto Neverkusen. That is the equivalent of someone coming in to manage spurs in our league and win the prem and FA cup undefeated all season and only to lose in a European final. If you don't think that is impressive then I can't help you and it's clearly a deeply entrenched bias that you're doubling down on.

28 Jan 2026 07:22:46
Point being that everyone thinking Alonso has some kind of magic wand that will get the current players playing so much better than Slot needs to wake up and step out of their Alonso fantasy.

28 Jan 2026 08:15:45
The point is WarMachine. Slot can better football than he currently is (we saw it last year, and against Madrid and Villa this year). But he's refusing to pivot to a style so clearly suits our squad much better and it will eventually cost him.

28 Jan 2026 11:26:16
Be a massive gamble but I've a feeling Fabregas would do well.

28 Jan 2026 11:36:36
Why is it so bizarre that Ron would have a different opinion? I think he's laid out his argument pretty well. Not saying I agree or disagree with him but it isn't bizarre to have a differing opinion especially when there is a logical substantive argument to support it.

28 Jan 2026 12:49:12
Being sacked after 8 months has to be considered a 'miserable' failure, even at Real.
He also lost to Slot's team, and his team were rubbish. Don't see much tactical genius that night.

28 Jan 2026 13:28:39
I think you need to rewatch the games from last year. We were scraping wins with mediocre performances because Salah and Diaz were on fire. We even stopped scraping wins from about April onwards. Without any game changers this year, the football is the same but we are losing.

You might also want to rewatch Klopp's last season where everyone was moaning about Linders slowing our football down to a snails pace and us conceding the first goal in 23 games. Many were blaming Klopp from stepping away from coachingbsaying he should go.

28 Jan 2026 13:36:11
That Madrid squad is made of some of the most toxic characters playing football today, Vinicius, Mbappe, Bellingham, Arnold among many others.

This is a squad that childishly and pathetically boycotted the Balon D'or because Vinicius wasn't going to win (as it was he didn't deserve it, hard to argue that Rodri didn't), the level of professional respect they have for anyone but themselves is a disgrace.

They'd downed tools as soon as Alonso started to demand they work and get fit. I certainly wouldn't hold that stint at Madrid against Alonso, in light of the fact that to a man, every single player in that squad is an absolute cretin of one variety or other who doesn't like being told to work.

His time at Leverkusen showed that he could take a team who'd never won a title (they're called neverkusen for a reason), had dragged them up from the relegation zone in his first season and made them top 6, then champions in his second and runners up in his third, he turned us down as he probably (and reasonably) felt he wasn't ready. And that's fine.

The fact he went to Madrid isn't related to that and as he's an ex Madrid player (and Spanish) when that call comes you'd be hard pressed to find a Spaniard who would refuse (unless they're Barcelona or Atletico fans).

The fact he had a group of complete see you next Tuesday's down tools on him and show nothing but disrespect isn't a reflection on him, but it is on them.

Anyone who's seen Mbappe leading the players off instead of following Alonso's request that they gave Barcelona a guard of honour can make their own minds up, but it's absolutely disgusting behaviour towards your manager.

The fact that the Madrid board backed the players is a disgrace and I'd imagine that Alonso will never take that poisoned chalice again.

We'd be silly not to appoint him as there is a lack of credible available alternatives and he's still a highly rated brilliant young manager. I'd imagine that Frimpong and Wirtz would be champing at the bit to work with him again.

{Ed025's Note - hard to argue with any of that Victor..

28 Jan 2026 14:49:05
Slot was sacked by AK with a 55.17% win rate Alonso with Real a 71.4% win rate.

28 Jan 2026 17:09:23
Iraola = Way too much risk
Alonso = Risky too but did well at Leverkusen
Enrique = Not without risk either, had done very well at PSG did rubbish before that and now has them playing way below par this season.

They all have their own risk profile, personally I would say Enrique, just over Xabi.

28 Jan 2026 17:16:54
Ron Keague - Absolute nonsense mate. Xabi was 4 points off Barcelona in 2nd place and only lost the job because of that pack of diva's in the dressing room. Madrid is a circus and everyone knows it. Calling 2nd place a failure is a joke and you know it. Any other club in the world wouldn't have dreamt of sacking him.

Alonso took a 17th placed Leverkusen to 6th and followed it up by winning the double in the first ever Bundesliga season long unbeaten run that saw them go 51 games without a loss.

Go ahead and tell me about how Iraola does well with mid level teams.

28 Jan 2026 17:48:23
Just playing devils advocate, but surely he knew what he was letting himself in for being Spanish and having played there. That club has been pretty toxic for ages, maybe the worst it's been but still…….

{Ed025's Note - i agree KNG..

28 Jan 2026 19:51:36
It's quite embarrassing reading what Ron is posting tbh.

29 Jan 2026 01:21:57
I appreciate your desire for success boys but Ron K is bang on.
So impatient man, actually bothers me the way people have become accustomed to success.

B1tch all u like, the man is right.
