Hi all,
Big movement behind the scenes. The board seem to be leaning towards parting ways with Slot during the international break. Going to stick my neck on the line here and say I think it’s the end of the line for Arne.
21 Mar 2026 16:24:39
Sure took their time!
21 Mar 2026 16:24:50
Fingers crossed they make the right call!
21 Mar 2026 16:25:08
Victor, don't tease us.
21 Mar 2026 16:29:02
Well...
SG has been a bit extra feisty on the sidelines on the TV the last couple of weeks. Perhaps he was sending a message to the suits as well as the fans...
At the very least, hopefully, he can get these players playing again, and shake off this negative nonsense we like to play.
Even if it's just to clear the closet out, ready for the new chap...
21 Mar 2026 16:30:47
Hope you're right, Victor.
Diddly Out.
21 Mar 2026 16:35:28
I hope it's not an interim and they hire the permanent replacement. It will give him a head start on next season. I've got to believe they've already chosen the successor and have had conversations behind the scenes.
21 Mar 2026 16:35:39
No offence, but this has been said after every defeat. I fully expect Slot to be picking Gakpo for the City game.
21 Mar 2026 16:38:41
Leaning? Slot should have been sacked in November. That way, the interim manager would have had time to steady the ship until a viable option (Alonso at the start of the year) became available. Instead, we kept this manager, and look where we are.
Our club has become so poorly run it's almost comical. True leadership is decisive and proactive instead of indecisive and reactive.
21 Mar 2026 16:42:26
What I do not understand is how come they move big after every loss and sit tight when we win midweek? :) Shows how fickle the guys up there are.
21 Mar 2026 16:47:30
Really, it is time for him to go. I would have more respect for him if he was in any way self-effacing about his own shortcomings, but he is blaming everything except himself and his rubbish tactics.
Oh dear, two games in a week?
Give me a break. It is an honour to manage the club, and he has never truly gotten that.
21 Mar 2026 17:01:51
Yeah, whatever. ??
21 Mar 2026 17:04:06
Not to worry, people.... We'll have the tweets from VVD and Szlob later, saying they tried their best, and onto the next game to regroup. ?
21 Mar 2026 17:09:08
Probably too late.
21 Mar 2026 17:11:31
I'll believe it when I see it. I'm at the point where I have next to no faith that the leadership at this club are capable of making any kind of decision, let alone a sensible one.
That's the biggest issue for me by far. Total lack of leadership on and off the pitch.
No passion, no care, no emotion. The management needs to go, the coaches need to go, and the players need to hold their heads in shame for letting what Klopp built completely fall apart. Disgraceful.
21 Mar 2026 17:21:55
That's what has always shocked me, Cantremember. In my lifetime, every single manager has understood what a privilege and big deal it is to manage Liverpool. They might have been flawed in other ways, and overall disappointed, but they have always treated the role with enormous respect.
Rafa and Klopp both joined with incredibly impressive CVs from big clubs in Europe, at a time when we were significantly poorer, both in terms of quality on the pitch, infrastructure, reputation and finances. They both dedicated their lives to improving us, even sacrificing their health. I remember Klopp used to do silly YouTube videos on the club's YouTube channel when he first joined. He was one of the elite managers in the world spending his spare time doing YouTube videos for a Europa League club. In truth, it was beneath him, but he understood how important it was to build a connection with the fans.
Now we have this guy who joined the club on the back of Klopp's achievements. We inherited one of the best squads in the world, with a budget that is astronomical compared to those of previous managers. His entire career has been in the Netherlands, and he treats the role like any passing job. I actually thought I misread when I read that he flies back to the Netherlands midweek. He does not treat the job seriously at all. It's scandalous to think he can behave like this when he's being paid six-figures-a-week. He clearly has never been willing to make the necessary commitment. If you want to see your family so badly, maybe use that six-figures-a-week salary to hire a private jet to fly your kids out to see you? Heaven forbid they even move here after two years. That would be far too much of a commitment.

Slot should go, but please not Gerrard as interim. He was a great player but an awful Premiership manager.
21 Mar 2026 18:00:47
@Red_Riding_Hood or just how much nonsense "ITKs" invent. The reality is, the club will not be reviewing his position after every single win/loss.
It has been stated many times by proper journalists from very early on that the club will review this season at the end of the season.
Now, of course, that doesn't mean that Slot can't be sacked during the season, just that it's very, very unlikely.
21 Mar 2026 18:41:12
1 point from Wolves, Spurs, Brighton. In any other season, that would be a crisis. This season, it's not surprising, but almost expected. We've all been placed in a cold pot, and slowly boiled.
Can't believe he mentioned net spend of 150m, then said take the Isak fee and he's playing with a "break-even squad." He should have started and stopped at "They were the better team."
21 Mar 2026 20:14:29
Not the family thing again.
21 Mar 2026 21:06:23
It's pure luck we are still in the running for the Champions League. I wanted Slot to do well, but in the Prem it is like watching the prelude to an accident in a 90s episode of Casualty. You know it's gonna go wrong, it's just a matter of time. To go from midweek, albeit against a team that does not travel well with no fans, to today, he has to go.
If it's Gerrard til the summer, then Xabi, I think it's got to happen now. It can't be worse. I love Milner, but a 40-year-old should not be bossing a game against the current champions. It has to come down to the manager/coaches, etc.

? Love it Jay Dub.
