Hi all,

Some more info regarding Slot and his loss of the dressing room. I will always try to give out any worthwhile I get when I can, so I do apologise again for the influx of posts lately. It is not out of boredom. ?

According to multiple well-placed sources within the club, there was an “incident” between MacAllister and Slot during a training session in recent weeks. When Macca requested a word with the manager, Slot visibly ignored him and never followed back up on the request. The squad took note of this.

On the topic of Curtis Jones, while I’m unaware of any vocal disputes between the two that goes beyond anything normal in football, the squad is well aware of his discontentment with the coach. Virgil has done a lot behind the scenes to clear up both professional and personal qualms in the dressing room, but I would be very, very surprised if both Curtis and Slot are here next season.

One or both will go.

A large contributing factor to Slot’s support, while rapidly dwindling, is Virgil. There is a belief among few senior figures, including Virgil, that Slot's rough period can be corrected. This feeling was not reciprocated by Mo back in the Winter.

However, it is worth nothing that while there are always two sides to a story, there is little evidence to support the fact that Slot was the sole issue behind Mo’s woes. This has been a recurring theme in the dressing room, particularly since the midway point of Jurgen’s final season. There was a train of thought in Jurgen’s final months that Salah’s time at the club was limited anyways. His request for departure served as no surprise to the club.

Thanks for the info, Victor. ?

Thx, VG.

Just got me to think we are fast forwarding ourselves into Man U....

Hopefully, FSG are watching and decide to nip it all in the bud, and get rid of all and any of the problems...

or we have 15 years of buying the wrong type of player on crazy wages... and strolling about the pitch. Replacing coaches every season.

That's not me saying Slot should stay either.

This is very weird. If he has indeed fallen out with Macca, why is Macca still playing? It's not like he has even put any half-decent performances. Generally, an underperforming player who has a falling out with the coach doesn't play. Nyoni can't be that bad, surely, to not even get a proper chance.

Mighty,
Hopefully not. The good thing is Hughes and Edwards both gone next summer, seemingly.
I think Slot will be gone this summer too!
Just hope the replacements will be up to scratch.
Would be hard to be worse than these 3!

Much appreciated, VG. Out of the two of Slot or Jones there's only one that I really want to leave and it isn't Jones.

06 May 2026 13:32:26
Cheers Vic, keep them coming, really doesn't surprise me about VVD at all.

06 May 2026 13:39:14
I clearly remember, at the start of the season, listening to Jones talking about how he had found (I'm paraphrasing from memory) a "new lease in life and enjoying his football far more than ever before" under Slot. Things change.

06 May 2026 14:00:25
Ary, I think that was the beginning of Slot's tenure, not this season.

We all know the tactics have shifted since.

I hope the powers that be make the right decision with the coach.

06 May 2026 14:12:16
You could be right, I don't recall when it was exactly.

06 May 2026 14:30:00
Mighty, I was thinking the same thing. I hope not, but it is eerily similar.

Vgd, love the info, keep it coming!

Don't pile on, please..... I read a lot about how Hughes, Edward's and Slot have to go. I for one was blown away with the summer business (Guehi aside, which I believe was a Palace issue?), and I genuinely thought the transition post Klopp had gone swimmingly.

Now, I agree that Slot hasn't delivered this season and hasn't utilised the tools given to him properly and should go.

But, why are Edward's and Hughes being touted as failures for not sacking Slot?

If they can bring in Alonso and bolster the squad to his liking, I'd not be too sad to see them in place next season. We don't know the planning happening in the background.

To have a player of Salah's ability give his peak years to the club is all we can ever ask. Yes, he was paid a fortune. Yes, he flirted from time to time. But the fact is, he gave absolutely every ounce of himself to the club on the pitch.

He is truly deserving of word Liverpool legend/Liverpool great.

We will severely miss this legend when he is gone.

06 May 2026 16:19:48
Surely, Slot leaving will solve a lot of our problems, be it fitness and tactic issues or just falling out with most of the squad.

06 May 2026 17:17:01
Both should go in my honest opinion, Slot not good enough and neither is Curtis. He's a squad player that doesn't seem to push to be a regular. He has however done well at rb this last couple of games, well better than Frimpong anyway.

06 May 2026 18:03:10
RN7, Edwards is a control freak and only makes decisions when his laptop tells him to. If we can't get Xabi to replace Slot this summer, you can be sure it's down to the fact that he won't relinquish his grasp on that final say he has when it comes to transfers. He's also just as responsible for spending £450m and going backwards as Slot is.

Most of our signings didn't actually fit our system at the time, which is one of the main reasons we're in this mess. They looked great on paper, but they weren't exactly what we needed. Hughes is just Edwards' sock puppet.

06 May 2026 19:21:17
Maybe that's why Macca has been worse than normal.

06 May 2026 23:17:46
What I don't understand is why Edwards and Highes want to have so much control considering they are only contracted to another season. Assuming they stay, we will then have no succession planning or continuity.

We should be looking to appoint a manager, with greater input, although not sole....

like Klopp had initially. Hughes is not required, and a successor for Edwards the following season.

Hogan must step in. This is his job. Get this wrong and we will be back to the 00s chasing others ...

Mac was on the bench for the Everton game, so wondering if this disagreement was around that time.
Very good info, thanks.
